One theory as to why Joe Kennedy is trying to unseat Ed Markey is that he is afraid if he waits for the open seat he will be up against Ayanna Pressley. It sounds plausible given that Kennedy doesn’t seem to have any reason to be challenging Markey other than he wants to be in the Senate.
