As if the sleazy boasts of the amoral, twice divorced sleaze ball real estate/Reality t.v guy is somehow more disturbing and shocking than the sleazy behavior of the amoral, married president who was busy in the Oval office sticking cigars up the silly 22 year old intern who had a crush on his power…all while his wife and daughter were just upstairs… And actively defended and provided cover by the very same amoral, power-hungry, greedy, unscrupulous enablers who still surround them to this day…and who lack any self-awareness as they express ‘shock and disgust’ at the amoral, sleaze ball real estate/reality t.v guy who was until recently great chums and golf buddies with the amoral, sleaze ball ex-president..

You really can’t make this stuff up Ametia..

My college friend [gay white male from Virginny; recognizes his privilege] always cuts to the chase. His response when I sent him the tweet about a Drumpf supporter trying to make journo have an epileptic seizure:

Yep, those are this asshole’s people. The angry and white and – so they’d like you to believe – the left behind.

But nobody left them behind. They got lazy and fat and thought they were on a roll. Meanwhile, Real America grew up all around them, and not particularly quickly. Slowly, and steadily over the last 50 years.

What’s notable here is that Real America got a look at these sad fools and just walked away. Now they elect appropriate representatives for the world they live in, cuz they own the joint. And oh, that makes the angry, white and lazy so very angry.

But they can’t reclaim the grip they lost. So Trump is their parting shot in this world – one last chance to slap the Zenith TV before the foiled up rabbit ears fall off and the screen goes blank.

Ava DuVernay’s ‘13th’ explores the intersection of racism and criminal justice

Ava DuVernay’s documentary “13th” lands with unsettling, unstoppable force, delivering a long-buried lesson on race, history, criminal justice and political cynicism with such swift concision that viewers may emerge feeling wiser, but still not knowing what hit them.

Named for the 13th Amendment, which declared slavery illegal except as a punishment for criminality, DuVernay’s film expertly threads the audience through the myriad ways that loophole has been used to control, suppress and decimate communities of color: through mass arrests and imprisonment after the Civil War (when black men’s free labor was used to help rebuild a ravaged South); through the criminalization of activism during the civil rights era; and through draconian law-and-order policies that started with the Nixon administration and continued through the Clinton and Bush years. As the film argues, politicians and a compliant media have stoked and exploited an irrational fear of African Americans — especially young African American men — initially to secure white votes, and more recently to feed a profit-driven private prison system.

  8. Good morning, everyone

Liza, any word from your family? I pray all is well.

    • Liza says:

TY, SG2. Most of them live in on the westside in Jax and didn’t have to evacuate. They are getting hammered all day by this storm but they will be okay. My sister who lives in Palm Coast will most likely have property damage, trees uprooted, etc… but it will be a few days before she can go back there. She still has her old house in west Jax so she has a place to live.
