Open Thread | About the Governmental Infrastructure That SHOULD Have Been In Place To Fight COVID-19

I have written and posted before about the GOVERNMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE that 44 put in place to fight a PANDEMIC.
Here is a Twitter thread about positions going back to 43, that Dolt45 couldn’t be bothered to fill.

If he raises the wages of the minions on the frontlines, how on earth is he ever going to afford to pay to sate the many personal demons of his raging midlife crisis.. or afford to take off with the plastic, silicone-filled gold-digger he left his wife and kids for.. cruising on the Mediterranean for 2 month-long million dollar summer yacht-hopping and living it up with other billionaires..

If he pays these workers a decent living/catastrophe wage, how on earth does he with all his tens of billions afford to maintain his new stylist and the ridiculously douche-y ‘cool dude’ makeover he now flaunts.. or the endless Botox and lip fillers for his cheap trick..

      Decisions, decisions, decisions..

Except, lose the ‘president’ title when referring to the soulless buffoon.. can’t be stressed enough, as long as that title is used for him, it essentially boosts him in the eyes of a lot of those who aren’t even necessarily his voter demographic.. we now know just how shallow, uninformed/misinformed and easily swayed far too many are.. and not just those previously cast as the ‘low-info’ crowd..

Mitch McConnell is a demon from hell. I cannot remember in my lifetime a person more despicable in American politics. He is second to none.

Cuomo bitchslapping a clowning reporter trying to give credibility to the ‘protestors’.

I could watch this exchange on an endless loop.
THIS is how every Democrat should respond when asked about those muthaphuckas:

At 48:00 minutes in, an exchange with a female reporter who is channeling pure wingnut: the reopen protesters. Cuomo eventually tells the protesters they can go get a job as an essential worker — there are plenty still available — and then they can be working and not killing anyone.

Reporter: …. Their point is the cure can’t be worse than the illness itself. What is your response to them?

Cuomo: The illness is death. What is worse than death?

Reporter: What if somebody commit[s] suicide because they can’t pay their bills?

Cuomo: Yeah, but the illnesses may be my death as opposed to your death. You said they said “the cure is worse than the illness.” The illness is death. How can the cure be worse than the illness if the illness is potential death?

Reporter: But what if the economy failing-

    Cuomo: Worse than death?

Reporter: … the people stuck at home.

Cuomo: No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t equal death. Economic hardship. Yes, very bad. Not death. Emotional stress from being locked in a house. Very bad, not death. Domestic violence on the increase. Very bad, not death; and not death of someone else

…. See, that’s what we have to factor into this equation. Yeah, it’s your life. Do whatever you want, but you’re not responsible for my life. You have a responsibility to me. It’s not just about you. You have responsibility to me, right? We started here saying, it’s not about me. It’s about we. Get your head around the we concept. It’s not all about you. It’s about me too. It’s about we.

….. Reporter: But they can’t wait for the money. They’re out of money.

……I understand the economic hardship. We all feel it. The question is what do you do about it, and do you put public health at risk, and do you drive up the number of deaths for it because you have no idea how to reopen now?

Reporter: They’re saying that, “Is there a fundamental right to work if the government can’t get me the money when I need it?” Is there a fundamental right to go to work?

Cuomo: By the way, do you want to go to work? Go take the job as an essential worker. Do it tomorrow. Right, you’re working.

    Reporter: I am.

Cuomo: You’re an essential worker. Go take the job as an essential worker.

Reporter: But the people are [not] hiring because of the pandemic.

Cuomo: No, there are people hiring. You can get a job as an essential worker, so now you can go to work and you can be an essential worker and you’re not going to kill anyone.

BWA H AH AH HA AH HA HA

YEAH..GO BE AN ESSENTIAL WORKER IF WORKING MEANS THAT MUCH TO YOU.

I have been buying stuff in preparation for when I do have to go back to the physical office. I’ve been buying different kinds of masks. Alcohol swabs, hand sanitizer. I realize now that I am going to be wearing boots for the forseeable future. Boots that you would wear in the rain. I am going to wear them. Wipe them down when I get to work. Put on the shoes that I have at work. When time to go home, put the boots back on and leave them right outside of my door when I get home.

Since I don’t believe in crossing my door in any clothes that I wear outside, I’ve bought myself 3 new hoodies, so that I can switch up. I also bought 4 new satin lined caps. I will have hat hair all the time now, but, oh well.I am soon gonna be a Black woman who will be washing her hair everyday, so I had to go out and stack up on shampoo and conditioner. I usually only wash my hair once every other week. This is going to be a change for me. Don’t know how my hair will handle it.

we need large scale testing to find out WHO HAD IT…not just who has it.
The people who had it might have antibodies that can help current patients.
There’s so many reasons why TESTING ON A LARGE SCALE IS KEY for us getting any semblance of our lives back.

I shudder just thinking about them. I almost go into a panic thinking about how an outbreak would be there.

This is yet another example of how women in power aren’t always any less callous, incompetent, greedy, heartless..

I know that we aren’t supposed to believe in polls, but, I do believe in the polls that have Biden leading with Seniors.
      Why?
Because of The Rona, they can’t see their grandchildren. Even if they are Fox watching nuts, a lot of them have children who are like, Nope, not coming to see you.
Whatever bullshyt Fox is selling, folks know when their grandchildren and children can’t see them.
This is what has the GOP stymied. The Fox bubble rubs up against the actual lives folks are leading.
