Couple Adopts 7 Biological Siblings: ‘These Children Need a Home — We Have a Home’

A Florida couple who adopted seven children earlier this year is excited to be spending their first Christmas together as a family.

Sofia and DaShoan Olds, who have no biological children, adopted biological siblings Necia, Eric and Erica, Zavian, Dava, Keyon and Gentry in September after seeing the kids’ story on the news earlier this year.

“My wife sends me a Facebook message of a local news story about seven children who needed to find a home for the holidays and she asked me how I liked the idea,” DaShoan Olds told InsideEdition.com. “I said I liked the idea and, ‘Let’s see if we can make it happen.’”

That’s when the Olds, who both served overseas in Iraq, inquired about taking the children home with them.

Prior to their adoption, the kids had been living in separate foster homes but really wanted to find a home where they could all live together.

“We took our parenting classes in January. We sponsored them for birthdays, just volunteers at first and then they came to live out our house on June 2,” DaShoan Olds said. “We’re happy. We’re busier than ever, but we’re enjoying every moment, every day.”

The pair had always planned to adopt but thought it would involve just one or two children.

“It was just in the back of our mind, but we didn’t really focus on it then we saw the story and it was just like a light bulb that went off to say like, ‘This is for us. This is our time,’ Olds said. “These children need a home, we have a home. It’s time for us to be a blessing and take home these children.”

The couple adopted the seven children officially on Sept. 14. They feel like it was fate.

“It is somewhat easy because it’s like doing something you’re supposed to do. When you find a job that you love, it’s not really work,” Olds said.

The family plans to take a vacation for Christmas so the children can meet the rest of their new family.

    This is very preliminary math but right now – even factoring in all the gerrymandering – Democrats win at least 38 GOP US House seats at current numbers – and it could go as high as 60. My best current guess: Mid 40s. If you are thinking of running, DO IT.

    Back in May, The Atlantic had an interesting piece quoting a source close to the White House saying Donald Trump is “worried about” Michael Flynn, the former National Security Adviser.

    “[Trump] has questioned whether or not he should have fired Flynn,” the source said at the time. “They don’t know what Flynn’s going to say.”

    They still don’t. The difference is, Flynn has now pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his communications with Russia, and recently agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. What happens if the former National Security Adviser shares damaging information about the president and his team? The Washington Post reported overnight that Trump World has a plan.

    President Trump’s legal team plans to cast former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn as a liar seeking to protect himself if he accuses the president or his senior aides of any wrongdoing, according to three people familiar with the strategy.

    The approach would mark a sharp break from Trump’s previously sympathetic posture toward Flynn, whom he called a “wonderful man” when Flynn was ousted from the White House in February…. Attorneys for Trump and his top advisers have privately expressed confidence that Flynn does not have any evidence that could implicate the president or his White House team. But since Flynn’s cooperation agreement with prosecutors was made public earlier this month, the administration has been strategizing how to neutralize him in case the former national security adviser does make any claims.

    Of course, if the president and those in his immediate orbit didn’t do anything wrong, they shouldn’t be worried. The fact that they’re creating contingency strategies – which are being leaked to the press, warning Flynn of what’s coming – suggests Trump World isn’t altogether confident about the road ahead.

    Let’s be clear: there is existing documentary evidence that John Merrill did everything in his power to tilt the election to Moore, and it’s quite possible that at least a few of those things crossed the legal borderline. The last thing Merrill wants is a federal investigation that will expose everything he did to benefit Moore. Merrill needs to sweep everything under the rug ASAP.

    We have NUMEROUS instances of Attempted Voter Suppression from election day.
