“The First Noel” (also written “The First Noël” and “The First Nowell”) is a traditional classical English Christmas carol, most likely from the early modern period, although possibly earlier.[2][3] Noel is an Early Modern English synonym of “Christmas”.[4]
The First Noel is of Cornish origin. Its current form was first published in Carols Ancient and Modern (1823) and Gilbert and Sandys Carols (1833), both of which were edited by William Sandys and arranged, edited and with extra lyrics written by Davies Gilbert for Hymns and Carols of God. Today, it is usually performed in a four-part hymn arrangement by the English composer John Stainer, first published in his Carols, New and Old in 1871.[2] Variations of its theme are included in Victor Hely-Hutchinson’s Carol Symphony.
The melody is unusual among English folk melodies in that it consists of one musical phrase repeated twice, followed by a refrain which is a variation on that phrase. All three phrases end on the third of the scale. It is thought to be a version of an earlier melody sung in a church gallery setting; a conjectural reconstruction of this earlier version can be found in the New Oxford Book of Carols.[5]
The Annunciation to the shepherds and the Adoration of the shepherds are episodes in the Nativity of Jesus described in the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke (Luke 2). The Star of Bethlehem appears in the story of the Magi (the Wise Men) in the Gospel of Matthew; it does not appear in the story of the shepherds.

Why isn’t Trump’s wall covered like what it is: A political stunt, just like sending real troops to the border to stop an imagined invasion. Costly, wasteful, & useless. A fraud.
The shutdown is a stunt. What it’s FOR is a stunt. But consequences are real & too many play along.

In Jamestown, a new exhibition pays homage to the women history overlooked
Telling the stories of the English, Native American and African women who played key parts in Virginia’s founding.
By James F. Lee ·–December 18
Anne Burras was only 14 when she arrived in Jamestown, Va., in 1608. She was maidservant to another woman who died shortly after their arrival. For a time, Anne was the only English woman in a colony of about 200 men. She married two months later, faced near starvation, miscarried after receiving a severe whipping for violating martial law, survived a deadly attack by Native Americans and eventually bore four daughters.

Too sweet!
Love at first sight.
I adopted my baby from the local shelter last year. She’s a lab mix and was nine months old at the time. As my daughter and I were roaming the aisles, looking at a pet to adopt, Penny caught my eye. While the other doggies were yapping, she was just sitting there in all of her loveliness, looking for her new mama. She found her. I knew she’d be my baby the first time I laid eyes on her. She’s been with me a little more than a year now, she thinks she is the boss and acts like it!
Good Morning, Everyone 😀😀😀
