Santa Baby” was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt with Henri René and his orchestra in New York City, in July, 1953. It was released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-5502 (in the USA),[2] and by EMI on the His Master’s Voice label as catalog number B 10728. The song was a huge hit for Kitt, and she later said that it was one of her favorite songs to record; she reprised it in the 1954 film New Faces. Kitt re-recorded the sing for Kapp Records in 1963, using a more uptempo arrangement (Madonna‘s popular rendition for the 1987 charity album A Very Special Christmas was based on this latter version). In 1954, Kitt recorded a new version of the song with new lyrics titled “This Year’s Santa Baby”, to no commercial success. Writers listed did not change.

The song is heard in the films Driving Miss Daisy (1989), Elf (2003), and Boynton Beach Club (2005).

  2. Y’all better listen to Doug Jones. @Democrats better follow and take a page from his play book. He has shown how to get it done. The Jones campaign knocked on 300, 000 doors and rang 1.2 million phones.

    *BOOM*!

  3. DAYUMM Oh they brutally kicked Omarosa to the curb and danced about it.

My day just keeps getting better and better. Jones wins in Alabama and Omarosa Manigault is kicked out of the WH! I never want to hear anyone say ever again that God doesn’t answer prayers. I donated to Jones’ campaign and watched the race closely, but I never stop praying and asking God for a miracle, and He delivered right on time!

April Ryan needs to stop.. Seriously..

      Enough..

Incredibly petty and unbecoming of a supposed serious news journalist…

You’ve got KellyAnne Conway etc. still desecrating the People’s House, and yet Omarosa who never really had any presence …not even as window dressing, is getting all this entirely gossipy attention..

Not even Sebastian Gorka who did real damage got a sliver of this coverage..

Just look at the gleeful look on the faces of the complicits republican ‘spokeswoman’ Dana Bash and the slimy Gloria Boger..

April Ryan ought to know better..

This is for those 2 women and others like them, more than about Omarosa..

I’ve read all the tsk-tsking on just how ‘vulgar’ she was, and the emphasis on other such negatives and fast stereotypes …

By the very same folks who think it’s funny and ‘harmless’ when the buffoon and folk like Bannon curse and rage.. and abuse even complete strangers..

Shouldn’t overlook the impact Rep. Terri Sewell, the lone Democrat and African American in Alabama’s congressional delegation, likely had in turning out black voters for Doug Jones the Alabama senate race.

    I don’t get it..

Is it really the media’s job to keep going on about how the buffoon desperately ‘needs a win’.. And they go on about it even as they push this with regard to what are potential policy ‘wins’ that are obviously terrible and potentially devastating to so many.. But get the buffoon wired..

Why won’t they spend time instead explaining in detail, the bogus, lopsided, awful policies in the making, like the tax cuts for the wealthy etc., to Americans in general ..and the buffoon and his dumb alt-right supporters in particular..

  15. eliihass says:

    • eliihass says:

      SG,

Omarosa’s ‘vulgarities’ certainly can’t touch, don’t begin to touch, and don’t get any worse than the buffoon’s ..Same buffoon entrusted with our nuclear codes… Same buffoon Kelly, the Alt-Right former general, staked his military service, dead son and whatever ‘credibility’ he once was said to have for, .. and proudly ‘clicks’ with ‘ideologically’’ ..and how parades about with, proudly exerting his ‘influence’ over, and puffing his chest as his chosen Svengali du jour..

Omarosa was always an opportunist .. she and the also opportunistic to the ‘nth buffoon used each other for their various base purposes.. It was a transparently warped symbiotic ‘relationship’…

They never liked, respected or trusted her ..and neither did she them..

Omarosa may be a lot of things, but she’s keen on self-preservation, and is no fool..

She will squeal eventually.. A lot..

But, right now, Omarosa is the least of the country’s worries… or ours..

      She’s not our concern ..

I take neither pleasure or sadness in her leaving the racist hellhole she purposely, opportunistically, and deliberately inserted herself into …albeit, forcibly relegated to the fringes of it for the duration..

April Ryan might get a petty kick out of her firing since she and her once ‘bestie’ Omarosa fell out …but we need to keep our focus on what actually matters..

‘General’ Kelly is not our friend.. neither is he worthy of this framing of him as somehow so ‘offended’ by vulgarity..

      He isn’t..

He’s as usual only just racially selective in his pearl-clutching.. and rather glaringly all around disingenuous ..

He is as much a disgrace and self-serving and dishonorable and hollow, as is Omarose and the treasonous buffoon they’ve all knowingly hitched their wagons to..

When congressmen like him (Anthony Weiner comes to mind), are so over the top, they’re usually hiding some serious skeletons, and so tend to aggressively overcompensate – mostly to distract, preemptively whip up support, and to curry favor of wealthy party donor-owners … and it’s usually some perverted stuff ..

Omarosa was kicked out because she was useless and was a constant sower of dissent in the WH. She may have played a role in helping getting Trump elected, but in the end, her extreme loyalty to him wasn’t returned because Trump is loyal to no one other than himself.

    …………………………

The grassroots organizing in black communities by groups like local NAACP chapters was more muscular than it had even been in the 2016 general election. In the lead-up to Tuesday’s contest, voting-rights groups registered people with felonies, targeted awareness campaigns at people who might not have had proper ID, and focused specifically on knocking down the structures in place that keep black voters away from the polls. Their efforts immediately become a case study in how to do so in a region that has, since the Supreme Court’s 2013 Shelby County v. Holder decision curtailing the 1965 Voting Rights Act, become a bastion of new voter-suppression laws, including new voter-ID laws.

Minnesota governor set to name Franken’s Senate replacement
By Kyle Potter | AP December 13 at 1:13 AM

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton was set to reveal his choice Wednesday to replace Al Franken in the U.S. Senate, with the top contender seen as his longtime adviser Lt. Gov. Tina Smith.
Dayton has declined to answer questions about the appointment since Franken announced his impending resignation last week following allegations of sexual misconduct. In making the appointment, Dayton was weighing a short-term replacement against pressure from top Democrats in Washington to name someone who would run in 2018 in a special election to complete Franken’s term ending in 2020.
A Democratic official told The Associated Press last week that Dayton was ready to choose Smith as a placeholder before being pressured to appoint someone who could leverage the appointment into a 2018 run.
