I was in fourth grade when I first went to school with anyone not Black.
I was in seventh grade when I first met someone from an immigrant family.
I was in eighth grade when I first met someone who survived the Holocaust. It was at my friend’s bat-mitzvah. You’re 13 and you think you know everything,but meeting someone with a number tatoo on their arm humbles you real quick.

A friend from high school was in town last week, and wanted to have lunch. I think a lot about her and families like hers as I’ve watched the horrendous immigration policies from this Administration unfold.
She came to America with her little sister and their parents after the fall of Saigon. They arrived in this country with literally the clothes on their backs. They came to America, had 4 more children, and all 6 are productive citizens, contributing to this country.

They are everything that this Administration despises: refugees of color without any resources, and didn’t know a word of English when they came. I can’t imagine what they’d be treated like today with this Administration. Neither can she.

There are those of us who told folks, way back when, that this Administration’s Immigration Policies are nothing but a MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN campaign.

We told you that they were coming for all immigrants, and we were poo-pooed.

Now the Trump administration wants to limit citizenship for legal immigrants
The most significant change to legal immigration in decades could affect millions of would-be citizens, say lawyers and advocates.

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is expected to issue a proposal in coming weeks that would make it harder for legal immigrants to become citizens or get green cards if they have ever used a range of popular public welfare programs, including Obamacare, four sources with knowledge of the plan told NBC News.

The move, which would not need congressional approval, is part of White House senior adviser Stephen Miller’s plan to limit the number of migrants who obtain legal status in the U.S. each year.

Details of the rulemaking proposal are still being finalized, but based on a recent draft seen last week and described to NBC News, immigrants living legally in the U.S. who have ever used or whose household members have ever used Obamacare, children’s health insurance, food stamps and other benefits could be hindered from obtaining legal status in the U.S.

Immigration lawyers and advocates and public health researchers say it would be the biggest change to the legal immigration system in decades and estimate that more than 20 million immigrants could be affected. They say it would fall particularly hard on immigrants working jobs that don’t pay enough to support their families.

Many are like Louis Charles, a Haitian green-card holder seeking citizenship who, despite working up to 80 hours a week as a nursing assistant, has had to use public programs to support his disabled adult daughter.

Miller, along with several of his former congressional colleagues who now hold prominent positions in the Trump administration, have long sought to decrease the number of immigrants who obtain legal status in the U.S. each year. And even before the rule is in place, the administration has made it more difficult for immigrants to gain green cards and for green-card holders to gain citizenship.

Data from the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 indicates that the administration is on track for a decline in immigrants granted green cards by 20 percent. Data for the first two quarters of fiscal year 2018 for immigrants obtaining naturalized citizenship shows little change compared to the same period of 2016. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says they expect naturalization numbers to rise in the latter half of the year based on previous trends.

Four immigration lawyers practicing in Massachusetts, Virginia, Tennessee and California told NBC News they have noticed a spike in the number of their clients being rejected when seeking green cards and naturalized citizenship.

Charles is unaware of Miller’s new plan to limit citizenship for immigrants who have used public assistance. But it is likely to affect him because he has used public assistance to help care for his daughter, so she could end up further hurting his chances for citizenship.

Obamacare is NOT a public assistance program. It is the law of the land.
And, I want to make this clear. Citizenship can be denied, NOT ONLY if YOU, the applicant, have used public services….BUT, IF ANYONE IN THE FAMILY HAS.

WHAT THE EVERLOVING PHUCK IS THAT?

His daughter is a UNITED STATES CITIZEN. She is severely disabled, and those services he uses for her, which she is entitled to. And, because his DAUGHTER IS USING SERVICES THAT SHE’S ENTITLED TO….They could use that to DENY this man citizenship?

DA PHUQ?

New citizens can see the hatred coming the GOP a mile away, which is why they overwhelmingly register as Democrats. So, of course, stop them from becoming citizens, and keep America White.

These racist evil demons.

      Interesting.

      Ann Kirkpatrick, the DCCC handpicked candidate running for the Democratic nomination for the House seat in AZ CD2 claims that she changed her mind about gun control when her good friend Gabrielle Giffords was shot. Kirkpatrick used to brag about her “A” rating from the NRA and her support for the second amendment.

      Everyone who got shot before January, 2011 doesn’t matter, apparently.

        A few weeks ago my little cousin had a show lamb and a bobcat got in and killed the lamb while in the kennel. So sad.

        That would have broken my heart. The bobcats out here eat the rabbits in the open desert spaces. We have 5′ block wall fences but a bobcat can walk on top of those like they’re runways. Even baby bobcats can do that. So far I haven’t had one in the yard.

        They’re just fences made from cinder blocks and the standard height around here is 5 feet. I think that’s because it provides privacy and keeps most of the animals out.
