Firman Chandra Siregar was a passenger on the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370
Firman’s father, C.H. Siregar, and his mother, Herlina Boru Napitupulu, have been searching for an explanation since Saturday about their son’s fate.
“Firman was a smart kid, he was just accepted to work at a major oil company. A few days before the flight he was participating in an orientation in Malaysia,” Siregar said.
Firman graduated from the prestigious Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and was immediately accepted at American-owned oil company Schlumberger.
The night before he flew to Beijing, Firman contacted his mother and told her he was heading to China.
He comforted his worried parents who were concerned about recent reports of terrorism in the southwestern province of Yunnan, where knife-wielding assailants left 29 people dead and more than 130 wounded in the subway.
He assured them that Beijing would be safe for him.
