In Loving Memory of Trayvon Martin

hoodieWe honor the life of Trayvon Martin and his family. We stand in solidarity with Sybrina & Tracy Martin as they continue to fight for justice with passion and grace. Trayvon Martin was stalked and gunned down like an animal by a racist vigilante on a dark rainy night in Sanford Florida. I still remember his blood curdling screams as I listened to the 911 call. The screams pierced to my soul. A hateful racist system denied him justice and smeared his young life. It left a deep wound in our hearts. We still weep. When will we see equal justice? How long must we suffer? Please continue to say a prayer for Trayvon’s family.

And now she’s a warrior, a mighty force in the movement for equality and justice.

My heart breaks for the mothers of these murdered children. Yet, they rise and fight for all of us. May God keep them safe and strong.

Yes. MR. SPEAKER, MEMBERS OF THE KKK REMOVED THEIR HOODS, ND REPLACED THEM WITH BROOKS BROTHERS SUITS, BLUE UNIFORMS, BADGES, & CUFFS, AND GUNS

This is one of my favorite pictures of Trayvon. This and the one above where he is fishing, standing on the dock with his catch.

Such a good song with the right message. We need to save our children, God knows too many have been killed.

  6. Liza says:

Folks will say this was the murder that woke a nation, that Trayvon was the 21st century’s Emmett Till and so forth.

But the country I want to live in is one where young black children don’t have to die to wake people up.

Rest in power, Trayvon. You affected the nation in profound ways, to be sure. But I would much prefer that you had just simply graduated from college and had the career in aviation that you dreamed about.

I never got past that he still had his baby face. He never got to grow into his manhood.😥😥😥
