Open Thread | Where We Are With The Impeachment Inquiry

So, in case you missed it, the House is going to begin live Impeachment Inquiry Hearings on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

Chairman Adam Schiff has been releasing transcripts of the witnesses. And, all I can say is, thank goodness for the professional staff. They have been filling in all the blanks, and just putting it out there—the crimes of this President with regards to Ukraine.

The following transcripts have been released:
Former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanivich
Former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State Ambassador P. Michael McKinley
Former Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker
Ukraine Embassy Chief of Mission Ambassador Bill Taylor
EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland (who suddenly remembered all this new stuff once the other transcripts were released)

Some want to say that ‘ quid pro quo’ has been proven.

It has, but, I agree with others – don’t call it ‘quid pro quo’. Call it was it was – BRIBERY AND EXTORTION.

And, it goes back far earlier than we suspected. The professionals alerted folks months before it became obvious – their fear that Dolt45’s lawyer – Rudy Giuliani – was carrying out a shadow foreign policy, outside of the bounds of the United States State Department.

Some really good video segments:

Top U.S. diplomat to Ukraine ties Trump to quid pro quo

The top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, Bill Taylor, told House impeachment investigators last month that President Donald Trump directed officials to tie military aid to Ukraine to demands that the country open politically advantageous probes, according to his deposition.

Foreign Affairs member: ‘Republicans were scared’ of Bill Taylor’s deposition

Rep. Gregory Meeks tells Lawrence O’Donnell that Republican committee members feared that everything they asked William Taylor would just further confirm the whistleblower’s damning account. Meeks says that every transcript that has come out so far speaks for itself. Lawrence also discusses with Mieke Eoyang and Ned Price.

Indicted Giuliani associate willing to cooperate with impeachment investigation

One of Giuliani’s indicted associates, Lev Parnas, who helped dig up dirt on Trump’s political rival in Ukraine has indicated he’s willing to cooperate with the impeachment inquiry by testifying and supplying documents subpoenaed by Congress. Chuck Rosenberg tells Lawrence O’Donnell that “most defendants become convicted felons and most convicted felons look for ways to cooperate in order to reduce their sentence.”

Diplomats’ texts lay out Trump Ukraine scheme in stark detail

Rachel Maddow reports on newly published transcripts of text messages between Kurt Volker, Gordon Sondland and others, in which Donald Trump’s demand for investigations into Joe Biden’s son and a debunked conspiracy theory in exchange for foreign aid and a White House meeting for Ukraine are discussed in plain terms, even as Sondland made late changes to his testimony to the Donald Trump impeachment committees.

I believe Barr put this out..trying to stave off his own impeachment.

WaPo: Trump wanted Barr to hold news conference saying Trump broke no laws in Ukraine call

The Washington Post reports that Trump wanted Barr to hold a news conference saying President Trump broke no laws in call with the Ukrainian leader.

Someone else put out this correction:
Again, that WaPo story is incorrect.
Barr didn’t DECLINE to do what Trump asked.
He DELEGATED the exoneration of something the AG knew tied to an ongoing conspiracy investigation to his spox. Trump got his exoneration. Just w/o Barr provably involved.https://t.co/3KJgpRFf1v

Chris Hayes: Yes, there was a quid pro quo

Gordon Sondland’s testimony reveals Trump was, without question, demanding a quid pro quo from Ukraine.
And now, the GOP wants to out the Whistleblower, which is illegal. Their obsession on this is ridiculous. Because, everything the Whistleblower put in their memo, HAS BEEN VALIDATED BY NUMEROUS OTHER TESTIMONIES.

EVERYTHING.

And, things that even the Whistleblower didn’t know.
Remember, we only have had a ‘ read out/outline’ of the key July phone call.

Dolt45 is right. Release the transcripts.

THE ACTUAL TRANSCRIPTS.

WHAT’S HIDDEN ON THE SECRET SERVER.

Yes, let’s get folks in front of the cameras to tell about Dolt45’s extortion and bribery.

Can’t wait for this to start on November 13, 2019.

This really, really makes me MAD as f****** hell.

A 12 year old kid, black or otherwise, does not understand the depth and breadth of the racism in this country. A kid that young just simply hasn’t lived long enough.

So these kids think they are just like anyone else, the people they interact with, the people they see on TV etc…

Then comes the baptism of fire.

This is wrong. And it is evil.

Trump wanting Barr to hold a press conference and say no laws were broken is completely consistent with his efforts to obstruct the Mueller probe.
