    My kids are going to Houston today. My ex is celebrating his birthday and he’s making Gumbo, fried fish etc. He can cook too.

    My brother’s wife is making enchiladas, tostadas, guacamole and pound cake.

      EXACTLY. If it’s not happening to them, it doesn’t exist. For all of my life, it has been this way. When POC and non-Christians complain about racism, bigotry, and discrimination in housing, jobs, medical care, policing, etc., millions of Americans don’t believe us because it’s not happening to them. This society has groomed them to dismiss our concerns about the absence of equality in America. The Trump administration decided last year to not permit the UN to investigate human relations in America. This tells me that the administration is afraid of what the investigation would reveal which is that America is not a nation where equality is a huge concern, and contrary to what the government’s official position is, human rights abuses are definitely occurring here.
