Back with more Immigration information.

Now, their racism is endangering the National Security of the United States. They would rather be racist, than to keep America secure.

US Army quietly discharging immigrant recruits

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Some immigrant U.S. Army reservists and recruits who enlisted in the military with a promised path to citizenship are being abruptly discharged, the Associated Press has learned.

The AP was unable to quantify how many men and women who enlisted through the special recruitment program have been booted from the Army, but immigration attorneys say they know of more than 40 who have been discharged or whose status has become questionable, jeopardizing their futures.

“It was my dream to serve in the military,” said reservist Lucas Calixto, a Brazilian immigrant who filed a lawsuit against the Army last week. “Since this country has been so good to me, I thought it was the least I could do to give back to my adopted country and serve in the United States military.”

Some of the service members say they were not told why they were being discharged. Others who pressed for answers said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them.

Spokespeople for the Pentagon and the Army said that, due to the pending litigation, they were unable to explain the discharges or respond to questions about whether there have been policy changes in any of the military branches.

Eligible recruits are required to have legal status in the U.S., such as a student visa, before enlisting. More than 5,000 immigrants were recruited into the program in 2016, and an estimated 10,000 are currently serving. Most go the Army, but some also go to the other military branches.

To become citizens, the service members need an honorable service designation, which can come after even just a few days at boot camp. But the recently discharged service members have had their basic training delayed, so they can’t be naturalized.

Margaret Stock, an Alaska-based immigration attorney and a retired Army Reserve lieutenant colonel who helped create the immigrant recruitment program, said she’s been inundated over the past several days by recruits who have been abruptly discharged.

All had signed enlistment contracts and taken an Army oath, Stock said. Many were reservists who had been attending unit drills, receiving pay and undergoing training, while others had been in a “delayed entry” program, she said.

“Immigrants have been serving in the Army since 1775,” Stock said. “We wouldn’t have won the revolution without immigrants. And we’re not going to win the global war on terrorism today without immigrants.”

Stock said the service members she’s heard from had been told the Defense Department had not managed to put them through extensive background checks, which include CIA, FBI and National Intelligence Agency screenings and counterintelligence interviews. Therefore, by default, they do not meet the background check requirement.

“It’s a vicious cycle,” she said.

You know that the security clearance thing is bullshyt, don’t you? When we have people running all over this White House WITHOUT SECURITY CLEARANCES…THIS is what they’re trying to deny these people the opportunity to serve.

These folks have CHOSEN to put their lives on the line for this country – which is more than ANYONE NAMED TRUMP has ever done…
And, they have the nerve to renege on these people?
Oh, we’re just overflowing with military recruits? No, I don’t think so.
The are willing, because of their RACISM, to endanger the National Security of this country. Like we have soldiers we can throw away.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Of course, look at the names in the article. Look at the countries…as always, they have something in common….
Uh huh

And, if you think it’s just a handful, come on, now. Don’t be silly.

Now this sent me through rage and physical ache.
If they did it to one child, they did it to many…YOU MUST KNOW THAT!!

‘He was full of dirt and lice’: Court documents describe cruel treatment of migrant kids, families

Hundreds of pages of sworn affidavits and court documents from forcibly separated migrant parents, immigration attorneys, immigrant rights groups and others reveal intentional cruelty, neglect and chaos behind the Trump administration’s barbaric “zero tolerance” policy that has torn thousands of children from families at the U.S./Mexico border.

Over the past several weeks, officials have made it increasingly difficult for elected leaders and media to access both detention facilities and detained families. U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, among the first to attempt to access a children’s detention facility in Texas, was asked to leave the property. Scanning the pages of court documents, some tweeted by reporter Adam Klasfeld, gives an insight into why.

Angelica Rebeca Gonzalez-Garcia came to the U.S. on May 9 with her nine-year-old daughter, fleeing domestic violence in Guatemala. While Angelica was released on June 19, her daughter continues to be detained at a facility in Texas. In her declaration, the mother described being pressured into signing documents at the threat of having her daughter taken away, which they did anyway. But then, there was also the humiliation by border officials.

“In Guatemala do they celebrate Mother’s Day?” she says they asked her. “When I answered yes he said, ‘then Happy Mother’s Day’ because the next Sunday was Mother’s Day. I lowered my head so that my daughter would not see the tears forming in my eyes.”

“That particular act of cruelty astonished me then as it does now,” she continued. “I could not understand why they hated me so much, or wanted to hurt me so much.” Angelica said her daughter was taken from her the next day. She and other mothers separated from their children “sat next to each other in the cell and cried together and asked God to give us strength.”

State Clemency Official to Black Applicant: How Many Kids Do You Have? By How Many Different Mothers?
    July 7, 2018

After serving time for a felony, Florida resident Erwin Jones, appeared in court before Gov. Rick Scott (R) and the cabinet, sitting as the Executive Clemency Board, seeking to get his civil rights back, so he could vote, sit on a jury or run for public office.

However, Jones, a black man was subjected to racial discrimination as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis asked him a series of highly offensive questions, according to the Florida Phoenix.

During the June 14 meeting, Patronis asked Jones how many children he had, and “how many different mothers to those children [there are]?”

Patronis, a Republican also asked another man seeking clemency, William Reid Hicks, if he attended church or not.

U.S. Soybean Prices Crumble; US Farmers Suffer, Brazilian Farmers prosper
    July 6, 2018 at 12:17 pm EDT

Soybean prices in the U.S. and Brazil, the nations that account for roughly 80 percent of global exports, have taken drastically different paths thanks to Donald Trump’s trade war, Bloomberg reports.

In the U.S., average cash prices fell to about $7.79 a bushel this week, the lowest in almost a decade… Meanwhile in Brazil, exporters have been handed high times. Soybeans to be loaded in August at the nation’s Paranagua port fetched $2.21 a bushel more than Chicago futures as of Friday, the widest gap since data starts in 2014

I was a foster mom for a little Pomeranian. I had her sleep in a crate the first two nights I had her. When I went to put her in the crate, she stood up and stiffened herself into a block of concrete thinking I wouldn’t be able to get her in. Then when I got her in she cried and cried and I swore I would never put her in a crate again. I adopted her, failing as foster mom, and she lived another nine years and never went into a crate. She was a princess and princesses do not sleep in crates. I named her Princess.

GOP governor cuts health care budget to prevent Planned Parenthood funding

By Justin Wise – 07/06/18 05:06 PM EDT

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) is eliminating part of the state’s health care budget to make sure no funding goes to abortion providers.

The State reported on Friday that McMaster vetoed nearly $16 million in health care services — a move that came with the goal of defunding abortion clinics such as Planned Parenthood.

“Taxpayer dollars must not directly or indirectly subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood,” McMaster told The State. “There are a variety of agencies, clinics and medical entities in South Carolina that receive taxpayer funding [that] offer important women’s health and family-planning services without performing abortions.”

I’m glad to hear that Sonoco fired Adam’s racist ass. All of these incidents are disturbing but this guy really got under my skin, probably because he had his little boy with him. He was teaching the kid how to be a racist asshole and I’d lay odds the kid will learn.

People are going to have to demand that fines be imposed on those calling in false alarms.

Adam the Racist Asshole had no right to be policing the community pool or demanding to see anyone’s ID. If Adam is unable to live in a community where he does not wish to share the amenities with people he doesn’t like because of their race, then perhaps it is time for him to move.

I am so disgusted by this creep. Another thing, he did this to a woman because he would not have dared do it to a man.

      • Liza says:

I read more about this. Adam is actually some kind of “pool chairman” at this HOA.

The black woman and her child were the only black people at the pool. Residents are issued a swipe card to open the gate. So Adam singles out this woman and asked for her address. She gave him her address but he wanted to see her ID to prove the address because he didn’t believe her. And since she wouldn’t show her ID, as he had no right to ask for it and he was clearly engaged in racial profiling, he called the cops.

Also, Adam has apparently lawyered up according to a Newsweek article.

I know that these brats just echo what they’ve been taught by their elders and they don’t actually know what they’re talking about. But this is where racism, prejudice, and bigotry start and it’s difficult to reverse especially when there is no will to do so.

    • Liza says:

Not a bad idea for Ms. Sinema to go to northern AZ where she is not well known. She currently represents a district in Republican dominated Maricopa County which is good because that is where Democrats usually lose. She’ll have no trouble winning Pima County where Tucson is located.

I believe the Democrats stand a very good chance in this election.

Too many Americans still don’t see black history as their own
    By Margaret Jordan
    June 30, 2017

Margaret Jordan is a member of the Montpelier Foundation Board of Directors.

When I return to Washington, the city where I was born and raised, I see places others do not. At 21st and K streets NW, I see the cheerful home of my great-grandmother, where a World Bank building now sits. On the rapidly gentrifying corridor near First and Bates streets NW, I see the proud brownstone that belonged to one of our city’s first African American kindergarten teachers, my great-aunt. And on 18th and L streets NW, where others see bargains at the Nordstrom Rack, I see the buildings my great-great-great-grandfather Paul Jennings owned when he became a free man after serving as President James Madison’s personal slave.

Trump can’t make America white again

He is waging a war on nonwhite Hispanic immigrants.

    SNIP
Trump uses words such as “invading” and “infest” and “breeding” to describe Central American migrants who arrive at the border lawfully seeking asylum. I’ll believe this is neutral immigration policy when Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents begin hunting down and locking up Norwegians who have overstayed their visas.

Said Norwegians, if anyone bothered to look for them, might well be taking jobs away from American workers or taking advantage of social-welfare programs or boosting crime rates. There is no evidence that asylumseekers are doing any of these things.

Trump’s policies flow from a worldview that he has never tried to hide. To describe Trump and aides such as Attorney General Jeff Sessions and senior policy adviser Stephen Miller as “anti-immigration” tells only part of the story. They adopt the stance of racial and cultural warriors, “defending” the United States against brown-skinned, Spanish-speaking hordes “invading” from the south.
