Tuesday Open Thread | The Demons Come After LEGAL Immigrants

This isn’t surprising. We have been warning you about this Administration and Immigration. We told you that their telling you that they were only going after CRIMINALS was utter bullshyt. We told you that they were after immigrants, period. After Non-White people, PERIOD.

Here is the latest:

Trump Administration Aims to Sharply Restrict New Green Cards for Those on Public Aid
By Michael D. Shear and Emily Baumgaertner
Sept. 22, 2018

WASHINGTON — Trump administration officials announced Saturday that immigrants who legally use public benefits like food assistance and Section 8 housing vouchers could be denied green cards under new rules aimed at keeping out people the administration deems a drain on the country.

The move could force millions of poor immigrants who rely on public assistance for food and shelter to make a difficult choice between accepting financial help and seeking a green card to live and work legally in the United States.

Older immigrants, many of whom get low-cost prescription drugs through the Medicare Part D program, could also be forced to stop participating in the popular benefits program or risk being deemed a “public charge” who is ineligible for legal resident status.

The move is not intended to affect most immigrants who have already been granted green cards, but advocates have said they fear that those with legal resident status will stop using public benefits to protect their status. The regulation, which the administration said would affect about 382,000 people a year, is the latest in a series of aggressive crackdowns by President Trump and his hard-line aides on legal and illegal immigration.

These are LEGAL immigrants.
I said LEGAL immigrants.
Meaning, they did it the so-called ‘ right way’.
AND, THEY ARE STILL TARGETING THEM.

Older Immigrants – WHO NEED MEDICARE PART D FOR MEDICATIONS TO HELP KEEP THEM ALIVE – could be targeted?

This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

The racism of this Administration in terms of Immigration policy is absolutely out of control. They want to MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN, and will use whatever means possible to halt the immigration of those who are not-WHITE.

We told you this.
When they started with the undocumented who hadn’t done anything criminal..we told you that it would not stop.
And, it hasn’t.

    Escaping from reality here…

Last night I watched The Last Waltz (1978) on TCM, hadn’t seen it in a long time. The Weight may be The Band’s best known recording, and has been used in many films and TV shows.

This performance with the Staple Singers is beautiful. Martin Scorcese said that is had to be re-recorded after the The Last Waltz concert because his film ran out during the concert performance.

Here’s another good clip. Eric Clapton performs Further on up the Road with The Band. Damn, they were all so good.

Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), who is challenging Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, went on the local television station KX4 on Monday to clarify his statement from the weekend that “nothing evidently happened” between Ford and Kavanaugh. “My point was that there was no type of intercourse or anything like that,” Cramer said. “That was my point. That nothing happened in terms of a sexual, um, event, beyond, obviously, the attack.”

The congressman continued, “Even if it’s all true, does it disqualify him? It certainly means that he did something really bad 36 years ago, but does it disqualify him from the Supreme Court?”

Sure, he might of tried to rape, her,but that shouldn’t hurt a good White man….am I right?

If the Founders traveled forward in time and discovered we were arguing about the virginity of a Supreme Court nominee, I suspect they would beat us all.

GOP acts as if it’s completely forgotten Merrick Garland’s nomination

Some rhetorical hyperbole is inevitable in politics, especially during an election season, especially in the midst of a fight over a controversial Supreme Court nominee. But this is awfully difficult to take seriously.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says the furor surrounding sexual harassment claims against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is a “total collapse of the traditional confirmation process.” […]

Graham, who is a member of the Judiciary committee, tweeted Monday that there are “no boundaries” when it comes to stopping President Donald Trump.

    ……………………….

Hatch, Graham, McConnel, and their Republican brethren refused to give the compromise nominee so much as a hearing. GOP senators not only held open the Supreme Court vacancy for a year, several Republicans said that if voters elected another Democratic president, they were prepared to leave that vacancy open until 2021, at the earliest.

Why Brett Kavanaugh’s Fox News interview mattered
    09/25/18 08:00 AM—UPDATED 09/25/18 08:14 AM
    By Steve Benen

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his wife sat down for an interview with Fox News yesterday, and the conservative jurist said largely what everyone expected him to say. By my count, Kavanaugh used the phrase “never sexually assaulted anyone” seven times in the fairly brief discussion, pushing back against recent allegations of misconduct from years past. (He used the “fair process,” meanwhile, 17 times.)
But while viewers probably didn’t learn much from the interview, the fact that the on-air Q&A happened at all told us a great deal. This New York Times report captured the significance of the media appearance nicely:

Even the toughest Supreme Court confirmation battles never quite came to this: a grim-faced nominee, stoic wife at his side, going on national television and describing when, approximately, he lost his virginity.

Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s appearance on Fox News on Monday night, submitting to a tough round of questions from the anchor Martha MacCallum about allegations of sexual misconduct, was the first time in memory that a Supreme Court nominee submitted to a televised interview before the confirmation vote.

Since the Eisenhower era, 35 people have been nominated to the Supreme Court – and 34 of them went out of their way not to speak to the press during their confirmation processes.

    • Ametia says:

Not to mention his wifey sitting there, thin, tight-lipped, boiling inside with humiliation.

What a shit storm of a mess, going on TVA talking about your NON-EXISTENT virginity, TOTALLY DENYING sexual antics & crimes from high school, as a nominee of the SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
