  1. Las Vegas sheriff gives timeline of shooting, discovery of gunman

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/las-vegas-shooting-timeline-stephen-paddock-mandalay-bay/

Las Vegas sheriff Joseph Lombardo broke down the timeline of the 75 chaotic minutes Sunday night between when shots first rang out and when police found gunman Stephen Paddock dead in his hotel room 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay.

The first shots were fired at 10:05 p.m., according to closed-circuit television from the concert venue. The shooting continued for 10 minutes, until 10:15 p.m. Fifty-eight people were killed in the shooting, and 489 injured, Lombardo said.

Lombardo said he doesn’t know why Paddock stopped firing, but he “could’ve kept continued firing, some were jammed but he could’ve continued.”

The first officers arrived on the 31st floor — one floor below where Paddock was firing — at 10:12 p.m. Officers arrived at the 32nd floor at 10:17 p.m. Lombardo said it was “phenomenal” they reached the 32nd floor within 12 minutes of when shots rang out.

One minute later, a security officer told Las Vegas police officers he was shot and gives them the exact location of the shooter. Lombardo said he didn’t know if the security officer was armed.

“His bravery was amazing,” Lombardo said. “He remained with officers and actually continued to help clear rooms until officer told him to seek medical attention.” Lombardo said that by his estimate, 200 rounds were fired into the hallway.

Between 10:26 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., eight additional officers arrived on the 32nd floor and moved systematically through the hallway, clearing the rooms and looking for any more injured.

At 10:55 p.m., eight officers arrived in the stairwell at the opposite end of the hallway nearest to the Paddock’s room. They saw the room service cart, which Lombardo said it was apparent there were cameras.

The officers spent the next 30 minutes formulating a plan to enter Paddock’s room. The delay was “purposeful and no shots were being heard at this point,” Lombardo said.

At 11:20 p.m., officers first breached Paddock’s room. They observed the suspect on the ground and noticed a second door they could not access. At 11:27 p.m., the second breach was set off, allowing officers to enter the second room. Officers quickly realized there was no one else in their rooms and announced that information over the radio.

Lombardo said the evidence indicated that Paddock intended to survive the shooting. Photos from the scene indicated there was a note on yellow paper, and Lombardo said he could not recall that specific paper but he was certain there was no suicide note.

What 64 year old White Man is “known to the police” ?
    What are they not saying

    • majiir says:

I’m also wondering why they aren’t sharing the info about the 64-year-old White man they claim is “Known to the police.

Been seeing a few people want to get preachy about Black folks happy the shooter wasn’t and i wrote this right quick. Black people not only look to see if the shooter is Black but pray they are not because White America blames and expects contrition from the entire Black race should a Black person commit such a crime. White people are not tagged as a group for the activities of their individuals. This is dangerous to the health and safety of Black people because the White Supremacist police forces also adopt the attitude that Black people should pay a collective price for the actions of individual Black people. Their President has called for increased abuse of people in the control of police something that police from management down to the dispatcher have no problem meting out to Black Americans.

The domestic Terrorist broke two windows at the hotel, and they don’t have sensors to alert them?

    • majiir says:

Yes, he does. He’s among those the 2009 Homeland Security Report President Obama released shortly after he entered office—-the one Republicans had a conniption fit about and got withdrawn even though Pres. Obama didn’t order the report on domestic terrorism, “W” did. McConnell and other high-level GOPers made it appear that the report was a smear against Republicans. They knew it wasn’t a smear. The report contained information they simply didn’t want Americans to know. The most dangerous individuals in America at the present time are White males. This group of individuals are the ones committing murder on a large scale. The race of these violent mass murderers is probably a major reason Republicans in Congress can only offer useless “thoughts and prayers” after one of them kills large numbers of Americans again and again. If these guys were Persons of Color doing this on the regular, the GOPers in Congress would have passed a gun control bill long ago. It’s what they did in California after the Black Panthers showed up armed at the state capitol, so I know race matters to them when it comes to gun control.
