Jessica Watkins, 29, from Lafayette, Colorado
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geological and Environmental Sciences at Stanford University, and a Doctorate in Geology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
She’s also worked at NASA’s Ames Research Center and the Jet Propulsion Lab, and her experience includes collaboration on the Curiosity Rover.
And, during the event, Flight Operations Director Brian Kelly joked ‘we intend to send her to Mars one day folks.’
