Make no mistake. The GOP doesn’t care about anything but giving tax cuts to the rich. They’d sell their mothers to Lucifer to get those tax cuts.
And, make no mistake, these are tax cuts FOR THE RICH.
Paid for by the destruction of the 20th Century.
I wrote before how they wanted to take away the local tax deductions.
A snippet of the new stuff:
The Pro-life party wants to end the tax credit for adoption.
Then, I found this one, which will hurt those trying to get PhD’s. Then again, we know how much they despise the educated.
Claus Wilke @ClausWilke
1. GOP tax bill would tax tuition wavers for grad students. This would be a disaster for US STEM PhD education.
2. Currently, STEM PhDs make about $30K per year and get tuition wavers. They can do their PhD without taking on debt, but barely so.
3. If they had to pay taxes on a calculated $50-$60K income (incl. tuition), the actual income would not cover living expenses anymore.
4. At that point, a PhD would not be a viable choice anymore, except for the independently wealthy.
5. Maybe private schools could somehow work around this by charging different tuition for grad students and undergrads.
6. But state schools would likely not be able to do that, due to various laws and regulations.
7. So, no more STEM PhDs at state schools in the US.
The GOP Is Proposing a 250 Percent Tax Hike on Millions of Americans
By David Cay Johnson
DC Report November 2, 2017, 1:28 PM GMT
The GOP just declared war on the strivers who start their own businesses.
Or to put it another way: The nice young couple who just opened their own independent coffee shop around the corner will likely be hit with a huge tax increase—as much as 250%—while the corporation that operates thousands of coffee shops all around the world is getting its taxes cut 43%.
The complicated new bill (remember when the GOP promised tax simplicity?) also lavishes federal tax favors on rich individuals and on those who live in low tax states.
No wonder the GOP developed the nearly 500-page tax bill in secret. Had the public’s business been conducted in public, this bill simply would not exist. But it may become law because, if there is anything we know about Washington in the age of Trump, it is that our elected leaders don’t listen to us, they listen to the political donor class, and in Trump’s case, to those advisers he says reside in his head.
So, here are some more parts of the ‘ tax plan’. Can’t be the GOP if they’re not trying to destroy healthcare.

REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBERS THINK A $450K SALARY IS MIDDLE CLASS
BY NICOLE GOODKIND ON 11/3/17 AT 1:08 PM
That’s rich! Republicans suddenly believe that one percenters are barely struggling to be in the middle class, party officials revealed.
On Thursday, House Republicans issued a fact sheet about their new tax cut plan that referred to Americans earning $450,000 a year as “low- and middle-income” — even though that income level would put those taxpayers in the top 0.5 percent of all individual Americans.
The median household income in the United States is $59,039, after all.
The GOP made the announcement as part of the rollout of the tax cut plan, saying they would cut tax rates from 39.6 percent to 35 percent for those $450,000-earning middle class members — but the announcement was quickly overshadowed by the Republicans’ bizarre understanding of wealth.
Scope of Mueller’s probe worries Team Trump and its allies

In police dramas on television, there are certain plot developments that give away the game. For example, when detectives show up at a suspect’s home, and the suspect seems concerned about the police looking beneath his shed, it’s a safe bet there’s some incriminating evidence under that shed.
With this in mind, I’m fascinated by Trump World talking publicly about the areas it wants Special Counsel Robert Mueller to avoid.
………………………………
What’s more, the warnings don’t appear to be working. The Washington Post noted yesterday that Mueller’s interest in Russian contacts “may extend to Trump’s business, as well, with the special counsel’s office recently asking for records related to a failed 2015 proposal for a Moscow Trump Tower, according to a person familiar with the request.”
If the president’s rhetoric from July reflected his genuine intentions, this presumably means Trump will be more inclined to take steps to fire Mueller and derail the investigation.
Trump reportedly told tribal leaders to ignore federal laws
11/06/17 12:49 PM
By Steve Benen
The Constitution’s Article II doesn’t go into a lot of detail when describing the duties of the president, but it does include a rather specific responsibility: a president, the Constitution mandates, “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”
Whether Donald Trump cares about honoring this obligation is open to some debate. Axios, for example, published a report yesterday on a recent meeting in which the president allegedly told a group of people they should feel free to ignore federal laws.
………………
The chiefs explained to Trump that there were regulatory barriers preventing them from getting at their energy. Trump replied: “But now it’s me. The government’s different now. Obama’s gone; and we’re doing things differently here.”
As Axios described the scene, it was at this point in which the tribal leaders paused, looked at each other, and seemed uncertain about how to proceed.
Trump, however, was reportedly emphatic, telling one of the tribal leaders, “Chief, chief, what are they going to do? Once you get it out of the ground are they going to make you put it back in there? I mean, once it’s out of the ground it can’t go back in there. You’ve just got to do it. I’m telling you, chief, you’ve just got to do it.”
