Monday Open Thread: Remembering the Obama Years

I know that I am not ready to say goodbye. I can’t believe that 8 years has gone by in a flash. We didn’t deserve you, President and Mrs. Obama, but I am so happy that we got you.

There are so many memories. So many firsts. Their strength of character during these past eight years has been the thing that impresses me most about our First Couple.

Well, y’all, it’s looking good for Hillary. Nate Silver has Hillary and Trump split at about 70/30 in all three of his models. Florida and North Carolina are light blue again. Hillary doesn’t need them to win, but Trump does.

Hillary wins, no doubt about it at this point. It’s all over for Trump come Wednesday. His next big speech will be his concession speech (hopefully), then maybe he’ll go away for a long time.

Deputy killed, another injured during dispute in Peach County, Georgia

BYRON, Ga. — Authorities say a Peach County deputy was killed and another was wounded responding to a dispute between neighbors in central Georgia.

The Macon Telegraph reported the shooting happened Sunday near Byron, about 16 miles southwest of Macon.

Peach County coroner Kerry Rooks confirmed the deputy’s death but could not release the name pending next of kin notification.

However, Peach Coroner Kerry Rooks identified the deceased deputy as 41-year-old Patrick Sondron, CBS affiliate WMAZ reported.

The second officer who was wounded was also a Peach deputy and was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon. That officer’s name has not been released, WMAZ reported.
