Preet Bharara: “There’s absolutely evidence” to start obstruction case against Trump

Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara on Sunday said there is “absolutely evidence to begin a case” against President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice.

Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara on Sunday said there is “absolutely evidence to begin a case” against President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice.

“I think there’s absolutely evidence to begin a case,” Bharara said on ABC News’ “This Week.”

In March, Trump asked Bharara, formerly U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, to resign from his position just months after personally asking Bharara to stay on.

“I think it’s very important for all sorts of armchair speculators in the law to be clear that no one knows right now whether there’s a provable case of obstruction,” Bharara noted on Sunday, but added: “It’s also true, I think, from based on what I see as a third party and out of government, that there’s no basis to say there’s no obstruction.”

And even if it weren’t up to State legislatures, in these weird times of hostile foreign governments meddling with our democratic process, even I reluctantly want these primaries closely guarded …just so dubious folks don’t perpetrate some funny stuff…If you care enough about the Democratic Party and want to participate in the party process, change your registration if you’re registered ‘Green’ or ‘No party preference’…”

Can’t be registered ‘Green’ and trying to have a say or ‘influence’ the Democratic Party …Doesn’t work like that..

What Do We Make of Trump’s Strange Behavior?

    by BooMan
Sun Jun 11th, 2017 at 09:18:27 AM EST

I read a lot so sometimes I’ll forget where I saw something. The other day I noticed someone make the observation that one reason it’s hard to get good electoral reform is that the winners of elections are always fairly satisfied with the outcome regardless of any abnormalities or problems that may have occurred. And I suppose, in a case like Donald Trump’s, there may be an element of worry that acknowledging any flaws in the presidential election could damage his legitimacy and undercut the magnitude of his accomplishment. He’s obviously sensitive about the subject as we all witnessed when he went to ridiculous lengths to lie about the size of his inaugural crowds. His repeated insistence that Russian interference is a hoax or fake news designed by Democrats to make excuses for their loss is another indication.

What I’m saying here is that some of Trump’s stunning lack of interest in getting to the bottom of the Russia question could theoretically be chalked up to psychological and political factors that would influence any winning candidate and party.

I try to keep this in mind as a sort of innocent explanation because the overall impression is far less understandable. I think we’re all familiar with the plot device in which a spouse comes under suspicion in the death of their loved one because they aren’t showing a normal or appropriate level of emotion. If we used that analogy in this case, Trump would be the husband who didn’t call 911 when he found his lifeless wife lying on the floor. He’d be the one who tried to stop others from calling the cops. He’d be the one who denied that she’d been murdered at all, hired one of the prime suspects to work for him, and tried to use his influence with the mayor to shut down the investigation. He’d say strangely positive things about the prime suspects and have some exculpatory story about a 400 lb. intruder that no one has ever seen. His lawyer would have extensive ties to people who had a motive to kill his wife. His son-in-law would have met privately with them and tried to conceal that fact. And when interviewed by investigators, he never once would express the slightest concern that his wife was dead or any interest in seeing her killers brought to justice.

A crime has been committed against our country, but Trump was the beneficiary of that crime and is pleased with the outcome. He has no remorse about it. He doesn’t want it investigated.

So, what are the chances that this can all be explained as normal? Is it really different from how any candidate would feel if their election was called into question?

Everything Trump does arouses more suspicion. He doesn’t make the slightest effort to look innocent. There’s no right way to act when your wife is murdered, and sometimes people will act in abnormal ways that make them look guilty even when they are not. They might even say, “I’m so glad that she’s dead and that I just bought this giant life insurance policy. I’m rich!!”

    Anything can happen.

That we have a President Trump is proof that anything can happen.

(2/3) This falls squarely in the Judiciary Committee’s jurisdiction. Time to use our authority to get to the bottom of this.

He’s such a corrupt, loud-mouthed coward, he’ll never do it..

Even if Mueller does conclude with incontrovertible evidence that he did indeed collude with the Russians, the buffoon will have to be forcibly removed kicking and screaming from the People’s House..

The truth is that for all the hullabaloo about how ‘rich’ he is, and the carefully choreographed ostentatious displays of purported ‘luxury living’ – like a dolled-up used private plane etc., even as he desperately scrounges and grasps for pennies by scamming widows and shafting construction workers, there’s just something about the way he and his brood are now greedily lapping up – and squealing in delight, over even the most basic stuff like meatloaf, 2 scoops of ice cream, Diet Coke on-demand, etc., that suggests that beyond the phony displays and shallow optics for show, they’ve really never experienced actual grand living – and especially now with a proper roster of service/ Household staff …great chefs, valets, properly trained butlers etc…above and beyond the crass, less than mediocre imitations at the hotels..

They really can’t believe their luck…and they’re going to squeeze every last bit of meatloaf they can get until real patriots decide to haul them out on their treasonous grifting behinds..

HEINRICH: The president has repeatedly talked about the Russian investigation into the U.S. — or Russia’s involvement in the U.S. Election cycle as a hoax and fake news. Can you talk a little bit about what you saw as FBI director and, obviously, only the parts that you can share in this setting that demonstrate how serious this action actually was and why there was an investigation in the first place?

COMEY: Yes, sir. There should be no fuzz on this whatsoever. The Russians interfered in our election during the 2016 cycle. They did with purpose. They did it with sophistication. They did it with overwhelming technical efforts. It was an active measures campaign driven from the top of that government. There is no fuzz on that. It is a high confidence judgment of the entire intelligence community and the members of this committee have seen the intelligence. It’s not a close call. That happened. That’s about as unfake as you can possibly get. It is very, very serious, which is why it’s so refreshing to see a bipartisan focus on that. This is about America, not about a particular party.

Trump attorney won’t rule out firing Mueller
    06/11/2017 11:55 AM EDT

One of President Donald Trump’s attorneys on Sunday wouldn’t rule out the possibility the president would fire the special counsel appointed to look into his campaign’s potential ties to Russia.

Robert Mueller was appointed by the Justice Department last month to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. And on Sunday, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Trump attorney Jay Sekulow whether the president would pledge not to interfere or order the attorney general to fire Mueller.

“Look, the president of the United States, as we all know, is a unitary executive,” Sekulow said on ABC’s “This Week.” “But the president is going to seek the advice of his counsel and inside the government as well as outside. And I’m not going to speculate on what he will, or will not, do.”

Sekulow said he “can’t imagine” the issue would arise, but “that, again, is an issue that the president with his advisers would discuss if there was a basis.”

The Worst Thing That Happened to Donald Trump this Week
    June 9, 2017, 4:33 PM

What’s the worst thing that happened to Donald Trump this week? It was NOT Director Comey’s testimony. Rather, it must be the late Friday news that Robert Mueller has hired Michael Dreeben, on a part-time basis, to help with his investigation.

Dreeben, a deputy in the Office of the Solicitor General, has argued more than 100 cases before the Supreme Court. His specialty has, for the last 20 years, been criminal matters and he has an encyclopedic knowledge of criminal law. I once saw him argue a Supreme Court matter without a single note. In short, he is quite possibly the best criminal appellate lawyer in America (at least on the government’s side). That Mueller has sought his assistance attests both to the seriousness of his effort and the depth of the intellectual bench he is building.

These republicans are funny… like a kid at some grand function, running to the podium and pooping all over himself while the audience watches in horror…and mummy running up and trying to cover up the kid with poop on his clothes with her coat,…and the kid keeps throwing the coat off..and keeps running back to the podium to do hand-stands and make funny faces at the audience…still covered in poop..

Try as she may, Mummy can’t hide the obvious…and now, not only is her coat ruined, but she and it and are covered in it too..
