In the height of Wikileaks’ expose of highly sensitive CIA files, Assange, who has been holed up inside the Ecuadorean embassy in West London since 2012, met with the former leader of Ukip (The UK Independence Party) and Trump pal Nigel Farage, for approximately 40 minutes, a source inside Ukip told The Independent. The meeting preceded Assange’s news conference.
Mr Farage was spotted leaving the building behind Christian Mitchell, the head of operations at LBC, yet bizarrely told Buzzfeed he couldn’t remember what he was doing inside or why he was there. “I never discuss where I go or who I see,” Mr Farage said.

Sessions considers special counsel, but not for Trump
    03/09/17 12:55 PM
    By Steve Benen
One of the oddities of 2017 is how much time Republicans have spent looking backwards. Donald Trump, for example, has invested an enormous amount of energy focusing his predecessor, the 2016 election, and voter fraud that exists only in the president’s mind. House Oversight Committee Chairman (R-Utah), meanwhile, remains focused on Hillary Clinton’s email server from eight years ago.

And at the Justice Department, as Politico reports, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is apparently amenable to the idea of appointing a special counsel, not to investigate Trump’s scandals, but to look over the work done by Sessions’ predecessors.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that he would be open to bringing in an outside counselor to investigate the practices of his Department of Justice predecessors under former President Barack Obama.

Sessions was asked about such an arrangement during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, who suggested that Sessions might ask outside counsel to look into the department under Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch.

    TRUMPCARE IT IS!!!

White House isn’t on board with the ‘Trumpcare’ label
    03/09/17 10:08 AM—UPDATED 03/09/17 10:14 AM
    By Steve Benen

Kellyanne Conway, one of Donald Trump’s top White House advisers, appeared on Fox News yesterday and touted the new Republican health care plan, which, she said, enjoys the president’s full support. There was, however, some quibbling about what to call the GOP proposal.

Conway says the Republican plan enjoys “presidential leadership,” explaining that Trump has personally taken it upon himself to push the bill through. She added that the president is “really husbanding” the legislation through the process.

But when the discussion turned to the bill’s name, TPM reported that Conway insisted this is”serious business” and “isn’t about branding according to someone’s name.” She added, “I’ll call it Trumpcare if you want to, but I didn’t hear President Trump say to any of us, ‘Hey, I want my name on that.’”

A White House spokesperson struck a more emphatic note with Politico, arguing “It’s not ‘Trumpcare.’ … We will be calling it by its official name,” the American Health Care Act.

    ………………………..

The Obama White House spent years pushing back against “Obamacare,” precisely because the Democratic president and his team didn’t want support for the law to hinge solely on personal attitudes about Obama.

It didn’t matter. Republicans were obsessed with the “Obamacare” label, the media soon followed, and much of the public started assuming that this was the official, or at least semi-official name. To this day, seven years after the law was signed, many Americans have no idea that the Affordable Care Act and “Obamacare” are the same thing.

With that in mind, opponents of the GOP’s American Health Care Act, of which there are many, have a built-in incentive to ignore the White House’s pushback and push the “Trumpcare” name with great vigor. After all, the Republican president is not popular; the ridiculous legislation has few allies; and calling it “Trumpcare” will likely depress public support further.

Trump may not want his name on this, but it’s not really up to him which nicknames stick.

More Americans oppose Donald Trump’s agenda than support it on almost every issue, poll finds
Improving infrastructure only topic agreed upon across political divide

    Philip Bump

Among the many questionable claims that have come from the White House over the past month and a half, one of the most questionable came from an unexpected source: Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference last month, Priebus asserted that the policies President Trump had outlined to that point met with the approval of 80 percent of the American public. We considered that claim and determined it to be true – if you considered only Republicans to be Americans.

    .;……………………….

On nearly every issue, Trump gets majority support only from Republicans. In the case of lowering taxes on the wealthy, he doesn’t even get that. In every case where the results are about split, both overall and within party responses, more people oppose Trump’s view than support it.

But notice infrastructure, if you haven’t already. Spending more money to improve roads and airports (among other things) meets with overwhelming approval. More than 90 percent of the members of each party agree that such spending would be warranted. This highlights the partisanship that locked Washington over the past eight years. Infrastructure spending is popular, and President Barack Obama consistently called for new spending, but no major infrastructure spending bill passed the Republican-controlled Congress.

More grifting and dubious follow the money dealings…Didn’t they tell us Ivanka and Jared bought the house in the Kalorama neighborhood where our historic POTUS and FLOTUS now live..?

“…There’s one less mystery surrounding the Trump family: the identity of the landlord who rents to first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, top White House adviser Jared Kusher, has finally been revealed.

And the rent check goes to … a Chilean billionaire. And not just your run-of-the-mill Latin American magnate, but one who is mired in a legal battle with the U.S. government, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The identity of the owner of the Kalorama mansion that the Trump-Kushner family moved into this year had been obscured through a company, “Tracy D.C. Real Estate Inc.,” listed on the deed for the sale in December, according to Washington property records. But the Journal was able to locate the man behind the company: Andrónico Luksic belongs to one of Chile’s wealthiest families, the newspaper reports, and the U.S. branch of his company is suing the government for blocking its plan to run a copper-and-nickel mining operation adjacent to a Minnesota wilderness area.

A Luksic rep tells the Journal that the couple is paying “absolute market value” for the mansion, which the Trump-Kushner family has used for entertaining Kushner’s colleagues from the Trump administration — and as a backdrop for Ivanka’s gauzy Instagrams of their power-family lifestyle…”

      Don’t even get me started…

Just watched Elijah Cummings cooning away for ‘President’ Trump…my people, my people…

When even bloody Joe Scarborough and Mika are so taken aback by the normalizing reverence that they ask Elijah Cummings how he could be so glowing and positive about the guy who is brazenly accusing the historic President of a felony…

Elijah Cummings who was so effusive and ready to go to battle for Hillary on the Benghazi panel, responds so mealy-mouthed about how he’d ‘gotten to know President Obama well’…and how he’d like ‘president’ Trump to ‘take it back, but it’s too late now’…

And quickly moved back to talking about his great meeting with ‘president Trump’…

Can’t in one breath be talking about investigating Russia’s alliance with the buffoon’s campaign, and in the next breath be talking about how the impostor is going to be ‘president’ for 4 years and how you need to work with him to get things done for the mothers and children 🙄🤔🙄…

Watch for return visits with Mrs Cummings in tow, for shrimps and cocktails…under the guise of ‘bipartisanship’..

And don’t even get me started on Vermont’s Peter Welch…and his cringeworthy groveling ‘president Trump’ is a ‘businessman and negotiator’ …

Lord knows one can’t take some of these Democrats to the battlefield …so many fickle, flaky, cowards who will sell out in a hot minute…so little time..

      God help us…

And since when did the minority who supported/voted for the buffoon become the driving force for and the final word on policy and everything..

If anyone can find the video, it’s from this morning on MSNBC – please, post…
