This is why Bernie never makes much noise about Putin or Russia, and making noise is his only political skill. Trump, Sanders, Stein, were all assisted by Putin. In 2016, there was only one candidate for president who scared the hell out of Putin: Hillary Clinton. https://t.co/QqbxWI6kF1

Adding to this as I process it…

Mueller’s evidence in a criminal trial includes communications between Tad Devine, Paul Manafort and a Russian connected to Putin up through JUNE OF 2014.

In NOVEMBER OF 2014, Devine joined Bernie’s campaign.https://t.co/x4DZn7hnfk

    ……………………………………………………

The Russian Devine was communicating with is Konstantin Kilimnik.

Kilimnik is already under indictment by Mueller.

Bernie’s Chief Strategist was in touch with Manafort’s shady Putin-connected pal right before joining Bernie’s campaign… Uh-oh.https://t.co/vqq2720SZv

    Of course he always knew

    ……………………….

We’ve had forty-four occupants of the Oval Office. Some have been iconic. Some have plunged us into misery. But what none of them were were traitors. The Constitution foresaw such an eventuality, and a remedy to deal with a compromised president. But that system is not functional at the present moment. Trump’s party goes to amazing lengths to protect him, putting their own interests over the very existence of our democracy. One has to assume that democracy is just a fig leaf for them for the grabbing of power. It’s safe to say that if a Democratic president had even a fraction of the scandals in which Trump is mired, a Democratic Congress would have already impeached him or her. We currently have only one party which values American ideals, and it’s not the party in power.

This was never funny. But now it’s spun out of control. This week has laid bare all of the GOP’s treason and skullduggery. The Constitution has a remedy for this as well. It’s the franchise. Exercising the sacred duty of voting is the solution to this impasse. Cleansing Congress of the GOP, returning a Democratic majority in both houses, and expediting real oversight of the occupied executive branch is how we get out of this mess without resorting to harsher measures. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be easy. But it’s the only way forward.

In court today, federal prosecutors submitted a document suggesting Maria Butina was funded by an oligarch close to Putin. So her operation might go all the way to the top of the Kremlin. Big deal.

For months, Republicans offered Trump an escape hatch: Just admit Russian interference happened, and we won’t ask too many questions.

But the news that Trump was briefed on Putin’s involvement 18 months ago renders that position unsustainable.

One of the biggest mistakes some right-wingers make is believing that all liberals/progressives/Democrats are unarmed and will not use those weapons if they start some mess. One of my brothers has an “arsenal” in his home, including an AK-47, and has always voted for Democrats. I don’t have as many guns as he does, but I have enough and enough ammo to go with them to hold these b*st*rds at bay for quite a while. It was only after Obama was elected, and some of these fools seemed to have lost their frigging minds, that I purchased weapons and ammo. Another reason is because I live alone.

Erickson’s got longstanding connections to Russian government officials and oligarchs/organized crime leaders (Torshin is one of the top leaders of the Russian mob). He’s also heavily connected on the GOP/movement conservative/christian conservative side. Including both the NRA and The Family/The Fellowship/C Street folks who run the national prayer breakfast, which is how Butina was able to get deep access to that stuff. He was a senior advisor to Romney’s campaign in 2012. He was a College Republican treasurer when he was in college. He’s involved with Marsha Blackburn’s campaign to replace Bob Corker in the Senate. He’s a major bridging node between the Russians and these groups, movements, and campaigns in the US. And he’s in a lot of trouble.
