Truth! If the stenographers were really doing their jobs, we wouldn’t need to hear the ugly truths from comedians. Seriously, the job titles are backwards. The so-called hournos are the comedians

      From the article:

“It is a source of simultaneous pain and pride that Alabama’s progress has often been the result of force, of violent push and pull, among conflicting visions of the state, from the Civil War to the civil-rights movement and beyond. Throughout, the burden of guilt has usually been on black people to bear and to somehow escape. Now, a visitor to Montgomery can take a leisurely walk from the state capitol to a museum on the Confederacy, to another museum on the Freedom Riders. The memorial to the victims of lynching is a necessary addition to that landscape, if only to remind Alabamians, and other Americans, that the terror it represents will no longer be overlooked.”

Democratic senators scrutinize Koch brothers’ ‘infiltration’ of Trump team

Senators say Koch-linked figures are driving environmental policy, as résumés obtained by the Guardian and Documented show ties between staffers and network

Democratic senators are demanding information about what they call the Koch brothers’ “infiltration” of the Trump administration, charging that Koch-linked personnel have secured key federal jobs and are determining US environmental and public health policy.

The senators – including Sheldon Whitehouse, Edward Markey, Catherine Cortez Masto, Tom Udall, Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren – sent letters to eight government bodies and the White House requesting “information related to efforts by Charles and David Koch, Koch Industries, and the numerous groups they fund to influence decisions”.

The Koch network includes advocacy groups and thinktanks funded by the billionaire brothers that tend to advance a stridently conservative agenda, including promoting energy extraction within the US and the sloughing off of regulations.

Résumés obtained through public records requests by the Guardian and Documented, a government watchdog group, show the close links between high-ranking federal staffers and the Koch network.

Why let your hand be shown on the case of the money.

Schiff: Money laundering notably absent from questions for Trump

Adam Schiff, top Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee, talks with Rachel Maddow about his first impressions of a list of questions Robert Mueller would reportedly like to have Donald Trump answer, and points out that money laundering does not appear to be a theme of the questions despite promising leads on that front.

These women were harassed by the Chronister father and son (Jordan is a co-owner of the golf club), because they wanted to revoke their memberships. They harass the women almost as soon as they started their game hoping to start an aggressive confrontation so they could call the police. When that didn’t happen, they called the police anyhow.

I hope to God these women sue and end up owning that golf club.

From the article: “…On just the second hole, former York County Commissioner Steve Chronister was pushy and aggressive, falsely accusing us of slowing down the other players. He said he was refunding our membership, so we would leave. We reminded him that we paid and wanted to play.”

AKA sorority chapter at small Georgia college embroiled in sexual misconduct investigation
    Kyle Swenson, Amber Ferguson

Late last March, before a gymnasium packed tight with friends and family, 21 young women from Fort Valley State University in central Georgia marked a milestone.

Glowing with pride, wearing matching black dresses, pearls and pink hats, the undergraduates were officially “crossing over” into the campus’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., one of the oldest and most-esteemed black Greek campus organizations in the country.

But just a month later, the Fort Valley chapter of the same sorority is now bogged down in a scandal over allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment.

Rolling Out, an Atlanta-based online magazine, reported that the controversy involves allegations that recent members of the sorority were involved in a sex ring to pay for pledging the organization. Citing unnamed sources, the magazine alleged that customers included local businessmen and politicians.

The controversy currently centers on Alecia Johnson, a Fort Valley State employee and graduate adviser to the campus’s AKA chapter, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Johnson, an AKA member, resigned her position in the university’s president’s office as news of a criminal investigation broke on campus in April. The scandal has lit a firestorm of speculation on social media and in the tightknit world of historically black colleges and universities.

  11. We all had to evacuate from our homes last night. An 18 wheeler filled with propane gas flipped over close to our homes and police asked everyone to leave. My son and husband went to the accident area and my son helped pull the guy out. And he lived. They took the guy to the hospital and he ran away. 😮

    Man,

When Maddow started reading those questions on the air, I couldn’t stop laughing. They were well thought out. They had context. They were direct.

And, they’re being posed to a man who needs pictures in the Presidential Daily Briefing and doesn’t want it to be longer than, what, 2 pages? On page 3, he skips out…..

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Rational, thinking people, will look at the questions and say – Yes, a President of the United States should be able to answer these questions.

I wasn’t including the GOP, who will be screeching that this is a ‘ perjury trap’ list.

Cops called to UWS apartment for ‘burglary in progress’ but find black tenant, former White House staffer moving in
    POSTED 6:33 PM, APRIL 30, 2018,
    BY ANDREW RAMOS,

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan — It was an unsolicited homecoming that left Bronx native Darren Martin unsettled.

After spending several years working on Capitol Hill and in the White House with the Obama Administration, Martin recently made the move back to New York, getting a job with the city and finding a unit in a 5-story walk-up on the Upper West Side.

On moving day this past Friday, Martin got an unexpected visit from the NYPD.

“I’m in my apartment but you know – you can’t go nowhere without the cops following me,” Martin said during the encounter live streamed via Instagram.

Turns out, someone called 911 to report a “burglary in progress” and the suspect was the building’s brand new tenant – Martin.

“Somebody called the cops on me in my own building,” he told viewers who were tuning in to watch the live video. “About how many are ya’ll? About six of ya’ll showed up, rolled up on me.”

He has a packed work schedule and that was the only time he had to move into the building.

“I didn’t really think anyone was going to call the cops on me because I mean – I was moving into the building.”
