    Whites taking over Brewerytown

    As a longtime resident of the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia, I have seen the changes in the neighborhood due to gentrification (“Bitterness brewing,” Tuesday).

    Not all of those changes have been positive. I have no real issue with whites moving into urban areas, except for two things.

    First, these folks are given tax abatements to live in lofts and townhouses, while long-term residents’ property taxes steadily increase. I could care less about Caucasians living in the “hood,” but I don’t wish to pay for their existence.

    Second, the influx of whites has resulted in bitterness because the whites have shown no respect to those who have lived in the community long before most of them were even born. They prance around the neighborhood as if they OWN it and look upon the African Americans as if we are the interlopers.

    Missouri’s Senate is considering legislation that would allow employers and landlords to discriminate against women who use birth control or have had abortions. The bill, which has the support of the state’s governor, Eric Greitens, was approved by the Missouri House Tuesday.

    Known as SB 5, the bill was first passed by the Senate on June 14 following a special session called by Greitens. His aim was to overturn an ordinance that prevents employers and housing providers from punishing women for their reproductive health choices, according to a report by Feministing, a feminist website.

    The ordinance was passed by the city of St. Louis, and Greitens had said it made the area into “an abortion sanctuary city.” The Senate seemed to agree with him, as did the House, which on Tuesday passed an expanded version of SB 5 that included more anti-abortion restrictions. Given the Senate’s vote on June 14, it it seen as likely to approve the updated version of SB 5. This would mean that landlords could refuse to offer housing to women based on their reproductive health choices, while employers could fire female staff members who were using birth control, or refuse to hire them. And while of course this isn’t information most landlords or employers have access to, under SB 5 they could ask women what forms of reproductive health care they are using.

      The more comfortable they get, the harder it’ll be to get them out…

      Contrary to common yarns spun around about ‘wealth and luxury’, they’ve NEVER EVER had it this good…

      And the firmer the grip and control over the overall structure of things…like replacing non-partisan federal government employees… and planting their very own sleazy, dubious, compromised, sycophants in highly traditional and sensitive posts to not only do their bidding, but to cover up their various iniquities …the further they desecrate and decimate our democratic institutions..

      Like everything else about the corrupt, treasonous buffoon and kkklan, it’s all been smoke and mirrors, outright lies… empty folders as props, used and refurbished 26 year old plane previously owned by a budget MEXICAN airline, masquerading as a ‘luxury private jet’…with cheap fast food eaten with silverware…Now replaced by high-end chefs serving meatloaf, chocolate cake and gourmet ice cream…And a lying, dubious, imported 2-bit something turned 3rd wife, who wasn’t even allowed a say and moved in and has lived in the decor vision of the 1st wife, now gleefully lapping it all up, acting as ‘lady’ of the manor…with a throng of household staff including butlers and chefs and others …with most, infinitely better-educated than she’ll ever be…A new low…first time in modern history…86 years to be exact…no college degree ….an imported impostor, propelled into position…And a country that scrutinized every last detail about the historic first black First Family…including demanding access to and perusing college thesis they wrote as19 year olds at their Ivy League universities…Same folks suddenly now turn a blind eye …and even declare as ‘classy, intelligent, successful, patriot’…a bumbling, ignorant, limited vocabulary, barely discernible ‘english’, corrupt duo with well-documented dubious histories and ties..

      “…There’s one small part of Mexico, Donald Trump has very close, personal ties to that he’s not prepared to give up: his private jet – which spent much of its former life in the very country he appears to despise.

      ‘Trump Force One’ – as the plane has been dubbed, in a nod to the presidential jet Air Force One, which Trump has eschewed for his own aircraft – was operated by Mexican airline TAESA Lineas Aéreas in a previous life.

      The low-cost carrier leased the plane from July 6 1994 until March 31 1995. Its precise flight route isn’t known, but it was likely based in Mexico City, at the airline’s headquarters.

      It was originally leased in 1991 by Sterling Airways, a now defunct low-cost outfit based in Copenhagen. A few years later it passed to TAESA before being snapped up by Vulcan Northwest Inc – which represents the investments and business affairs of Allen.

      In 2011, the aircraft was bought by DJT Operations – which is owned by Mr Trump, ….bought the Boeing 757, registered N757AF, from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. It’s now almost 26 years old, so no spring chicken, and a quick registration search reveals its colourful history.

      It is quite common for planes to change hands via leasing or sales. Registration numbers can change too, although Trump’s N757AF has not.

      When Trump used the plane to travel across the US on his campaign trail, the New York Times revealed that its registration had expired – an offence that could result in a civil penalty of up to $27,500 (£22,820), a criminal fine of up to $250,000 (£207,455) and imprisonment for up to three years. The issue was later resolved, and the plane was cleared to fly…”
