BBC has had good coverage of it…and the devastation in Haiti has been especially depressing…I think that the deaths are probably under reported … Has to be impossible to accurately track and log such information in a country lacking in even the most basic of infrastructure…data collection and sorting must be mediocre at best…
Watching the people help each other get to safety has been uplifting…and watching those who made it through, return to their destroyed homes and immediately begin rebuilding as best they can …with corrugated metal sheets…and determined spirits …incredibly inspiring and humbling..

I pray for all the families and victims of this devastating storm. Haiti is taking the hits unlike any other country. The weak and vulnerable need protection from all the power-hungry, GREEDY folks who swoop in pretending to lend a hand with recovery and care and the other out-stretched hand for the $$$$$
TY, Eliihass. The relatives are good, but my sister in Flagler County hasn’t seen her house yet. Flagler County (south of Jax) and all of those beach cities adjacent to and near Jacksonville seem to have gotten the worst of it from what I can tell. And the erosion along the coastline is really bad. There’s a lot of work to do.
Haiti is in the throes of a humanitarian crisis, and I’m not sure what it will take to get the world to pay attention and stay focused on really helping those folks.

I agree, Ametia. I’ve been watching the weather channel and every time I switch over to CNN or MSNBC to see if they’re covering Matthew, all they’ve got on is Trump and his “lewd” comments. What a revelation this must be for the media, that scumbags talk like scumbags. And they’ll keep hammering this nail until the so called debate when we all sit in wide eyed suspense waiting for someone to bring it up.

Ana Navarro is part of the original viciously anti-Obama republican shit-stirrers that gave rise to and helped sustain the very same vile slice of the electorate that now support Trump…a demographic she and her fellow republican operatives would have been doing everything to court and harness support from had one of her preferred candidates Jeb or Marco won their GOP nomination…
If for nothing it would have been fun also watching Ana Navarro straddle between her loyalties to Jeb or Marco …and supporting the preferred candidate of her 72 year old bofriend Gene Prescott…longtime Clinton pal and fundraiser…
