Christmas candles 84Sleigh Ride” is a popular light orchestral piece composed by Leroy Anderson. The composer had the original idea for the piece during a heat wave in July 1946; he finished the work in February 1948. Lyrics, about a person who would like to ride in a sleigh on a winter’s day with another person, were written by Mitchell Parish in 1950. The orchestral version was first recorded in 1949 by Arthur Fiedler and The Boston Pops Orchestra. The song was a hit record on RCA Victor Red Seal 49-0515 (45 rpm) / 10-1484 (78 rpm), and has become the equivalent of a signature song for the orchestra. The 45 rpm version was originally issued on red vinyl. This original mono version has never been available on CD, although the later 1959 re-recording is available in stereo. The orchestra has also recorded the song with John Williams, their conductor from 1979 to 1995, and Keith Lockhart, their current conductor.

    Barack & Michelle Obama Just Bought a $11.75M, 7-Bedroom Martha’s Vineyard Estate: Reports

    The Obamas just turned one of their favorite vacation spots into their new home.

    Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama this week purchased a 6,892-square-foot home on Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts, according to the Vineyard Gazette and TMZ.

    PEOPLE confirms the seven-bedroom island mansion was sold Wednesday for $11.75 million to a trust.

    The deed also names as trustee James F. Reynolds, a Chicago investment banker who has been friends with President Obama, 58, since he was a state senator in Illinois. Reynolds was a member of Obama’s national finance committee during the 2008 presidential election.

      Biden doesn’t bother with mincing words when folks say stupid stuff to him, and I don’t blame him. The folks who are criticizing him for calling that guy a liar to his face are the same ones who thought nothing about Trump leading a ”bull*hit” chant less than two weeks ago. As my dearly departed mama would say, “They’re as full of sh*t as a Christmas turkey.” I no longer pay any attention to their selective outrage. If it’s okay for a sitting POTUS to curse in public, it’s okay for any other politician to say what is on his/her mind. No double standards. I”m fed up with the idea that if a GOP pol says something, it’s okay, but if a Democratic politician says something similar, these b*sta*rds head for the smelling salts and fainting couches. It’s all self-serving BS. Every bit of it. GOPers need to stop dishing it, if they can’t take it. Let the Golden Rule apply to everyone. No carve outs should be employed.
