Ametia, this is a partial repeat of a comment I made on your Serenipity Soul/Friday Open Thread (09/23/2011). Since 3chicspolitico has a thread devoted exclusively to Obama Love, I thought I’d post part of my comments here in this thread as well.
POTUS & FLOTUS are the only two people I know of (on TV or in my own personal life) who can make a split second of intimate touching look like a burst of hot passion. Although I’m a married woman, I’m just a little bit jealous of Michelle because President Obama really knows how to “touch” his lady. I can only imagine what the two of them are like behind closed doors.
Oh, let me stop. It’s late. It’s time for me go to bed and get with my man. ;)

Ah, Black Love; it’s a BEAUTIFUL thing. I know Michelle is his First Lady of Comfort during his most trying times.
He has always stated Michelle is his rock! Remember how she comforted him when he lost the New Hampshire Primary and she came out to comfort him? It’s one of my favorite photos.
This ONE.RIGHT.HERE. Literally Having each other’s BACK. Hubby & I can so relate to this photo of Michelle & Barack. We can have our disagreements, et.al, but when it comes to supporting each other and reaching goals, WE’VE GOT EACH OTHER’S BACK! And bet NOBODY try and mess with us.
Maybe I’m getting into territory better suited for comments from the women, but it does seem quite clear that they have a strong relationship…blessed by two beautiful children. But I have wondered…and commented…on the fact that so many in the GOP vilify him at every opportunity, often deliberately creating such opportunity.
If you look at what those in conservative circles claim is important to them, such as family loyalty, faithfulness to one’s personal relationships, being a responsible parent, etc. you would think they would hold him up as an example to others.
Instead, they continue talking about him as though he was one of those they despise so vehemently who leaves single mothers in his wake, fails to support his children, and lives on welfare checks!
With cretins like this –including the hateful fools at FOX News doing the judging, Obama might as well give up.
The fact that he was a “community organizer” was apparently deserving of a special sneer from Mayor Rudy 911. Disgusting? You bet!
And his impressive educational accomplishments seemed to be a joke to some of his political rivals. In fact, their attitude toward education in itself is frightening.
As for his personal life? Let’s see. One wife. Two children in who’s lives he is totally involved. A wife any man would be proud of.
His critics: Gingrich? Limbaugh? McCain? Between these three alone? What? Seven or eight ex-wives?( Two of them dumped for younger women as they fought life threatening health battles) And at least one druggie. Imagine a low life like Gingrich in the Oval Office? God help us! And all the while, it is Obama who is looking out for those of us with incomes somewhat below that of the vile Koch brothers.
It is Obama who behaves like a gentleman, speaks like a decent human, and actually understands the problems facing America.
And these braggarts….empty suits…think of themselves as “leaders.”
Again, I say we should be grateful Obama was ready when we needed him.
My greatest fear is that all this right wing and Tea Party rhetoric will “inspire” another madman.
Meanwhile, I am eagerly awaiting his address at the memorial in a couple of hours. It will be interesting to watch the dimwits at FOX do their best to convince the dupes in their audience that it was all wrong….and none of Obama’s business. Speaking of FOX, gotta go! I have to take the trash out before I settle in to watch OUR president!
Love is a beautiful thing, male-female, male-male, female-female. IMHO.
It’s a blessing to recognize the love of another, it’s indicative of one’s own capacity to love and be loved.

stunning. they were just walking across the lawn from Marine One, but….maybe it was the time of day and how the light hit them, but I think it was more… the only word that came to mind looking at them was POWERCOUPLE. and, I had to think how much POTUS and FLOTUS have grown into their roles since Nov. 4, 2008.

Every picture that you see of them, the strength of their love comes through so clearly. Their body language and the way they look at each other – you just can’t fake that! We are all so lucky to have a President who has a rock-solid foundation of family love like that. He’s in the toughest job in the world – he’s got to have a strong woman to lean on.
