Yowza! Just like that #NewZealand banned all military style semi automatic weapons, assault rifles, high capacity magazines. This is how you do it America. Are you shame yet? Better take note! New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that all military-style semi-automatic weapons, assault rifles and high-capacity magazines will be banned in the country following the mass shootings at two Christchurch mosques that killed 50 people.

“Every semi-automatic weapon used in the terror attack on Friday will be banned,” Ardern said at a press conference in the New Zealand capital Wellington on Thursday. “This legislation will be drafted and introduced in urgency.”

Ardern said she hoped the law would be in place by April 11. Gun owners who wish to surrender their weapons were encouraged to start doing so now.
The announcement came after New Zealand’s cabinet said on Monday that it agreed “in principle” to reform gun laws.

Ardern said that the “worst act of terrorism on our shores” had exposed a range of weaknesses in New Zealand’s gun laws and promised that “within 10 days of this horrific act of terrorism we will have announced reforms which will, I believe, make our community safer.”

“An amnesty will be put in place for weapons to be handed in, and the cabinet has directed officials to develop a buyback scheme,” she said, adding that details on the buyback would be announced “in due course.”

“I strongly believe that the vast majority of legitimate gun owners in New Zealand will understand that these moves are in the national interest, and will take these changes in their stride,” she said.

      Sorry fam, but folks don’t get to now pretend to supposedly argue on behalf of Stacey Abrams …or pretend that this is about ‘protecting’ her from Biden’s baggage..

      It is not..

      This is about a decidedly cutthroat tantrum-throwing attempt at undermining a potential ticket that dares exclude *their* preferred pick.. Because, until rumors of Stacey Abrams being Biden’s choice for VP surfaced ..and strengthened in recent days, these same folks were eager to force-feed their version of ‘diversity ticket’ – but only specifically in the form of their amalgam candidate as the ‘diversity’ candidate, as part of a Biden ticket …

      We need to be very careful with the shenanigans and the glaringly obvious attempts at deception, strong-arming and undermining and preemptive clearing of the field …or by the time this is all done, whoever the Dem nominee is, won’t have the necessary support needed to get through..

      And for folks banking on ‘uniting’ after …and only if *their* preferred candidate is the nominee … and no matter the amount of malicious shenanigans …it is important that folks remember that for some folks, no amount of guilting, arm-twisting or scary stories about the buffoon will move said folks to the polls …if this isn’t a fairly won nomination..

    (CNN)An 8-point jump in support for California Sen. Kamala Harris stands out in a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS that shows a field of four in double digits in the race for the Democratic nomination for president.

    Former Vice President Joe Biden (28%) and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (20%) continue to hold the top slots in the large Democratic field. Harris now stands at 12% support among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, up from 4% in December, and the latest entrant to the field — former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke — stands at 11%.

    Harris’s rise comes across the board — there is no major demographic group in which she lost support since December — but her gains are more pronounced among Democrats (+10 points) than independents (+5), liberals (+10) more than moderates or conservatives (+7), women (+9) more than men (+6), and racial and ethnic minorities (+10) more than whites (+6).       Many Democrats are just flat out tired of Bernie Sanders!!! None of the pollsters have ever called me. If they had, they would have realized long ago that I have never supported Sanders for POTUS. They would have also discovered that there are millions of other Democrats who feel the same way about him. When early polls were taken and showed him the #1 pick for Democrats, I was wondering who the f*ck pollsters were calling. Sanders uses our party infrastructure to run for POTUS, but he doesn’t represent the interests of a wide swath of Democratic Party members. If he really wants to run for POTUS while distancing himself from our concerns, he should build his own d@mn party and infrastructure I’m sick of him. Will he admit and acknowledge that Black women are the backbone of the Democratic Party? Nope! Support gun control? Nope! Address the concern of POC for racism, discrimination, bigotry, and the increasing rise of white nationalism/supremacy? Nope! His major concerns seem to be trying to appeal to the WWC and income equality, but he has no plan for addressing income equality! In trying to appeal to WWC voters, he’s alienating Democratic voters, but is he smart enough to realize that WWC voters will likely never vote for him? Nope! The way he behaved in 2016, especially his combative and divisive behavior, turned me off to listening to anything he and any of his sycophants have to say.
