John Boehner needs to just stay in hiding and keep stuffing his cowardly, progress-blocking pie hole with that now suddenly conveniently selectively ‘legitimate’ marijuana money ..

The presence of an ignorant, corrupt, treasonous buffoon holding the nuclear codes and the people’s house hostage, thanks to years of Boehner and his flim-flam party filled with greedy, corrupt, treasonous racists.. does not in any way absolve or rehabilitate Boehner in the eyes of the world..

Why the FBI Had to ‘Spy’ On the Trump Campaign
    by Martin Longman
    May 31, 2018

    …………………………………….

This wasn’t something they took on lightly, and in naming the investigation Crossfire Hurricane they were perhaps acknowledging that they knew they were wading into Hell. But they had received credible information from the Australians that Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos had been aware the Russians had obtained thousands of Clinton emails prior to them being released. There were three reasons the FBI needed to follow-up on that lead. The first was that, while they had evidence that implicated the Russians in the hacks they didn’t have anything that could be called incontrovertible proof. And, even if they were confident that Russians were involved, anything that might help them understand how the operation was organized and authorized would be vital for both investigatory and prophylactic reasons. Confirming that Papadopolous had foreknowledge and learning how he obtained it was therefore of paramount importance from both a legal and a national security point of view.

The second reason the FBI needed to look carefully at Papadopoulos was to learn if he had shared what he knew not only in a drunken exchange with an Australian diplomat but also with members of the Trump campaign. And, if he had shared that information with people in the campaign, the FBI needed to know why no one in the campaign had told the FBI about it. If the campaign was not reporting it, perhaps they were instead seeking to exploit the crime to their own advantage. And that would open campaign officials, and perhaps the candidate himself up to potential blackmail, as the Russians could always threaten to reveal what they had done. Even if Trump had no awareness that some people in his orbit were coordinating with the hackers, he’d presumably want to know if people on his team had been compromised.

And that gets to the third reason for looking at Papadopoulos. If he was in some way compromised or even working as an agent of a foreign power, that would be a national security threat given his position as a foreign policy adviser who might reasonably be expected to land an important position in any future Trump administration. These were all valid counterintelligence concerns.

Now, the counterintelligence investigation wasn’t formally opened until July 31, 2016, but Stefan Halper made his first contact with Carter Page on July 11 when Page made an appearance at a Cambridge University symposium. This discrepancy in the timeline has been used to raise doubts about when the FBI first began investigating the Trump campaign for possible collusion. I definitely understand the suspicion here, but I think it’s probably overblown.

Trump Is Openly Looting the Country, and There’s No One to Stop Him
    by David Atkins
    May 26, 2018

The corruption scandals emanating from the White House are coming faster than even news junkies can process, much less the general public. Worse, it’s not even hidden. It’s all right out in the open.

Let’s take a quick look. First, Trump has committed to protect a Chinese firm, ZTE, that has been deemed a potential security threat. He is doing this against a fierce bipartisan backlash. Why? Trump and the White House literally won’t say. But the recent Chinese investment of $500 million into a Trump hotel in Indonesia right before Trump’s decision might have something to do with it:

Trump’s tweets, in other words, aren’t picking a side in an internal disagreement about trade policy. At least, they aren’t just doing that. They appear to involve overruling his whole national security team’s assessment of ZTE’s role in the world. And it happened with no explanation, no background briefing, and seemingly no consultation with the relevant officials.

But it also happened the same week a Chinese state-owned company came through with hundreds of millions of dollars in loans, some of which will go to facilitate the construction of Trump-branded properties in Indonesia.

The White House has no other credible explanation. It’s just out in the open.

Rudy Giuliani Concedes That Impeachment Is Coming
    by Martin Longman
    May 28, 2018

    …………………………………….

This is an admission that Trump fully expects Mueller to deliver a report to Congress meriting an inquiry on possible impeachment. Eventually, Giuliani says, the House of Representatives will be faced with the choice of whether or not to impeach the president. Potentially, the Senate will be forced to decide whether to convict or remove the president. Giuliani doesn’t say that this is a possibility. It says it is a certainty. And that’s a long way from what he said when he was first hired, which was that the whole thing would be wrapped up in a couple of weeks.

I see no particular reason to think Giuliani and Trump are wrong about this prediction. But, either way, they’ve clearly decided that the best way to defend the president now is to begin the political fight early while Mueller is still compelled to stay mum.

Impeachment is a political matter that is fought over legal principles. If only one side is fighting politically, then that side is winning.

But they have a lot of work to do to delegitimize this investigation if they have any hope of countering the case Mueller is assembling. Once the facts are placed on the table, the advantage will shift hard in the other direction.

But D’Souza needs to enjoy his fleeting 7 minutes of his signature childish, petty, lies, taunts and insults, because something tells me that Karma isn’t quite done yet with him and his fake, form of cruel, debased, adulterous, immoral chrustiannnity..

Native Americans Boldly Announce They Are ‘Untamed and Unapologetic’
    by Nancy LeTourneau
    May 31, 2018

During his commencement address at the Naval Academy, Trump gave nod to white supremacy when he said that “our ancestors tamed a continent,” adding that “we are not going to apologize for America.”

Sarah Sunshine Manning, a citizen of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Idaho and Nevada, wrote an indigenous response.

This knowledge seems rudimentary, and yet it’s not: The same ships that transported the “American dream” from 15th century Europe likewise delivered a nightmare to indigenous lands now known as America—a nightmare that would persist for centuries for millions of indigenous people, African slaves and their many descendants. But it was far beyond a nightmare. It all was callously and painfully real…

Trump’s remarks, true to white supremacy and American colonial form, hark back to the very first classifications of indigenous peoples as untamed savages. The humanity of indigenous peoples and our right to life was once again denied by Trump’s words, anti-Indianness recharged, by the man tasked to lead a nation that he and many others continue to arrogantly dub “the greatest,” admiring their own reflection in the mirror while selectively narrowing their gaze to exclude their brutal, white supremacist past and present.

It was from Manning that I learned about #UntamedandUnapologetic on Twitter. I encourage you to go take a look and be inspired.

In new reversal, Trump says he didn’t fire Comey over Russia

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump says he didn’t fire FBI Director James Comey over the Russia investigation, despite previously citing that as the reason.

Trump tweeted Thursday: “Not that it matters but I never fired James Comey because of Russia! The Corrupt Mainstream Media loves to keep pushing that narrative, but they know it is not true!”

Trump fired Comey in May 2017. A few days later, Trump told NBC’s Lester Holt he was thinking of “this Russia thing” when he fired Comey. The New York Times reported Trump told Russian diplomats in the Oval Office that month Comey’s dismissal had “taken off” pressure he faced “because of Russia.”

Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s attorney, told Fox News Trump fired Comey because Comey wouldn’t state “that he wasn’t a target” of the Russia probe.
