Tuesday Open Thread | ‘Slave Bible’ removed passages to instill obedience and uphold slavery

The “Slave Bible” on display at Washington’s Museum of the Bible has a mere 232 chapters, showing how whole chapters were removed to instill obedience, prevent rebellions and promote the horror of slavery.

Revelation 22:18-19 — For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    It makes sense that Biden would be for strengthening Obamacare and for the Public Option.
    I would like to point out that all the ideas about healthcare are on the Democratic Party side.

    Apparently Erik Prince has pitching wealthy Trump supporters and Venezuelan exiles on a plan to field a private 5,000 man army in Venezuela to oust President Maduro.

    Erik Prince – the founder of the controversial private security firm Blackwater and a prominent supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump – has been pushing a plan to deploy a private army to help topple Venezuela’s socialist president, Nicholas Maduro, four sources with knowledge of the effort told Reuters.

    Over the last several months, the sources said, Prince has sought investment and political support for such an operation from influential Trump supporters and wealthy Venezuelan exiles. In private meetings in the United States and Europe, Prince sketched out a plan to field up to 5,000 soldiers-for-hire on behalf of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido, according to two sources with direct knowledge of Prince’s pitch.

    One source said Prince has conducted meetings about the issue as recently as mid-April.

    MOSCOW/LONDON (Reuters) – It was a quiet Easter holiday at the offices of major European oil companies and refiners when an email in Russian landed. “What the hell does it say?” one manager recalled thinking as he sent it to his Moscow office for translation.

    He was in for a shock.

    The letter was from the state pipeline company in Belarus, Gomeltransneft, telling oil refiners and pipeline operators in Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic that the crude heading toward them from Russia down the 5,500 km (3,400 mile) Druzhba pipeline network was heavily contaminated.

    “We ask you to immediately take all measures to avoid potential losses and other negative consequences,” said the Gomeltransneft letter dated April 19 and seen by Reuters.

    Contaminated oil has been found in Belarus, Poland, Germany, Ukraine and the Baltic port of Ust Luga, all of which are served by the Druzhba network, said multiple sources involved in trading Russian oil said.

    “This oil is not sellable. You cannot just dump the price and sell it at a discount. No one wants this oil,” a second source at a Western oil company said.

    Buyers who have received contaminated oil now need to store it somewhere and dilute it with cleaner crude to lower chloride levels, an operation that could costs millions of dollars for each large crude tanker, according to oil trading sources.

    The oil at the Ust Luga port, for example, could gradually be loaded onto ships mixed with better quality crude but solutions are less obvious for oil still in the pipeline.

    For now, there is no explanation as to how the oil was tainted. The scale of the contamination suggests corrupted crude could have been pumped into the pipeline for days, if not weeks.

    Belarus said on Tuesday that the volume of contaminated crude could be as high as 5 million tonnes – equivalent to a month’s exports via Druzhba of about 1.2 million barrels a day and worth $2.7 billion at current prices.

    In a news briefing on Friday, Igor Dyomin, an aide to Transeft’s Tokarev, told Russian media “the contamination was intentional”.

    The idea that Sanders rolled out an app which encouraged his followers to report on those who don’t “feel the Bern” is one step beyond for me.

    I’ve not been much on the “Never Bernie” track, because my one overriding goal is to send Donald Trump out of the White House and into jail.

    But this gross totalitarian move by Sanders is one step too far for me.

    This is no different than the Cuban CDR’s, or how the East German Stasi had most of the population spying on each other. This, should Bernie win, is laying the groundwork for informants snitching on those not willing to go to Washington and march to push Bernie’s pet projects.

    That this is an ill-thought out project is a lie. This was very well-thought out.

    Sanders is nothing but a totalitarian in the mold of Trump, just of the left rather than of the right.

    He knows he’s divisive. But his own will to power wouldn’t allow him to sit out this election. He had to run, because he is the only savior.

    Sanders is nothing but a mediocre white man who has drawn sustenance from the example of mediocre white man Donald Trump. If he can “win”, so can Bernie.

    Sanders has accomplished nothing, aside from conning Vermont voters to elect him. And this Gulag Archipelago app, which encourages his followers to snitch on people they know, is evidence of this. He can’t win a fair fight. He had one in 2016, and had his ass handed to him.

        For Mika, it’s really always about attacking my FLOTUS.. which is why it becomes ‘the Obamas’ – only when it’s something negative .otherwise, if it’s good news, Mika makes it just about the elected historic president …

That my historic FLOTUS is filling up arenas and flying out the likes of Colbert etc, to come interview her .. makes the ‘know-your-value’ purveyor and her pal Katty Kay and all the others – Mrs Greenspan (who Eugene Robinson quickly shot down when she tried to come for my historic FLOTUS last week), Dana Bash, Kate Bouldan, Erin Burnett, Kate Bennett (the Birther 3rd wife’s CNN personal pr fluffer) etc. – and all their other fellow green-eyed, callous racists – including that women-in-the-world buffoon-lover Tina Brown, red in the face and laying eggs in fury..

        For years Mika kept trying to get Valerie Jarrett and Tina Tchen to have my historic FLOTUS show up at Mika’s scam-sham… Jarrett and Tchen kept offering up themselves instead when my FLOTUS wouldn’t oblige …Jarrett even made Mika the host-interviewer at her 1st book release ‘conversation’ event …and not even their fake friendships has stopped Mika and Scarborough from pushing derogatory stuff, and lashing out and disrespecting and trying to implicate them in negative stuff … including still stoking the Smollett story ..perhaps hoping that the Smollett-Tina Tchen connection will somehow lead to/implicate my historic FLOTUS.. As if..

        Every week she tries it… Last week Mika tried her darnedest to come again for my historic FLOTUS feigning as much faux-outrage as she could muster over some laughably bogus ‘controversy’ about some lighthearted hypothetical ‘divorced dad’ analogy the right-wing folks and some others were pushing hard in their umpteenth attempt to try to strangle and take down my historic FLOTUS.. And as they rallied as many toxic folks as they could find in their ranks, (ironically, most who by their seriously warped tantrums and public displays perfectly fit the hypothetical dad figure in the analogy), they desperately hoped that they could make a dent, end her successful book run.. (Alt-right demon Ben Shapiro the week before had proudly screenshot and touted his book debuting at #1 ..with all of 40,000 copies sold …and pushing Becoming to #2 – but of course, Becoming was right back at #1 the next week and Shapiro’s book had completely fallen off the list after the solitary 1 week ..

        The rest of the MorningJoe panel wouldn’t bite .. each of the usual suspects at the table just stared at Mika sheepishly in uncomfortable silence as she bleated on about knowing ‘good’ divorced dads.. To which someone on twitter shot back, that if the analogy didn’t fit or apply, then there was no need to get all worked up and faux-outraged about it..

        You have to laugh when they all black-out any positive news about my historic FLOTUS nada about her memoir, its success etc. but then want to lamely jump on some made-up bullshit they hope dings her and negatively impacts her book tour..

        Perhaps that’s that insidious Scarborough agenda at work … but if Mika thinks she’s ‘boosting’ Biden (Morning Joe flavor of the month/week) by attacking the Obamas, she better think again.. because even the slightest whiff of perceived disrespect of the Obamas, will essentially kill their flavor’s candidacy before it even begins.. And it’s not just his trusty wingman to the historic president rep that needs sustaining… If and or when the time comes, no matter how much bromance is peddled, if my historic FLOTUS decides to stay silent and does not give her public blessing, it’s over.. they can all continue to underestimate her at their peril.. even as they all continue to study and rip off her speeches and interviews and campaign videos.. And continue to try to chip away at her on the sly, hoping it’ll curtail and contain her popularity and effortlessly compelling influence … forgetting that she’s called ‘the Closer’ for very good reason.. or maybe that’s the entire point, they’ve not forgotten..
