Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle thinks the Secret Service should pay rappers Snoop Dogg and Bow Wow a “visit” for their childish attacks on President Donald Trump.
In his new music video for “Lavender,” Snoop mock-assassinates a clown version of Trump with a gun that unfurls a cartoonish “BANG” flag. Because he has nothing better to do, apparently, the president responded with a tweet on Wednesday: “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”
Snoop’s long-time protege Bow Wow stepped up to the plate with an obscenely childish comeback, tweeting at the president: “Ayo @realDonaldTrump shut your punk ass up talking shit about my uncle @SnoopDogg before we pimp your wife and make her work for us.”
He later deleted the tweet, but not before it became fodder for a Thursday segment of Fox News’s midday gabfest, The Five, in which the co-hosts took turns excoriating the rappers for their actions—until Guilfoyle took a step further with a glib remark Snoop and Bow Wow should be killed.
“What should the Secret Service do, Kimberly?” Greg Gutfeld asked his colleague, in the clip first spotted by liberal watchdog Media Matters. “It was an actual threat.”
“Kill them?” Guilfoyle responded to chuckles from her co-hosts. “Kill them.”
She then pivoted to a more serious remark: “I think it would be fantastic if Snoop and wannabe-Snoop got a visit from, like, the federal marshals and let’s see how tough and gangster they are then.”
Aside from her hosting duties on Fox News, Guilfoyle was once a contender for Trump’s White House press secretary role before the gig was ultimately given to Sean Spicer.

Finally, MSNBC’s countdown to the start of the Maddow’s hour zeroed out, and her show began. She spent the first 20 minutes working through the context surrounding Trump’s tax returns. The goal was to provide a road map for viewers tuning in who had varying levels of familiarity with the matter, but also to keep audiences hanging on through the commercial break.
But back to the point. After much suspense, narrative and otherwise, viewers learned that Trump’s 2005 1040 showed he had paid more than $30 million in taxes instead of about $5 million because of the alternative minimum tax, which he has proposed eliminating. That’s notable, though far from the smoking gun Maddow’s captive viewers might have been hoping for. Still, she managed to leverage the segment’s inherent weakness into a strength for discursive momentum: Instead of answering the many questions surrounding Trump’s finances, Maddow reinvigorated the questions themselves. The segment was most significant in its impact on the mainstream discussion, and Maddow made certain to signal the two most crucial takeaways: Trump’s tax documents can be found, and there is massive public interest in finding them.
Unfortunately, thus far, the efforts to find Trump’s tax returns have been stigmatized by partisanship. While tweeting about Maddow’s segment, my Twitter mentions were filled with Trump supporters suggesting I “get over it.” “Are u kidding?” wrote one. “Is that all that matters to you snowflakes?” That defensive sentiment extended far beyond the fringe. “Rachel Maddow revealed that Trump paid more taxes in ’05 than most people will pay in their entire lives,” snarked former Republican congressman Joe Walsh after the show ended. “What ground-breaking journalism.”
Yet again, we’re all tragically missing the point, fighting through partisan bitterness as the leader of the free world continues to skate by unchecked. To Trump supporters especially, I say this: The president’s tax returns should be of supreme importance to anyone who values American democracy. It doesn’t matter what you think about the Maddow segment specifically. It doesn’t matter if you want the release of Trump’s tax returns to be the most condemning spectacle since Watergate or you hope they prove he’s an honest businessman. Every last citizen ought to demand transparency when it comes to the individual in control of our country’s resources.
The reason we need Trump to be transparent about his tax returns is simple: They can make clear any potential conflicts of interest — something that is absolutely necessary to know about the president. As we argue with one another over issues of policy, ideology, and Maddow’s opening monologue, we’ve lost sight of the imperative that should supercede not only our 140-character feuding, but all serious political conversation: We must demand the release of Donald Trump’s tax returns because if our president is beholden to any entity other than the American people, this country cannot truly be free.

Governor Rick Scott: Stop blocking State’s Attorney Aramis Ayala
Aramis Ayala, the first Black woman state attorney in Florida history, just made a heroic move by refusing to seek the death penalty. Florida Governor Rick Scott removed her from a key case and instead choose a white prosecutor to replace her. Even the victim’s family is in support of Ayala’s decision to not pursue the death penalty.
This is about more than the death penalty. Black communities and our allies have built a movement over the last year to replace the worst prosecutors with leaders who want to change the system from the inside out– like Aramis Ayala and Kim Foxx in Chicago. Just like every other movement that has built power for Black people, this movement is being met by anti-Blackness, right wing resistance, and anti-democratic tactics intended to keep our communities trapped under the leadership of white conservatives.

If I were Adam Schiff, the leading Democrat on the committee, I would demand to see the following witnesses: Carter Page, Paul Manafort, Richard Burt, Erik Prince, Dan Scavino, Brad Parscale, Roger Stone, Corey Lewandowski, Boris Epshteyn, Rudolph Giuliani, Michael Flynn, Michael Flynn Jr., Felix Sater, Dmitry Rybolovlev, Michael Cohen, Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel, Robert and Rebekah Mercer, Stephen Bannon, Sebastian Gorka, Michael Anton, Julia Hahn and Stephen Miller, along with executives from Cambridge Analytica, Alfa Bank, Silicon Valley Bank and Spectrum Health.
There are many more who need to be called, but these would be a first step. As to lines of questioning, here are some suggestions.
