Merry Christmas Eve, everyone.

If you’re traveling to be with family and friends, please be safe.

Silent Night” (German: “Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht”) is a popular Christmas carol. The original lyrics of the song “Stille Nacht” were written in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria, by the priest Father Joseph Mohr and the melody was composed by the Austrian headmaster Franz Xaver Gruber. In 1859, John Freeman Young (second Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Florida) published the English translation that is most frequently sung today.[1] The version of the melody that is generally sung today differs slightly (particularly in the final strain) from Gruber’s original, which was a sprightly, dance-like tune in 6/8 time, as opposed to the slow, meditative lullaby version generally sung today. Today, the lyrics and melody are in the public domain.

    Anyone remember this 1985 Bob Geldof (Band Aid) version of We are the world …little retro Christmas do-good song … it was redone in 2014 with younger music acts and a much older Bono..

Banana pudding still need to be made. Daughter is making green beans when she gets here. Sis in law will make mac and cheese and candied yams.

    Brother has ribs and brisket on the pit. I think ribs are about ready to come off the pit. I bought Pecan pie and Red Velvet cake.

    I forgot, coolers are iced down with drinks.

    Merry Christmas Eve, y’all. I hope everyone is enjoying tonight, I’ve always liked Christmas Eve better than Christmas day.

      Same to you, Liza! Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are big in my family… We’ve kept the same family traditions for the two, all my life.. And even with the ominous clouds and the misery cast over this country and the world by a certain traitorous Individual 1, his owners, puppeteers and enablers, we intend to shut them all out for the next week, and celebrate life as it ought to be.. care-free and wonderful ..

      Here’s hoping everyone has a safe and peaceful time this holy season..

    • Merry Christmas eve, Liza! We opened our stockings and gifts this morning. Had so fun. I’m still cooking and will be into late tonight. I hope you’re having a blast. I love you to pieces. 😘😘😘

      • Liza says:

        Merry Christmas Eve to you, SG2. Sounds like y’all are having a great time.

        Did Carson like his gifts?

        I don’t know how you manage to get everything done. It would take me a month to do what you do in a day.

        I love you back.

      The truth is that they’re all doing it, actually.. Not just the Bernie bros.. but all the potential 2020 candidates ..

      Their hired hands (veterans and newbies alike) who hope to get choice gigs if their preferred candidate manages to pull it off, and their supporters too.. They’re all playing their various versions of influencer/take-down the other guy shenanigans on and off social media … And any and everyone who isn’t their preferred candidate is to be taken down… including those like my Historic FLOTUS who is not running but is very popular …they’re all taking their knives to her.. (incredibly shortsighted because they will all in the end, absolutely need her …not just to endorse their person, but ultimately because she’s one of the most compelling surrogates the Dems have.. She goes silent on your a*se, or does a lukewarm acknowledgment, you’re toast..)

      The Bernie folks are the worst (I’ve had to tell some of them that their horrid tactics has and will lose Bernie not just support, but goodwill and respect – as it’s already lost him mine, sadly) .. They’ve managed to reel in a few black folks who co-sign their bullshit.. And they assume that fake-touting Nina Turner as their ‘girl’ (Cynthia McKinney too) somehow provides cover for their entitled and abrasive white supremacy ..and completely absolves them of their racist hijinks… they think name-dropping Nina Turner is somehow evidence that they aren’t in fact no better than the Alt-Right.. And the truth is that in reality, none of them will ever vote for Nina Turner.. she’s just their useful idiot now, sadly.. in much the same way Omarosa was to the treasonous buffoon..

      I’m no fan of Kirsten Gilibrand, but this was a hit piece and warning shot from that awful pal of Hillary’s in San Francisco – Susie Tompkins Buell who’s now trying to clear the field for Kamala Harris.. Susie and co. are trying to exploit the displeasure of so many Dems re: the ousting of Al Franken …forgetting that their preferred candidate was also part of the choir that forced Al Franken out.. but notice how Susie is trying to conveniently absolve her preferred candidate …Susie doesn’t in fact give a rats patootie about Al Franken..

      I’ve shared about Susie here a few times… She fancies herself a Dem king maker because of her wealth (she co-founded Esprit clothing and North Face) … hated the Obamas, and like Lynn Forester de Rothschild, was vicious to them and did almost as much to undermine them …She’s also the one who co-hosted that San Francisco book dinner party and funded some of David Brock’s work on behalf of Hillary (2016)..

      “..A top Democratic fundraiser is slamming Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) for her role in Al Franken’s (D-Minn.) resignation from the Senate over sexual harassment allegations.

      The donor, Susie Tompkins Buell, told Politico that Gillibrand’s push for Franken to leave after allegations emerged of his sexual misconduct, including a photo of him pretending to grope a sleeping woman, “stained [Gillibrand’s] reputation as a fair player.”

      “I do hear people refer to Kirsten Gillibrand as ‘opportunistic’ and shrewd at the expense of others to advance herself and it seems to have been demonstrated in her rapid treatment of her colleague Al Franken,” she said.

      “I heard her referred to as ‘she would eat her own’ and she seems to have demonstrated that. I know [Gillibrand] thought she was doing the right thing but I think she will be remembered by this rush to judgment,” Buell said. “I have heard some of her women colleagues regret joining her…”

    Hey fam, compliments of the season … we’ve all been so caught up in and distracted by the shocking mayhem of unaddressed treason .. and all of Individual 1’s shenanigans …(Except for our always on it energizer bunny, multi-tasker extraordinaire Mama-Glamma S.G who absolutely refuses to be distracted)..

    And before Christmas is over, please enjoy a few versions of one of my favorite carols..

    Mueller Is Telling Us: He’s Got Trump on Collusion
    The special counsel is connecting the dots and it doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the president.

    Max Bergmann,
    Sam Berger

    For nearly two years, since the U.S. intelligence community released its report on the Russian campaign to assist Donald Trump in the 2016 election, the American people have been seeking an answer as to whether the Trump campaign colluded with its Russian counterpart. In the endless speculation about the direction of the investigation, a common view was that maybe the investigation would never implicate President Trump or find any collusion.

    But a flurry of recent activity this past week all points in the same direction: Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will likely implicate the president, his campaign, and his close associates in aiding and abetting a Russian conspiracy against the United States to undermine the 2016 election.

    First, Mueller has clearly identified collusion in the efforts of Trump aides and associates to contact WikiLeaks. In a draft plea agreement provided to conservative operative Jerome Corsi, Mueller details how Roger Stone, who the special counsel notes was in frequent contact with Donald Trump and senior campaign officials, directed Corsi to connect with WikiLeaks about the trove of stolen materials it received from Russia. Corsi subsequently communicated WikiLeaks’ release plan back to Stone, and the Trump campaign built its final message around the email release. That is collusion.

    Sydney Opal Tower: Thousands evacuated after ‘crack’

    As many as 3,000 people have been evacuated after residents of a newly completed tower block in Australia reported hearing “cracking noises”.

    Police confirmed they had found a crack in the 33-storey Opal Tower, in Sydney Olympic Park, following reports of the noise on the 10th floor.

    Engineers said the high-rise tower has moved up to 2mm, local media reported.

    A 1km (0.6 mile) evacuation zone, which also affected other buildings, was put in place amid safety fears.

    An email to residents of a nearby apartment block said the evacuation had been ordered because “there is a potential for the tower to collapse”, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

    A Top Aide’s Exit Plan Raises Eyebrows in the White House
    By Maggie Haberman and Nicholas Fandos
    Dec. 20, 2018

    WASHINGTON — After weeks of discussions about his future, Zachary D. Fuentes, the 36-year-old deputy White House chief of staff, had a plan.

    Mr. Fuentes told colleagues that after his mentor, John F. Kelly, left his job as chief of staff at the end of the year, he would “hide out” at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House, for six months, remaining on the payroll in a nebulous role. Then, in July, when he had completed 15 years of service in the Coast Guard, Mr. Fuentes — an active-duty officer — would take advantage of an early retirement program.

    The program, referred to as temporary early retirement authority, had lapsed for Coast Guard officials at the end of the 2018 fiscal year, and, according to people briefed on the discussions, Department of Homeland Security officials began pressing Congress in November to reinstate it. Administration officials said they had been told that Mr. Fuentes discussed the program with officials at the Department of Homeland Security, and after reporters raised questions with lawmakers of both parties, a provision to reinstate it was abruptly pulled from a House bill on Wednesday.

    The White House declined to answer questions about whether Mr. Fuentes had pressed to have the program restarted, saying only that he planned to remain on for a time as a senior adviser to aid in the transition to a new chief of staff. But in interviews, nearly a dozen White House and administration aides, none of whom would speak on the record, raised concerns about how they believed Mr. Fuentes planned to use government resources in the coming months.

    BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA H HA HA HA HA

    ‘Twas The Night Before Mueller

    ‘Twas the night before Christmas
    when thro’ the White House,
    Not an immigrant was stirring, not even his spouse;
    The McDonald’s was wrapped up by the pillow with care,
    Just in case POTUS got hungry while there;

    The two eldest boys were asleep in their beds,
    While visions of Fox News anchors danc’d in their heads,
    And Melania in her night gown, ignoring my tap,
    Had just turned away for her long winter’s nap-

    When out on the south lawn there arose such a clatter,
    I turned off Rush Limbaugh to see what was the matter.
    To the window I went as the dark room unwinds,
    Hiked up my undies, and opened the blinds.

    The moon on my eyes was more kind than the eclipse,
    Illuminating the lawn cut by the boy who didn’t take tips;
    When, what to my failing eyes did befell,
    But a humming black van with the words SPECIAL COUNSEL,

    With a spirited driver, an oh-so-clever looking fella,
    I knew in a moment it must be Robert Mueller!

    More rapid than eagles, his prosecutors came,
    As I drew in my head, he calmly called them by name:
    “Now! Ahmad, now! Goldstein, now! Quarles, and Zebley,
    “On! Van Grack, on! Quarles, on! Zelinsky and Dickey;
    “To the top of Mar-a-lago! To the bottom of Trump Tower!
    Now seize everything! everything! take all his power!”

    Like an unraked forest that a fire had burned,
    This whirlwind of activity would leave no stone unturned;
    So ascending the roof, the team somehow flew,
    With their black, sturdy van and Robert Mueller too:

    And then, in a flash, I heard them up above,
    Sweeping for evidence, each wearing a black, leather glove.
    Knowing they were looking was not good for my health,
    To make matters worse, I suddenly saw Mueller himself:

    He’d snuck in the side door and was dressed in a suit,
    When he saw my reaction he let out a hoot;
    A bundle of evidence stored in his briefcase,
    And he look’d relieved, like he’d just won the race:

    His eyes – how they twinkled! His jawline so firm,
    His cheeks were like roses, his nose oh so stern;
    His lips were pursed, like he’d something to say,
    He was very clean cut, with no stubble that day;

    He took out a cigar and lighter from the vest that he wore,
    His smoke rings were perfect, he had done this before.
    He had an honest face, and a veteran’s physique
    He was tall and athletic and in no way meek

    He was scary and strong and so much smarter than I
    I peed my pants a bit and couldn’t help but cry

    A wink of his eye and a nod of his head
    Soon let me know that I had everything to dread

    He spoke not a word, but continued his job,
    And found all my tapes, even the ones from the mob,

    And pointing at me was a man so big and so large,
    He shook his head and back out the side door he’d charge

    He returned to his van, to his team gave a shout,
    Seventeen of them came, carrying evidence out:
    But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight-
    Mueller Christmas Donald, enjoy your last night!
