Thursday Open Thread

We have to look behind the lingo politicians and voters use to justify their stance on issues that affect us.

Let’s look at the language here: “Gun control” vs Gun safety. What does each mean to you?

This has been the subject of one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American public by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime.

    Deflect, deflect, deflect..

And just like that, the easily distracted mediocre media, is all abuzz with a meeting that probably won’t make a bit of a difference..

And the Mueller Stormy stories are knocked off the news…

Everyone also forgets that this might be currently being engineered by Putin…Russia and No, Korea have a relationship… most of No. Korea’s nuclear power is courtesy of the nuclear scientists from the former USSR ..

Kim Jung Un has not even ever met China’s Xi..

And folks think this guy who murdered his uncle and brother because he was so paranoid and worried that they were going to overthrow him, is cowed by a dotard..

What everyone is missing is that the new So. Korea president has always been a pro-No. Korea guy..

Well fam, looks like you can be the most crooked, immoral, ignorant, racist, anti-Semitic, megalomaniac, sociopathic, narcissistic, treasonous conman colluding with a hostile foreign entity to decimate our fragile union, hard-won democracy, laws, protections and democratic institutions…

As long as you give the wealthy oligarchs a tax break, and fake-promise coal miners, poisoned and now unprotected thanks to reversal of protective regulations, the immediate return of the dying coal industry straining on its last gasps …and sucker former Dem allies – Union heads Leo Gerard and Richard Trumka with a potentially trade war inciting promise of tariffs on imported steel.. that won’t be because backdoor exemptions are being offered to countries that grovel or pay to play with the family business..

And even wheel out the poor coal men and steelworkers as props for your act at the People’s House – on the taxpayer dime too…and go all out with platitudes and fake-smile and over the top patronizing …even offering them a ‘tour’ of the Oval Office and photos and $2 signing pens too..

And voila, treasonous buffoon ‘wins’ and solidifies his ‘hold’.. And while we’re at it, even sleepy money launderer and geriatric crook Wilbur who lied about his net worth, gets props and a shout-out from Leo Gerard … who insists that Wilbur is on their side …and got it done..

    We are in trouble fam..

    • eliihass says:

He pled not guilty …because the alternative would be to flip for Mueller and a plea deal..

But he flips, and Putin will poison him and/or his family.. And he accepts a pardon, and Mueller gets him, because then he can’t plead the 5th.

He’s completely out of options …and between Mueller and a hard Russian place..

He’s probably going to die in jail; but better that than dying from poisoning from dioxin, polonium/nerve gas, a single gunshot …or thrown off a balcony..

  7. eliihass says:

Why oh why is the media going along with the nonstop gaslighting and improvisational act by David Dennison aka treasonous buffoon, who keeps pulling stuff out of his you know where simply to deflect and distract from Mueller and his recent flip Georgie Nader, and of course, Peggy Peterson and her attorney outsmarting greasy handbook attorney to corrupt buffoon, Michael Cohen..

    • Ametia says:

Like clockwork, every time Mueller turn up the heat, Donnie orange man POS distracts, and the media goes right there.

      • eliihass says:

Now he’s about to read a letter from Kim Jung Un…as if..

The buffoon forgets that Bill Clinton was personally invited to visit and to secure the release of Lisa Ling’s sister and the other girl..

I bet previous presidents got letters, but not one bragged about it, or used sensitive State secrets to advance their own personal agenda …or deflect from collusion with Russia ..

What cars are made in China fam..?

It’s so funny how you can tell when this bull-shitting dum-dum is repeating almost* verbatim words and whole sentences he’s heard from staff and friends …or stuff that’s been chewed up and spit in his mouth..

And thinking he’s slick, selectively and fleetingly sucking up to and currying favor with random low-info types or greedy oligarchs, varieties of disparate but easily bamboozled or greedily assuaged demographics … by essentially bribing/buying their protection of him, by selling them a worthless bill of goods – entirely for his own aggrandizement, and making a public spectacle and big to do about it too…

And today trying to buy favor, by being extra saccharine-sweet – complete with loud offer to take photos with them in the Oval Office…to which the hard-to read steel workers weren’t as enthused or visibly excited as he’d hoped..

As if they are easily-taken kids, handed free candy or promised tons of it, to get them to like you..

When Mueller, Stormy and her attorney show up, he tries to distract with some grand empty or dangerous and negatively far-reaching gesture..

I’ve told you from the start fam, this self-serving buffoon will burn our White House down before he’ll be dragged out of it..

And the longer they’re in it, and the more they find their footing, understand and are able to navigate their way around things, the harder it’ll be..

Look at Gary Cohn for instance, for all his wealth, he like the whole bunch of supposedly ‘wealthy’ group, got addicted to the People’s House and the awesome power/infrastructure that comes with it..

It’s all hard to give up..

And even harder for a bankrupt, blustering, cash-poor conman and treasonous cohort, who can’t believe their luck, and who like kids who’ve happened upon an open piñata warehouse, are busy lining their pockets as fast as they can by illegally and corruptly exploiting sacred sensitive security structures and access..

D.D. Adams is running in the Democratic primary in North Carolina’s 5th District.

“Adams clarified, “We’re not talking about taking away anybody’s guns. That won’t happen, but because of what’s been happening in our country, we’re becoming almost numb to it.”

She said automatic weapons, bump stocks and high-capacity magazines should be eliminated. “Nobody needs that, whether they are a hunter or anybody else,” said Adams.

In addition, she said guns should have similar licensing and registration as drivers and vehicles, as well as insurance. She also wants to ensure loopholes are eliminated, 24-hour waiting periods are enacted to purchase a weapon, and gun shows are closed.

Later, when asked by an audience member, both candidates said they would stand up to the National Rifle Association (NRA) and refuse funding for support of NRA goals, and they encouraged voters to vote out of office anyone accepting money from the NRA.

“My grandparents had guns in every corner of their four-room house they lived in. They kept the shells in bowls, but we knew as children, you didn’t touch them. They were there for protection if someone rolled up in the yard and tried to hurt the family and for food, to kill a hawk taking chickens, wolf, coyote, rattlesnakes out in the field,” said Adams. “I don’t have any problem standing up to the NRA, but young people, this is your time to stand up and make it happen.”

    Excerpt from https://www.aclu.org/blog/free-speech/rights-protesters/west-virginias-little-known-riot-act

“An obscure West Virginia law that came to light during the teachers strike gives police expansive powers to crack down on peaceful protesters. While the strike ended on Tuesday with a victory for the teachers, lawmakers should still address the deficiencies of the state’s “crimes against the peace” law — its literal riot act.

“The law, as interpreted by a 1946 court case, allows law enforcement officers to employ a range of troubling and archaic responses to groups engaging in “unlawful” behavior. Among other things, it allows them to force private individuals to help shut down the group, search homes nearby without a warrant, and impose guilt-by-association on anyone present if an officer is wounded. These terms are not far from the original “Riot Act” passed by the British Parliament more than 300 years ago — which makes sense, since the West Virginia law largely reflects language drafted in 1849.

“This law, as it stands, could have been used against the striking teachers — and it can still be used against all manner of protesters if it is not updated.”

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/06/us/politics/trump-immigrants-public-nutrition-services.html

“WASHINGTON — Immigrants hoping for permanent residence are dropping out of public nutrition programs even before prominent elements of the Trump administration’s proposed policy changes are enacted, fearful that participating could threaten their citizenship eligibility or put them at risk for deportation, according to program administrators.

“Statistics on participation in state and local efforts show fewer people are using an array of food programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (called WIC) as well as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (or SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) and food banks.

“The rumor mill is rampant, and the fear is palpable,” said Lisa David, president and chief executive of Public Health Solutions, a major WIC and SNAP provider for New York City. “The stakes for what could happen in the future are incredibly high, and people just aren’t willing to take that risk.”

A married man not only sleeping around, but having unprotected sex …And unprotected sex with a porn star …who by profession, has multiple partners …including those she perhaps also has unprotected sex with as part of her job..

That she had absolutely no problem acquiescing to this no protection bit, makes it obvious that perhaps this was something that came quite easily to her – perhaps by virtue of her work..

There are porn stars and prostitutes who swear that they aren’t that careless.. But it’s all so very unsavory …and dangerous..

Even if one doesn’t see the abject immorality of it all..

Can’t honestly apologize for judging the John and the servicer..

If one is a John or slut, they should expect to be shamed..

We as a society …and as women, need to stop blurring some of these lines..

There ought to be no normalizing or ‘de-stigmatizing’ of voluntary slutting..

‘Progress’ doesn’t mean abandoning all sense of decency, common sense and boundaries of responsible behavior..

Society still needs some observance of social mores …and a basic framework of right and wrong, good and bad…

There’s never going to be anything right for instance, about murder, racism, slavery, rape, stealing, incest, paedophilia, infidelity, prostitution..

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/07/opinion/parkland-florida-gun-control.html
<"All this is infuriating. But even if the federal government won’t pass meaningful new gun laws, states are doing so. Polls show that voters overwhelmingly favor universal background checks, a 21-year-old age restriction on buying firearms and a ban on high-capacity magazines.

Since the 1970s, the U.S. has engaged unintentionally in an international experiment, relaxing gun laws as the rest of the world has tightened access. Gun advocates argued that more guns would make us safer, but instead the U.S. now has 25 times the gun murder rate of other advanced countries.

"Indeed, since 1970, more Americans have died of gun violence, including murders, suicides and accidents (1.4 million), than in all the wars in American history (1.3 million).

"Whenever there is a mass shooting, there are inspiring individual stories like Anthony’s. But the larger picture is disgraceful: the president and congressional leaders dillydallying on the sidelines, sending “thoughts and prayers” and nothing else.

    ICYMI:

Shyt is heating up with Bobby Three Sticks.

The news was glorious last night:

Bobby Three Sticks has another songbird:

WASHINGTON — An adviser to the United Arab Emirates with ties to current and former aides to President Trump is cooperating with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, and gave testimony last week to a grand jury, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Mueller appears to be examining the influence of foreign money on Mr. Trump’s political activities and has asked witnesses about the possibility that the adviser, George Nader, funneled money from the Emirates to the president’s political efforts. It is illegal for foreign entities to contribute to campaigns or for Americans to knowingly accept foreign money for political races.

Mr. Nader, a Lebanese-American businessman who advises Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the effective ruler of the Emirates, also attended a January 2017 meeting in the Seychelles that Mr. Mueller’s investigators have examined. The meeting, convened by the crown prince, brought together a Russian investor close to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia with Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater and an informal adviser to Mr. Trump’s team during the presidential transition, according to three people familiar with the meeting.

Mr. Nader’s cooperation in the special counsel’s investigation could prompt new legal risks for the Trump administration, and Mr. Nader’s presence at the Seychelles meeting appears to connect him to the primary focus of Mr. Mueller’s investigation: examining Russian interference during the 2016 presidential campaign.

How’s this for fly as shyt in rolling up on someone and snatching them up..LOL

Mr. Nader was first served with search warrants and a grand jury subpoena on Jan. 17, shortly after landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, according to two people familiar with the episode. He had intended to travel on to Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s Florida estate, to celebrate the president’s first year in office, but the F.B.I. had other plans, questioning him for more than two hours and seizing his electronics.

And, his singing has produced results:

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III has gathered evidence that a secret meeting in the Seychelles just before the inauguration of Donald Trump was an effort to establish a back channel between the incoming administration and the Kremlin — apparently contradicting statements made to lawmakers by one of its participants, according to people familiar with the matter.
