While shouting “I’m not even doing nothing! I’m not even fighting back!” former NFL defensive back Desmond Marrow was grabbed by police and slammed to the ground.
According to 11Alive news, however, Marrow appeared to go limp after being pinned to the ground by three white Henry County Police officers.
Marrow was warned he was going to get tased, handcuffed first then pressed against a white truck. One officer lifted his right leg and Marrow was then thrown to the ground.

Off camera, a person can be heard saying that the incident is “unbelievable.”
An officer was seen leaning near Marrow’s head with his hands around the handcuffed man’s throat.
“I can’t breathe,” Marrow can be heard saying. The plea for help a haunting reminder of the chokehold from New York Police that killed Eric Garner.
Marrow then went completely limp.
In a Facebook post, Marrow explained that officers tried to say that he had a gun in his pocket, however, it was only a cell phone. He said that the police “knocked my teeth out, slammed me on my head and choked me out until I was unconscious. In addition I suffered a shoulder strain and a concussion.”
In a separate interview, Marrow revealed how terrifying the incident was.
“I was fully cooperating with the officers with ZERO resistance. I thought I was going to die. I was sure I was passing out or dying.”
No videos show what occurred that led to the incident. It is unclear if there is any body cam video.

Black woman golfer: It was like we had targets on our backs

YORK, Pa. — When she walks onto a golf course as one of the few black women on the links, Sandra Harrison fills with pride and hopes her play will dispel stereotypes and disarm her fellow players — who are often white and male.
What she felt playing at the Grandview Golf Club as a new member in her community could not have been more opposite, Harrison said. The 59-year-old retiree said she was traumatized, rattled and hurt after she said she and the group of black women she was playing with were run off the course before police were called when a white man claimed the women were playing too slowly.
“It was like we were playing with targets on our backs,” Harrison said. “What other reason could there be other than we were guilty of being black while golfing?”

It’s part of golf etiquette that slow-moving players let groups behind them play through if they are holding things up, and often golf courses have employees who monitor the pace of play, letting golfers know when they are taking too long.
The five are part of a larger group of local women known as Sisters in the Fairway. The group has been around for at least a decade, and all of its members are experienced players who have golfed all over the country and world. They’re very familiar with golf etiquette.
“Our name implies that we want to live life in a fair way,” Harrison said. We want to be sisters in the fairway, in golf and in life.”

4-year-old boy is swept out to sea while walking on the Outer Banks with his mom

A 4-year-old boy was walking with his mother in shallow waters on a beach in Kitty Hawk, N.C., on Wednesday afternoon when a wave came crashing onto shore with ferocity.
The current knocked the family off their feet, ripping the young boy away from his mother and carrying him out to sea. Scouring the water for her son as another wave rushed in, the mother “lost sight of him in the surf,” U.S. Coast Guard officials said. He was gone.
At about 4 p.m., Coast Guard, police and fire authorities launched a search for the missing boy, who had reportedly been visiting with his family on vacation from their home in Manchester, N.H., police officials told the New Hampshire Union Leader.

But on Thursday morning, Johnson wrote that all efforts were “on recovery to offer this family closure.”
“If you happen upon something at the beach that requires a closer inspection by authorities please limit your communication to 911,” he wrote. “Continued well wishes and calls for peace are welcomed. We will pass all of them along to the family. Please continue to join us in thought and prayer as we mourn with them this tragic loss.”
The family has not been identified, but police told the Union Leader that the boy was the family’s only child.
On Thursday morning, a small group of local residents gathered at the beach, arranging shells in the sand in the shape of a heart. It became an impromptu memorial that grew throughout the day as more locals stopped by to pay their respects to the family. “I just wanted to reach out in some way to the parents,” Mary St. Claire Dunstan told reporter Sam Walker, of the Outer Banks Voice. “My heart is breaking for them.”

In an effort to fight that trend, which has only gotten worse thanks to gentrification, rising income and wealth inequality throughout the city’s five boroughs, schools on the Upper West Side—one of the wealthiest and whitest sections of Manhattan—are looking to adopt a plan that would require all local middle schools to reserve a quarter of their seats for students who score below grade level on state English and math tests.
The plan is designed to make Upper West Side schools more reflective of New York City’s diverse demographics, and make sure underprivileged students have access to the sorts of advantages and resources that the neighborhood’s well-funded schools can provide.
Well, that plan didn’t go over so well in a room full of wealthy white parents.

At the end of Donald Trump’s odd interview on Fox News this morning, the president threw something of a tantrum on the air, in response to a question about answering questions from Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Trump’s response was a lengthy tirade, leading to this:
As Trump tried to ramble some more, the Fox hosts rushed him off the phone, with one of them reminding the president he has “a million things to do.” That, in itself, was a remarkable moment: ordinarily, journalists talking to an interview-shy president would want to keep the conversation going as long as possible. This morning, the hosts of “Fox & Friends” themselves ended the interview, stopping a highly agitated Trump before he could embarrass himself further.
Curious media strategies notwithstanding, it was no small development to hear the president – the subject of an ongoing investigation – talk openly about intervening with the Justice Department. In fact, Trump was rather explicit during the interview, arguing that he wants federal law enforcement officials to stop investigating his alleged crimes and start investigating his perceived foes.

In 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous, landmark ruling in Brown v. Board of Education, striking down school segregation, and making clear that “separate but equal” is inherently unequal. It was one of the most important judicial rulings in American history.
With this in mind, it recently came as a surprise when one of Donald Trump’s judicial nominees wouldn’t say whether she believes the case was decided the right way.
This week, it happened again. Andrew Oldham, a Trump nominee for the Fifth Circuit of Appeals, was asked the same question and answered the same way.

About current So. Korean President Moon Jae-in:
A former student activist, human rights lawyer, and previously a member of the Democratic United Party, was then elected the leader of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) in 2015.
His parents were refugees from South Hamgyeong Province (currently in North Korea) who fled their native city of Hungnam during the Hungnam evacuation.
He majored in law, was arrested, convicted, and imprisoned and expelled from the university after he organized a student protest against the Yushin Constitution. Later, he was conscripted into the military and assigned to the South Korean special forces, where he participated in “Operation Paul Bunyan” during the Axe murder incident.
After his discharge, he passed the Bar Exam and was admitted to the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He graduated second in his class but was not admitted to become a judge or government prosecutor due to his history of activism. Moon became a private lawyer instead.
Moon who previously narrowly defeated in 2012, was sworn in in May 2017 after the December 2016 impeachment of So. Korea’s first female president Park Geun-hye (a conservative and daughter of former president Park Chung-hee – 1963 -1979). Park’s mother was killed in 1974 by a Japanese-born ethnic Korean sympathizer of North Korea while attempting to assassinate Park’s father then President Park Chung-hee – who was later assassinated by his own intelligence chief, Kim Jae-gyu, in 1979.
Park Geun-hye was sentenced 2 weeks ago to 24 years in prison on charges related to influence-peddling by her friend and top aide.
Current President Moon Jae-in’s campaign promises in 2017 included his announced goal to create 810,000 public sector jobs through raising taxes on the wealthy.
And the peaceful reunification between the two Koreas.
He was both widely criticized and widely praised for his comments stating that his first visit if elected president would be to visit North Korea.
