Open Thread | Where Are The Teens Taken By ICE??😠😠

Where are the immigrant teens? There’s so much wrong going on with this Administration, it’s hard to pick a story. But, this one stood out because I don’t see it going around MSM. Remember this, they haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt. Your mind, when thinking about what could be happening, should go to the worst possible situation. Not only is it probably true, but, it keeps an air of reality about this Administration. This Administration which has been stealing people’s children. We’ve been thinking about the migrants at the border, and the pain and horror inflicted upon those children, some winding up dead. Others winding up ‘ lost’.

LOST?
How do you lose children?
How does my cleaners have a better tracking system of my clothes, than the U.S. Government does for migrant children?

So now, according to this article, we need to be worried about immigrant teens inside of the United States that have been taken by ICE, which is up to no good.

Secret and unaccountable’: Where some immigrant teens are being taken by ICE
By Blake Ellis and Melanie Hicken, CNN
Updated 6:12 AM ET, Thu October 24, 2019

(CNN)Angelina Godoy started digging for answers more than a year ago.

The human rights researcher had heard that ICE agents occasionally swept up migrant kids and locked them up in juvenile detention facilities, but she had no idea why.
One of the places ICE supposedly housed these young people, Godoy learned, was a few hours from her home in Seattle. She searched online for information about the detentions, but couldn’t find anything that explained what was going on. She then filed a series of public records requests with officials at the juvenile detention center closest to her, hoping they could shed light on what ICE was doing and why these minors were being held in places run more like jails than the shelters most migrant children end up in when they are detained. She had specifically requested detailed detainee files, with names and personal information redacted, and the facility was ready to share them with her.
But what happened next stunned her: ICE blocked the facility from sharing the records and the federal government even went to court to keep the information secret.

Unbeknownst to Godoy, she had stumbled upon an obscure pocket of the immigration system, where little is known, and little is divulged.

For more than a decade, ICE has been taking a small number of immigrant teens it deems to be dangerous far from their families and detaining them for months at a time.
For immigration attorneys and human rights experts such as Godoy, the practice is alarming.

“I may not object to the fact they are being held,” said Godoy, director of the Center for Human Rights at the University of Washington. “But I object to the fact that nobody can even know who they are (and) why.”
Public attention has primarily focused on the treatment of children who recently crossed the border illegally on their own or with their parents. These kids are usually held in Border Patrol camps, family shelters overseen by ICE or on their own in facilities run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) for so-called “unaccompanied” children, after arriving without any parents or being separated from them.

…………………..

Immigrant youth — regardless of their residency status — are supposed to receive a number of legal protections when detained. Yet more than a dozen immigration attorneys describe the agency’s detention of minors as a black hole with little oversight or easy access to lawyers who can help them navigate complicated immigration law.
The places these youth are held don’t appear on ICE’s online map of detention centers. The agency doesn’t make its reports about the conditions of the facilities available like it does for others. And family members can’t find their loved ones using the federal government’s official detainee locator since it only provides information on adults.

Snatching up children- that’s what they are if they’re not adults. And, we don’t know where they’re being taken…or, have a list of facilities where they could be?
WHAT.THE.PHUCK?

This is outrageous and but another part of the nightmare immigration policy of this Administration. The damage being done to these children. How terrified they must be. What hell they must be experiencing at the hands of ICE.

Pence cagey in response to straightforward Ukraine scandal question
    10/29/19 10:25 AM—UPDATED 10/29/19 10:50 AM
    By Steve Benen

On Sunday morning, much of the country’s attention was focused on Donald Trump’s announcement on the demise of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and for good reason. When a military raid leads to the death of ISIS’s founder and leader, it’s a major development of international significance.

But also on Sunday morning, Vice President Mike Pence sat down with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan, who asked on Face the Nation about the Trump administration’s ongoing Ukraine scandal. The host noted, for example, that at least four U.S. officials have now testified under oath about their knowledge of a proposed deal with Ukraine about a Biden-related investigation. Brennan asked, “Are they all lying?”

Pence replied, “Well, I can only tell you what I know. And what I know is that the transcript of [Trump’s] call with President Zelensky shows that there was no quid pro quo.”

It was a problematic response for a few reasons. The “transcript,” for example, was really more of a call summary, and it may not fully reflect a word-for-word record of what was said. What’s more, the summary is actually quite incriminating – which is why the White House’s allies believe it was a “huge mistake” for Trump to release it – a fact that’s made worse by additional details that have since come to light.

But of even greater interest was Pence’s assertion that he’s only prepared to say what he personally knows. In other words, the vice president wasn’t prepared to endorse the White House’s talking points in their entirety, so much as he was willing to speak to his own narrow vantage point.

This became a problematic posture when the host asked, over and over again, whether Pence was aware of the larger scheme Team Trump was trying to execute with Ukraine.

Rachel Maddow shows that contrary to arguments by Trump defenders that Trump was only kidding when he called on China to investigate Joe Biden’s son, reports from multiple sources suggest otherwise; that Ukraine isn’t the only country Trump pressured to help his personal, domestic politics.

This is one of the best explanations that I found at another blog, as to why so many in the MSM got the vapors about Dolt45 being booed:

    GOVCHRIS1988

You know what, I’ve been thinking about the reaction from a lot of these white pundits to Trump getting booed and I see a connection with the Sevier County, Tennessee commissioner. Baseball is called, “America’s Pastime” for a reason. It is probably the only sport that is white dominated. Sure, there are Black players and Latino players, but mostly its a white sport dominated by white people. It is also very conservative. Hell, Bush owned a team. And the World Series is something ardent fans of baseball go to. I mean, these folks put away money just in case their team gets to the World Series.

When Trump got booed like that by their own, they can’t deny that its just Liberals or Democrats or the Deep State. These are voters that Trump needs in his corner come November 2020 for reelection. And they booed him at a World Series game. I think these pundits, even if they have disdain for Trump and saw not just rejection of Trump, but rejection of them.

Trump is the embodiment of a Mad Men type white man. A white man, who is in a job that he has NO qualifications to be in, shouldn’t be rich, shouldn’t be free (muthafucka should have been in jail years ago) who has gotten away with more shit than anyone and has the confidence of a 10 inch dicked, 6 foot 4, buff handsome God for NO reason other than he’s white. He is their avatar. Their sign that they are still in charge. It disturbs them how hated he is. Yeah, he’s brash, he’s rude, he’s crude, narcissistic, egotistical, racist, sexist, homophobic, just plain ugly, but he’s white. The whiteness should trump all of that, and they are shocked it doesn’t.

I also think like Trump, they hate and are obsessed with how beloved the Obamas are. They are beloved the world over. It disturbs them totally how Barack Obama outshines his predecessor and successor. It disturbs them how he moved Bill Clinton away from being the Democratic golden boy to just a former president. It disturbs them how he is able to just teflon off their hate and shine brighter.

The hate and disdain of Trump is of course Trump’s fault. He never tried to moderate himself or control his negative base instincts. But, to white America, its also a sign that they as an institution are being rejected. Think about it. The chart toppers are mostly black and people of color, or they are written and produced by black and people of color, or they have guested black and people of color on their singles. The style world is now interested more and utilizing black or people of color. More models are being used that are dark skinned, with kinky hair than light brite and using wigs that are white centered. We dominate sports, and the sports we don’t dominate are an afterthought. We are breaking into more lead roles on film and television, centered on us. We are now the love interests, not the sidekicks. We are becoming more bosses and CEO’s and Chairmen of the Board of companies. Shit is changing from where it was and white men are freaking the fuck out. Its why you get this nonsense now.
