Thursday Open Thread | Dolt45 Revokes Security Clearance for former CIA Chief John Brennan

You know, there are so many reasons to be angry about this.
But, let’s cut to the heart of the matter, shall we?

THE UNMITIGATED GALL…

THE GALL….

Of this Asset of Vladimir Putin, who has stocked this White House with dozens of people that couldn’t get a Security Clearance.

The GALL…

Of the man who gave up sensitive information of one of our closest allies, in the Oval Office to the Russians….

The GALL…

Of the man who routinely goes around using UNSECURE TELEPHONES WHILE DOING THE BUSINESS OF THE UNITED STATES…

Yeah…THAT MAN…

Had the nerve to revoke the Security Clearance of a man who has served this country under several Presidents..
The man who was there when we got Osama Bin Laden…

Had his Security Clearance revoked by Putin’s Puppet.

Who is John Brennan?

John Owen Brennan (born September 22, 1955)[1][2] was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from March 2013 to January 2017. He served as chief counterterrorism advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama; with the title Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and Assistant to the President.[1][3][4] His responsibilities included overseeing plans to protect the country from terrorism and respond to natural disasters, and he met with the President daily.[5][6] Previously, he advised President Obama on foreign policy and intelligence issues during the 2008 presidential campaign and transition.[7] Brennan withdrew his name from consideration for Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the first Obama administration over concerns about his support, while serving under President George W. Bush, for transferring terror suspects to countries where they might be tortured.[3][5] Instead, Brennan was appointed Deputy National Security Advisor, a position which did not require Senate confirmation.[3][5][8]

Brennan’s 25 years with the CIA included work as a Near East and South Asia analyst, as station chief in Saudi Arabia, and as director of the National Counterterrorism Center.[3][5][9] After leaving government service in 2005, Brennan became CEO of The Analysis Corporation, a security consulting business, and served as chairman of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, an association of intelligence professionals.[10]

Brennan served in the White House as Assistant to the President for Homeland Security between 2009 and 2013. President Obama nominated Brennan as his next director of the CIA on January 7, 2013.[11][12] The ACLU called for the Senate not to proceed with the appointment until it confirms that “all of his conduct was within the law” at the CIA and White House.[13] John Brennan was approved by the Senate Intelligence Committee on March 5, 2013, to succeed David Petraeus as the Director of the CIA by a vote of 12 to 3.[14]

THIS is the man whose Security Clearance was revoked, while Jared and Ivanka are still in the White House?

This isn’t about National Security.

This is about the 1st Amendment.

Silverman at BJsaid it so well:

The real issue here is not the breach of protocols, processes, and procedures dealing with clearances, as egregious as that breach is. Rather, the real issue here is the 1st Amendment one. This is the President of the United States directing the power of the state to punish a critic – DCI (ret) Brennan – for engaging in political speech, which is protected from governmental retaliation under the 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights. This is as clear a violation of the oath of office as one could ask for.

They are so ridiculous.

Adam Schiff@RepAdamSchiff

Adam Schiff Retweeted The Associated Press

In adding John Brennan to his enemies list, Trump demonstrates again how deeply insecure and vindictive he is — two character flaws dangerous in any President.

An enemies list is ugly, undemocratic and un-American. I also believe this action to silence a critic is unlawful.

America has no royalty. But we do have a chance to earn something more enduring. Born in Memphis and raised in Detroit, Aretha Franklin grew up performing gospel songs in her father’s congregation. For more than six decades since, every time she sang, we were all graced with a glimpse of the divine. Through her compositions and unmatched musicianship, Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade—our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. She helped us feel more connected to each other, more hopeful, more human. And sometimes she helped us just forget about everything else and dance.

Aretha may have passed on to a better place, but the gift of her music remains to inspire us all. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace. Michelle and I send our prayers and warmest sympathies to her family and all those moved by her song.

The Queen has gone home. I hope Omarosa takes the day off. I’ve been at my desk listening, bawlin, remembering.

    Have a good day all.
