The thug pretending to be president IS running a campaign of terror. It is no different than the klan’s reign of racial terror against Black people. His hateful words are radicalizing people like #PatrickCrusius to target & kill folks in Walmart based on their ethnicity. He must be impeached and removed from Office. He’s a danger to this country and the world.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., accused the Trump administration of waging a “campaign of terror” against minority communities in America, pointing specifically to the recent Mississippi food processing plant raids that picked up 680 suspected undocumented workers.

Noting that the raids last week arrested predominately Latino workers, the Democratic presidential hopeful said she believes Hispanics feel targeted in America. In an interview with “Meet the Press,” Harris also questioned why the raids occurred so close to last weekend’s mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, the largest targeted attack on Latinos in modern American history.

“We must point out and never condone anyone who uses their power in a way that fans it. But the reality is that these are forms of hate that are not new to our country, which have in the history of our country taken lethal proportion, and, still today, take on lethal proportion,” she said.

“This administration has directed DHS to conduct these raids as part of what I believe is this administration’s campaign of terror, which is to make whole populations of people afraid to go to work,” Harris said. “Children are afraid to go to school for fear that when they come home, their parents won’t be there.”

The raids hit several work sites in Mississippi, with immigration officials hailing it as the “largest single-state enforcement action in [the] nation’s history.”

Community leaders and immigration advocates have criticized the administration’s handling of the raid, pointing to the effects it will have on children whose parents were apprehended and to lack of criminal actions against the employers specifically.

When asked about the decision to hold the raid shortly after the El Paso shooting, where the shooter told police he was targeting “Mexicans,” acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan told “Meet the Press” Sunday that the timing was “unfortunate.”

But he defended the raid as the culmination of a lengthy investigation “done with sensitivity” by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents, and said law enforcement released 45 percent of those arrested within the first day for humanitarian reasons, including child care.

    My tv had all of these yellow colors showing and it wasn’t but 2/12 years old so I bought another. Josh came and set it up yesterday. I wasn’t about to mess with that big old tv and have it fall off the mantel. I’m going to call Dish and have them mount it on the wall for me. They’re proud of their prices too. 😏 Josh wanted spaghetti so I made some. He said I haven’t had spaghetti in a year and Mama this taste so good. Do you know once Josh left to go home, I knocked the tv off the satellite? 😟 I couldn’t get a picture back for nothing. I called Josh and he said facetime me and we’ll get it back. I was so nervous. But he got it back. Thank God for facetime! 🙂

    A co-worker of mine was tired this morning from cooking for her grandson’s new girlfriend – they had her over for Sunday Dinner. His mother – her daughter- passed away, so he asked Grandma to cook the dinner. I don’t know why, but, I love the ritual of it all. The girl and her mother coming over to meet the family. The grandson goes to Morehouse, and the girl goes to Spelman.

    We get so many messages about how Black love doesn’t exist. I like to appreciate it in all forms, especially young Black love, just beginning :)

    Jay is here too. He’s kinda sad because he wanted to go to Dallas with his daddy. I feel sad seeing Jay sad. 😢

        I told him we’ll do something once we pick up Haley from Color Guard practice. Jay was trying hard to hold back tears but he was teary eyed. I felt so sorry for him. Hurt my heart.😢

    “you ever chop before?” Willena Scott-White was testing me. I sat with her in the cab of a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, swatting at the squadrons of giant, fluttering mosquitoes that had invaded the interior the last time she opened a window. I was spending the day with her family as they worked their fields just outside Ruleville, in Mississippi’s Leflore County. With her weathered brown hands, Scott-White gave me a pork sandwich wrapped in a grease-stained paper towel. I slapped my leg. Mosquitoes can bite through denim, it turns out.

    Cotton sowed with planters must be chopped—thinned and weeded manually with hoes—to produce orderly rows of fluffy bolls. The work is backbreaking, and the people who do it maintain that no other job on Earth is quite as demanding. I had labored long hours over other crops, but had to admit to Scott-White, a 60-something grandmother who’d grown up chopping, that I’d never done it.

    “Then you ain’t never worked,” she replied.

    The fields alongside us as we drove were monotonous. With row crops, monotony is good. But as we toured 1,000 acres of land in Leflore and Bolivar Counties, straddling Route 61, Scott-White pointed out the demarcations between plots. A trio of steel silos here. A post there. A patch of scruffy wilderness in the distance. Each landmark was a reminder of the Scott legacy that she had fought to keep—or to regain—and she noted this with pride. Each one was also a reminder of an inheritance that had once been stolen.

    Drive Route 61 through the Mississippi Delta and you’ll find much of the scenery exactly as it was 50 or 75 years ago. Imposing plantations and ramshackle shotgun houses still populate the countryside from Memphis to Vicksburg. Fields stretch to the horizon. The hands that dig into black Delta dirt belong to people like Willena Scott-White, African Americans who bear faces and names passed down from men and women who were owned here, who were kept here, and who chose to stay here, tending the same fields their forebears tended.

    But some things have changed. Back in the day, snow-white bolls of King Cotton reigned. Now much of the land is green with soybeans. The farms and plantations are much larger—industrial operations with bioengineered plants, laser-guided tractors, and crop-dusting drones. Fewer and fewer farms are still owned by actual farmers. Investors in boardrooms throughout the country have bought hundreds of thousands of acres of premium Delta land. If you’re one of the millions of people who have a retirement account with the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, for instance, you might even own a little bit yourself.
