Terry Crews says every child needs a father, and is pummeled for it on TV | Black Like Moi
June 15, 2014
Is the war between men and women so bad that a man can’t even say that a child needs to have a father? What if a someone said that kids don’t need their mothers, would we have the same reaction.
It’s father’s day, so maybe fathers need to be given the respect they deserve, instead of being lumped together as a pack of deadbeats and degenerates. Terry Crews appeared on The View where this disturbing exchange took place. For those of you that have good dads, do you value him or is he worthless? Read more:
The world is heavily politicized, and people are picking their camps. They are also fighting over even the smallest issues in the gender wars and there is no end in sight. Actor Terry Crews was taken to task during an episode of “The View” recently when speaking about the importance of children having a father.
In the clip below, Crews says that a father gives many important things to you a child, including his inheritance of a legacy, his confidence and his name. But he’s not talking about the words behind the name. Instead, he is referring to the identity that children keep with them when they go through life.
Mothers are precious and necessary in the life of a child, most people would agree with that. Would it be wrong to say the same thing about fathers?
During the debate, Sherri Shepherd comes to Terry’s defense.

I 100% agree with Mr. Crew. Anyone who tries to NEGATE a child having a father, daughter or son, either did not have a father (MALE ENERGY) around, or had a father around and the father did NOT have “fathering” skills.
My father died in 2010, I miss him still. He gave me so much, and it has been instilled in me. He paid for my college education, even after I got married and had my daughters.
He believed in me and gave me and my 7 sisters the confidence and education on how to choose good mates. We didn’t necessarily have to marry, but we knew enough about how to chose a mate with those core qualities of being Spiritually confident in themselves enough to get with a sista who is just as spiritually confident, hardworking, and smart.
My father PERSONIFIED that smart, savvy, confident, spiritual MALE ENERGY.
Like really does attract LIKE, when all is said and done.
And furthermore, Jenny “don’t vaccinate my kids McCarthy, being a single mother is no more or less as important as having BOTH PARENTS in the household raising a child they brought into this world TOGETHER.

Wow, this is quite the exhibit. How come we’re just hearing about this?
The Myth Of The Absent Black Father
By Tara Culp-Ressler January 16, 2014 at 4:53 pm
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently published new data on the role that American fathers play in parenting their children. Most of the CDC’s previous research on family life — which the agency explores as an important contributor to public health and child development — has focused exclusively on mothers. But the latest data finds that the stereotypical gender imbalance in this area doesn’t hold true, and dads are just as hands-on when it comes to raising their kids.
That includes African-American fathers.
In fact, in its coverage of the study, the Los Angeles Times noted that the results “defy stereotypes about black fatherhood” because the CDC found that black dads are more involved with their kids on a daily basis than dads from other racial groups:
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2014/01/16/3175831/myth-absent-black-father/
To this day, I don’t know of any BLACK man in my immediate circle of family, friends, or acquaintances who has abandoned their children.

The Big Lobotomy
How Republicans Made Congress Stupid
By Paul Glastris and Haley Sweetland Edwards
Last September, as they scrambled to decide on one final ultimatum before shutting down the federal government, Republican House leaders came up with what seemed like an odd demand: to strip their own staff of health care benefits.
At the time, staffers reacted to the news with a mixture of despair and disbelief. “It was like getting sucker-punched by your boss,” one aide told me. “Everyone was thinking, What’s the point? How is screwing us going to help you?”
The dubious logic behind the House Republicans’ demand can be traced back to a contested provision in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the gutting of which was the price the Republicans were demanding for agreeing to fund the government. The provision requires employees of the U.S. Congress, including members and their staffs, to buy insurance on the new health care exchanges, while still allowing them to receive subsidies from their employer. Over the course of more than a year, ideologues at several conservative think tanks, especially the Tea Party-friendly Heritage Foundation, which was pushing for the shutdown, managed to put an imaginative spin on the provision, convincing the conservative world that members and their staff were getting a sneaky, backroom deal, a “special exemption from Obamacare.”
In fact, had the Republicans’ desired language passed, congressional personnel would have become the only employees in America whose employer (in their case, the federal government) was explicitly forbidden from contributing to their health care—a blow that, in all likelihood, would have caused most of the best and brightest staffers, and perhaps some lawmakers, to simply hightail it for the door. Some quite conservative members even said as much. Representative Jim Sensenbrenner, in a candid moment later, called the move “political theater” that would do nothing more than catalyze a rapid “brain drain” in Congress.

William Tomasko: The New Grand Total: 14 Million People Signed Up To Get Covered Since October 1
We got a new Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollment report from the feds this week, and it marks a new milestone. Between the health insurance marketplaces, Medicaid, and CHIP, 14 million Americans signed up to get covered between October 1 and the end of April. Compared to the sign-up stats from before October 1, Medicaid/CHIP enrollment has increased by 6 million people since open enrollment began on October 1, including 1.1 million in April alone.
In states that expanded Medicaid, enrollment increased by more than 15 percent, and sign-ups still increased by 3.3 percent in non-expansion states. It’s important to remember that even though open enrollment ended for the health insurance marketplaces on March 31, people can still sign up for Medicaid and CHIP at any time. So that 6 million figure will go up as the year goes on.

So why are folks still whining about the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT being a disaster for America?

Remember who got us in to IRAQ
There was never any doubt, after the Bush Reich toppled the dictator that held Iraq together, that the nation was destined for long term, pent-up sectarian strife. The Maliki regime concentrated all power in the hands of the Shia faction, and it was only a matter of time before the Kurds and Sunnis rebelled. The Republican Party is doing what Republicans always do in a case like this. They are blaming Obama for what Bush did, and trying to get us back into the war. Don’t do it! Hands off Iraq!
This is what Maliki did with all the money and manpower we invested in training his army.

My favorite Chaka song. Bruce Hornsby wrote this and accompanied her on piano for the original recording. My husband and I always celebrate our anniversary with this song.
It’s wonderful.
“Here are my hands for you to HOLD here’s the part of me they have not SOLD.
I’ve wondered far. I’ve had my fill. I love you now, do you love me STILL.”
“Only you have seen, the hidden part of me. Call me fool-hearty if you will.

Good Morning, Everyone :)
Happy Father’s Day to all those men who are handling their business.
Word! Operative word being “handling their business.”
LOL Lawdy, MED on MHP Show discussing the 20 year anniversary of OJ trial.
Dyson: “DNA =DENYING NEGROES ANYTHING BEFORE OJ”
I’m seeing folks tweeting about OJ on Twitter. Ugh!
The media as usual covering stories that keep folks riled up, NOT ONE Sunday talk show has mentioned POTUS & FLOTUS’ trip to ND. And they wonder why he does an END-RUN around them
I feel the same way now that I did then..
Yeah, OJ had something to do with the murder
but, he WAS
NOT GUILTY
Once it had been proven that the LAPD tried to frame him, it was game over.
It was nothing that they hadn’t done umpteen times against Jamal and Luther.
But, Jamal and Luther didn’t have Johnnie Cochran who knew the entire book of the LAPD and used it against them.
Agreed, Rikyrah. I def think OJ was an accessory to the murder of Nicole, just like he was accessory in the sports celeb world.
THIS COMMENT RIGHT HERE:
“Mike Lazarus15 hours ago
“It’s pretty rare that you’ll encounter somebody who says the problem you’re trying to solve simply doesn’t exist,” Obama said. “When President Kennedy set us on a course to the moon, there were a number of people who made a serious case that it wouldn’t be worth it. But nobody ignored the science. I don’t remember anybody saying the moon wasn’t there or that it was made of cheese.”
I loved American Top 40. Casey Kasem gave us good music. RIP, Casey Kasem!
Casey Kasem, who entertained radio listeners for almost four decades as the host of countdown shows such as “American Top 40” and “Casey’s Top 40,” died early today, according to a Facebook post from his daughter Kerri Kasem.
Casey Kasem was 82 and had been hospitalized in Washington state for two weeks.
“Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken,” Kerri Kasem wrote. “Thank you for all your love, support and prayers. The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad.”
Me too, SG2. That’s when top 40 music was at it’s very best.
Casey did his homewowrk, and I could tell he thoroughly enjoyed the mix and diverse genres of music and he gave us a quick history of the artist.
Prayers to the family, and enjoy your stay in “Top 40” heaven, Mr .Kasem.
Beautiful, Ametia
RIP. Mr. Kasem.
Good Morning, Everyone :)
