The GOP knows that it can’t win WITHOUT CHEATING.
WITHOUT VOTER SUPPRESSION.
We had gotten this news from Georgia.

Yes, because of pushback and publicity, the attempt to close SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT OF THE POLLING PLACES IN A MAJORITY BLACK COUNTY was defeated.
But, you know these demons never sleep.
So, then, Texas, which is getting scare shytless of Beto’s campaign to take out Rafael Cruz, is proposing this:
Texas requires photo ID to vote. Now they're proposing closing 87 DMV offices where you get ID. 78 counties will have no DMV office. This is same state where you can vote with gun permit but not student ID https://t.co/K4SW5j9JXb

Does this sound familiar?
Because, the same thing was proposed in Alabama- another state with Voter ID laws…

And, then, we got this national news last week.
White House blocks bill that would protect elections
Alexander Nazaryan-National Correspondent
Yahoo News•August 23, 2018
WASHINGTON — A bill that would have significantly bolstered the nation’s defenses against electoral interference has been held up in the Senate at the behest of the White House, which opposed the proposed legislation, according to congressional sources.
The Secure Elections Act, introduced by Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., in December 2017, had co-sponsorship from two of the Senate’s most prominent liberals, Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., as well as from conservative stalwart Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and consummate centrist Susan Collins, R-Me.
Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., was set to conduct a markup of the bill on Wednesday morning in the Senate Rules Committee, which he chairs. The bill had widespread support, including from some of the committee’s Republican members, and was expected to come to a full Senate vote in October. But then the chairman’s mark, as the critical step is known, was canceled, and no explanation was given.
As it currently stands, the legislation would grant every state’s top election official security clearance to receive threat information. It would also formalize the practice of information-sharing between the federal government—in particular, the Department of Homeland Security—and states regarding threats to electoral infrastructure. A technical advisory board would establish best practices related to election cybersecurity. Perhaps most significantly, the law would mandate that every state conduct a statistically significant audit following a federal election. It would also incentivize the purchase of voting machines that leave a paper record of votes cast, as opposed to some all-electronic models that do not. This would signify a marked shift away from all-electronic voting, which was encouraged with the passage of the Help Americans Vote Act in 2002.
“Paper is not antiquated,” Lankford says. “It’s reliable.”
They have no problems with Russian interference in our elections – BECAUSE IT HELPS THEM.
Please get that through your head.
A political party would welcome the subversion of our democracy by a HOSTILE FOREIGN POWER because they believe it HELPS THEM.
They are TRAITORS, ALL.
DEMOCRACY ITSELF IS ON THE BALLOT IN NOVEMBER 2018.

Dear Everybody Involved With Creating Last Night’s Episode of Power, THANK YOU! Here’s My Night in GIFs
Panama Jackson
Monday 2:30pm
I was going to write a whole-ass, spoiler-free post to share my glee at last night’s episode of Power. If you’ll remember, way back yonder, I wrote an article explaining why I was watching the show this season: Basically, I’m just waiting for everybody to die.
I won’t say that anybody died last night. But I won’t say that anybody didn’t die last night, either. Grammatically speaking, I’m not sure if that last sentence is sound, however, I like it. I’m running with it. So instead of writing some long ass thing where I share my glee …
John McCain Was a White American Hero
Damon Young
Yesterday 12:56pm
John McCain was a white American man, whose whiteness and Americanness and maleness were his most prominent and predictable characteristics. He was also considered to be a hero. Barack Obama spoke on McCain’s “courage to put the greater good above our own.” Joe Biden remarked that McCain’s life was “proof that some truths are timeless.” There are many other tributes like this from many other prominent American and international figures, each extolment more gracious and fawning than the last, fitting for a man who put his life on the line for his country as a young man and then, for his remaining years on Earth, continued to serve it.
This sort of veneration will likely be the legacy that prevails when he’s regarded by history. I do not disagree with it. He was, in the context of whiteness, in the context of Americaness, in the context of maleness, and in the context of what those things fused together are intended to mean, a hero.
Donald Trump Does Not Want That Smoke From Andrew Gillum
By Damon Young
Admittedly, I do not know much about Andrew Gillum. I know he won the Democratic nomination in Florida’s primary race for governor, beating heavy favorite Gwen Graham. I know he’s the mayor of Tallahassee. I know he graduated from Florida A&M—which is why every FAMU grad I’m Facebook friends with had 22,000 word-long status messages this morning about Rattlers. I know he met his wife there. I know, without knowing him, that he frequents a black barbershop. (Which is very important.)
I also learned, earlier today, that he possesses that smoke. Perhaps he doesn’t possess much of it.
………………………………………….
I do know, however, that he has some smoke for the president. And Donald Trump, the simp-ass, mark-ass, trick-ass coward that he is, wants none of it. If Donald Trump went to a restaurant, and Smoke From Andrew Gillum was featured on its menu—perhaps accompanied with chorizo Benedict—he’d leave and go to Steak n’ Shake.
is this true?
has this been verified?
Per rawstory; Sarah Palin not invited to McCain funeral.

McCullogh is pissed and will probably remain that way for the rest of his life. How dare a black male challenge and defeat me? Well, McCullogh, honey, the answer is easy. When you did everything within your power to ensure that Darren Wilson escaped all consequences for gunning an unarmed child down in the streets of your city, WTF did you expect to happen when the next election cycle rolled around? Citizens got angry, began to organize and register new voters, got them to the polls, and now you find yourself OUT, which is exactly where you belong. Black Americans are more than sick and tired of some White Americans, especially those in the justice system, pretend that our tax monies don’t help pay for your salaries, other benefits, and healthcare. Do you now realize what caused your @ss to be booted to the curb? Well, it doesn’t matter whether you understand or not because the most important thing is that no citizen in Ferguson will ever have to worry about you ignoring the law to benefit yourself and others like you again.

Sources: Second Trump Org employee discussed immunity deal
By Erica Orden and Evan Perez, CNN

(CNN)A second Trump Organization employee discussed a potential immunity deal with the federal prosecutors who charged Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, according to people familiar with the matter.
That employee ultimately did not receive immunity after prosecutors in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York decided against granting such protection. The person was not called to testify before the grand jury, the people familiar with the matter said.

Ageism is the dumbest form of bigotry, because if you are lucky you will age. Only unlucky people don’t age.
And it happens fast.

One thing people don’t tell you about ageism, is how entangled it is in sexism.
women are considered past their prime decades before men are (notice who wants pelosi out, but wants bernie to run in 2020).
For young women to participate in being ageist, is self sabotage.

One thing I would love young women to know, is that forty comes at you fast. One day you are 25, next day you are forty.
And when you get there, people will want to replace you too.
Stand by older female politicians who share your values and know their history and struggle.

Trump tells Christian leaders he changed key tax law (but he didn’t)
08/29/18 08:00 AM
By Steve Benen
One of Donald Trump’s more unnerving habits is bragging about accomplishments that don’t exist in reality. To hear the president tell it, for example, he’s already solved the North Korea nuclear crisis, begun construction on a border wall, extracted major concessions from our NATO allies, and struck history’s largest trade deal with Mexico.
None of those things have actually happened, but Trump doesn’t appear to care. The Republican routinely brags about imagined triumphs, insisting that his made-up accomplishments are real.
He did it again this week during striking remarks to a group of evangelical Christians at the White House. NBC News reported:
Primary voters set the stage for some historic 2018 contests
08/29/18 08:40 AM—UPDATED 08/29/18 08:43 AM
By Steve Benen
For partisan officials in Florida, many of whom focused on “electability,” there were two obvious choices in the state’s gubernatorial primaries. Among Republicans, state Agriculture Secretary Adam Putnam was seen as the safe, responsible choice, who picked endorsements from many Florida officeholders. Among Democrats, the parallel was former Rep. Gwen Graham, who was in the same boat.
Primary voters, however, had different ideas.
