No one gets to be a Nazi and a proud American. We fought a war about it. The world was involved.

      Nazis are ANTI-American!

If my dad, who fought with the Rainbow Division in WWII in Europe, were alive today, he would be furious to see these Nazis.

My heart is in Charlottesville today, and with everyone made to feel unsafe in their country.

But the incitement of hatred that got us here is as real and condemnable as the white supremacists in our streets.

Every minute we allow this to persist through tacit encouragement or inaction is a disgrace, & corrosive to our values.

Now is the time for leaders to be strong in their words & deliberate in their actions.

We will not step backward. If this is not who we are as Americans, let’s prove it.

My daughter called me Wednesday night to tell me she’d be coming from Alabama for a visit from Saturday until Tuesday. I made the mistake of asking her what she wanted me to cook for her. She wasted no time telling me she wanted to have what we call “Taco Night.” I didn’t fix tacos for her last night because I’d put some pork chops in marinade Thursday to put on the grill Friday, so we had pork chops, salad, homemade vanilla ice cream, and rice. We’re having “Taco Night” tonight. No matter how old kids get they still think their mamas are supposed to cook their favorite meals for them.

    Weekend (White) Warriors

Meanwhile here in Trump’s America, we’re having open Nazi rallies in Virginia to celebrate the victories of white supremacy over the last year, and let’s face it, they won themselves an entire US federal government. They have a lot to cheer about with this regime while they’re marching with torches in hand.

    Snip:

Anyone who is shocked or thinks this is unfathomable after the Obama administration?  Let the fact America happily elected the most hostile regime towards civil rights in generations as a direct response to America’s first black president sink in.

This is merely America reverting to form, and that form is that of a country that became the most powerful in the world by exploiting black and brown bodies for 400 years and continues to do so today with the government of the United States fully in control of a Republican Party completely dedicated to continuing this arrangement.

Expect a lot more of this in the years ahead.  We’re long overdue.

The thing is these white men who are waving flags are the very ones who were given the idea that they were always the privileged ones to the point of them not going to college to further their education and get jobs/technical skills to keep up with a global and economic society.
The politicians use their ignorance to feed them fear of BLACK, BROWN, & YELLOW folk are the reason for ALL their FAILURES.

Trump needs to condemn white supremacy and fire the Bannon/Gorka/Miller trio. He won’t do it.

And I’ve heard enough already about unity. That is so much horsesh!t.
