      A man so hollow, so superficial, so craven he’ll do just about anything for attention and to avoid accountability, or taking responsibility …and to extricate himself from illegal schemes and negative situations he actively aided and abetted and exploits..

      The out of left field announcement re: meeting with the North Korean guy, was as usual all about him trying to recapture the news cycle and controlling the narrative.. And the media as usual fell for it, and so it worked…

      If this megalomaniac will dangle North Korea as distraction from his personal woes, just imagine what he’s willing to do, say and what he’s done and said to get his way, mislead, deflect, distract and to control..

      Nothing is sacred and nothing is exempt from his shenanigans and crooked and outsized and reckless need and reach to self-preserve ..

    Lawyers representing President Donald Trump are seeking a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller to end his investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and obstruction of justice for the firing of ex-FBI director James Comey.

    The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Trump’s lawyers may negotiate a meeting between the president and the special counsel “as leverage to spur a conclusion to the Russia investigation.”

    According to a source close to the investigation who spoke with the Journal, the president’s legal team is considering potentially using a sit-down meeting with Mueller in exchange for a number of factors, “including that the special counsel commit to a date for concluding at least the Trump-related portion of the investigation.” One deadline they floated was 60 days after said meeting, the source told the Journal.

    Beyond weighing strategies to hurry the conclusion of the investigation, Trump’s lawyers are also reportedly considering ways to strike an agreement with the special counsel “on the scope of his questioning of the president,” other sources familiar with the matter told the Journal. The president’s legal team expect those questions “to focus largely on his decision to fire former national security adviser Mike Flynn and former FBI director James Comey,” the report continued.

    The House Judiciary Committee held a public hearing on the bill by state Sen. Rodger Smitherman, a Democrat from Birmingham. The bill, which was approved by the Senate in January, would require the officer to record the race of a person pulled over in a traffic stop. Police agencies would submit data annually to the state attorney general’s office.

    “In the world I live in it’s: DWB— Driving While Black,” Smitherman said. He described being stopped by police while driving one of his luxury vehicles in predominantly white neighborhoods when he was sure he had not committed a traffic offense. He said in one instance he was riding with his wife, who is a circuit judge.

    Rep. Merika Coleman, a Democrat from Pleasant Grove, said “every person of color in this room” knows what it is like to stopped for “absolutely no reason but for the color of our skin.”

    “I wish every last one of you could walk a mile in our shoes,” she said. “There is a conversation that we have with our children, that some of you don’t have to have with your children.”

      I can’t buy a toy like that for my Penelope because she tends to tear up every one of them. I adopted her from our local shelter last year. She’s a lab-mix. She’s a sweet baby, but she’s rough on her stuffed toys. I researched her breed and discovered that labs have a natural tendency to chew and it sometimes lasts until they’re 3 or 4 years old. Penelope just turned one last September, so I’m looking at maybe 3 more years before her fascination with chewing up stuffed items subsides. So far, she’s chewed up three beds, one of them being a rather expensive sofa-type bed.

    Floyd Bixler McKissick (March 9, 1922 – April 28, 1991 )became the first African-American student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Law School.

    In 1966 he became leader of CORE, the Congress of Racial Equality, taking over from James L. Farmer, Jr. A supporter of Black Power, he turned CORE into a more radical movement. In 1968, McKissick left CORE to found Soul City in Warren County, North Carolina.

    He became a state district court judge in 1990 and died on April 28, 1991. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. </blockquote)

    On March 9, Associate Justice Joseph Story delivered the Court’s decision. Article IX of Pinckney’s Treaty was ruled off topic since the Africans in question were never legal property. They were not criminals, as the U.S. Attorney’s Office argued, but rather “unlawfully kidnapped, and forcibly and wrongfully carried on board a certain vessel.”

    …The Africans greeted the news of the Supreme Court’s decision with joy. Abolitionist supporters took the survivors – 36 men and boys and three girls – to Farmington, a village considered “Grand Central Station” on the Underground Railroad. Their residents had agreed to have the Africans stay there until they could return to their homeland. Some households took them in; supporters also provided barracks for them.

    The Amistad Committee instructed the Africans in English and Christianity, and raised funds to pay for their return home. Along with several missionaries, in 1842 the surviving 39 Africans sailed to Sierra Leone. The Americans constructed a mission in Mendiland.
