Jason Whitlock Needs A Friend (A Clue, A Seat, And Jesus Too, But Mostly Just A Friend)

    Damon Young, 6/2/17

    ……………………..

I know, from pieces I’ve read about Whitlock, pieces I’ve read by
Whitlock, and conversations I’ve had with people who know him, that he desperately wants to be considered a thought leader. Someone who cultivates, incubates, and creates the types of pieces and opinions and words and ideas that stand the test of time. He wants to be taken seriously.

And the terribly stupid things he says and does are a mark of a man who recognizes those goals are far out of his reach, but still attempts to grasp for relevance, like a pit bull chasing behind a fucking Ferrari.
Extending the car metaphor, he’s an 1998 Altima who wishes to be an
Aston Martin. And knows he’s not and will never be an Aston Martin. But puts Aston rims on his tires and an Aston emblem on his bumper, hoping someone maybe might think he’s one and ask him to race.

But not only is he not taken seriously, he’s become such an easy
punchline and punching bag that he’s virtually radioactive. As far as
Black sportswriters/reporters go, he’s probably one of the three or four most recognizable names. Yet literally zero of his peers —
well, zero of his peers who aren’t currently employed by Fox — would dare cosign anything he says. Just being associated with a Whitlock tweet is like having digital mono.

    Athletes collectively hate him.
And not the type of “hate” that’s comprised of the garden variety
skepticism some athletes have towards the media. But actual “if I see that nigga in the street, I’ll slap the shit out of him”
    hate.
Black Twitter — and by “Black Twitter” I mean “literally every
Black person on Twitter with any sort of relevance and working brain
cells” — despises him. His “Black people with brains” approval rating is at zero. This is a friendless nigga. Even OJ had Al Cowlings. Whitlock has…hats.

From what I’ve seen, even an old Altima is too generous a description…He’s more like a broken down Yugo or Lincah Gama..

And somehow, after these governors, mayors etc. get ahead independent of the federal government, and make impressive gains, he and his cohorts will find a way to take credit for the positive gains made in spite of him and his spiteful, greedy, ignorant decimation of protections..

    • eliihass says:

I wish people would simply refer to him as “Mr.”…

He’s not only unworthy of the other title…he never earned it…and certainly hasn’t lived up to it..

But most importantly, it’s the quickest way to drive him crazy…deny him the title…end live coverage of his grand preening addresses/press statements…instead, play snippets of recorded bits – if there’s anything of interest…and ignore altogether if just another distract and deflect, bait and switch and lie and obfuscate, sham..

The groveling media – if they can help themselves, should start boycotting these sham events…and instead send one or two representatives in some form of rotation…to take notes..

Guaranteed to drive him completely nuts..

But one gets the sense that the media is actually enjoying this insanity…and isn’t eager at all for it to end..

You almost get this sense that every time there’s a hot lead that’s closing in, they immediately begin to pull back…it’s like they don’t want this thing to come to a head..

They just end up poo-pooing and walking all over and looking to weaken the evidence they themselves just reported courtesy of a sleuth colleague..

Donald Trump’s unhealthy preoccupation with being laughed at
    06/02/17 11:33 AM—UPDATED 06/02/17 12:09 PM
    By Steve Benen

When Donald Trump spoke yesterday about his decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, he seemed to ad-lib one of his broader concerns:

“At what point does America get demeaned? At what point do they start laughing at us as a country? … We don’t want other leaders and other countries laughing at us anymore, and they won’t be. They won’t be.”

It’s hard to overstate the degree to which Trump obsesses over this point. In his mind, being laughed at appears to be the single worst reaction a person or a country can experience, and so he seems to evaluate decisions based less on merit and more on whether they’ll generate laughter from others.

A month ago, for example, Trump sat down with Time magazine, which asked about his decision to launch a strike on Assad forces in Syria, despite having promised to do the opposite before the election. “I think we have to be a strong nation,” he replied. “I think we were being laughed at by the world. They’re not laughing anymore.”

There’s no real-world reason to believe anyone was laughing at the United States over its reluctance to attack multiple sides in Syria’s civil war, just as there’s no evidence of laughter being curtailed in the wake of Trump’s strike. But it’s becoming increasingly obvious that it’s the lens through which this president sees the world: Trump is paranoid about ridicule that doesn’t exist, and he makes decisions based on his desire to stifle laughter that only he can hear.

This is a longstanding point of concern for him. In the Reagan era, Trump insisted that “bad guys” were “laughing at” the United States. In 2011, The Atlantic ran a piece noting Trump making the same argument about international laughter, at Americans’ expense, during the Clinton, Bush, and Obama eras.

“Everyone is always pointing and laughing at America, in Trump’s view,” The Atlantic piece noted. “A psychologist might have a field day with this.”

    It’s only a matter of time now…

And he’ll have plenty of time on his hands …and hopefully, haunted and kept awake for a long time, by whatever bit of conscience he ever had…or the consequent shame and anger over completely selling his already dubious soul to Satan – and having only skid marks and knife stab wounds on his back from being thrown under the bus and being stabbed again and again, to show for it…

His self-esteem like his ho-hum reputation, is in complete tatters…And for what..?

Maybe like Scott McClellan he’ll ultimately have an awakening …

Now Trump Will Take Away Your Contraception
    by Martin Longman
    June 2, 2017 12:03 PM

A lot of women I talk to are concerned about Donald Trump and his connections to the Russians, but express concern that Vice President Pence would be an even worse president for them because he seems to come straight out of the cast for The Handmaid’s Tale. In no way do I want to diminish or dismiss the validity of their point of view, but I want to highlight that Trump seems to be nearly as obsessed as Pence with the fecundity of the fairer sex.

As proof, let’s look at what Obamacare has done for American women who want to control their reproduction:

The architects of the Affordable Care Act intended to broadly expand access to contraception by making it a regular benefit of health insurance, and the Obama administration’s goal was to guarantee birth control for as many women as possible. More than 55 million women have birth control coverage without out-of-pocket costs, according to a study commissioned by the Obama administration and cited in the draft rule.

By spring 2014, two-thirds of women using birth control pills and nearly 75 percent of women using the contraceptive ring were no longer paying out-of-pocket costs. In 2013 alone, the mandate had saved women $1.4 billion on birth control pills, according to the National Women’s Law Center.

    ……………

So, here’s what Trump is going to do:

The Trump administration has drafted a sweeping revision of the government’s contraception coverage mandate that could deny birth control benefits to hundreds of thousands of women who now receive them at no cost under the Affordable Care Act.

The new rule, which could go into effect as soon as it is published in the Federal Register, greatly expands the number of employers and insurers that could qualify for exemptions from the mandate by claiming a moral or religious objection, including for-profit, publicly traded corporations. A 34,000-word explanation of the intended policy change is blunt about its likely impact on women: “These interim final rules will result in some enrollees in plans of exempt entities not receiving coverage or payments for contraceptive services.”

He alone is to blame for prostrating himself before the treasonous buffoon to be ‘used’..

‘Tarnish’ the military…? I think Flynn has already set the low, low bar for that..

There aren’t any justifications…and there certainly isn’t enough money, desperate craving for power, title and perks in the world to impel a person of honor and integrity to align themselves with, or to work for and with brazenly corrupt and treasonous, hostile foreign entity owned alt-right folks..

And worse, to actively provide cover for them and their dubious activities…even when and if he has to lie or bend the truth..

At this point, the whole lot of these enablers are not only merely complicit, they’re actively and fully colluding …

No way a military general touted as smart…and one who’s written a book that’s ironically titled ‘deriliction of duty’, and is all about how the military failed to properly and truthfully advise/counsel the president…and the consequent disastrous outcome…no way this person isn’t aware of what’s going on…And yet with each passing day, he and Gary Cohn and Sean Spicer and the lot of them, trip all over their tongues trying to spin and cover ..

Bilderberg 2017: secret meeting of global leaders could prove a problem for Trump
The annual gathering of government and industry elites will include a ‘progress report’ on the Trump administration. Will it get a passing grade?
    Charlie Skelton in Chantilly, Virginia
    Thursday 1 June 2017 03.00 EDT

The storm around Donald Trump is about to shift a few miles west of the White House, to a conference centre in Chantilly, Virginia, where the embattled president will be getting his end-of-term grades from the people whose opinion really matters: Bilderberg.

The secretive three-day summit of the political and economic elite kicks off on Thursday in heavily guarded seclusion at the Westfields Marriott, a luxury hotel a short distance from the Oval Office. The hotel was already on lockdown on Wednesday, and an army of landscapers have been busy planting fir trees around the perimeter, to protect coy billionaires and bashful bank bosses from any prying lenses.

Perched ominously at the top of the conference agenda this year are these words: “The Trump administration: a progress report.” Is the president going to be put in detention for tweeting in class? Held back a year? Or told to empty his locker and leave? If ever there’s a place where a president could hear the words “you’re fired!”, it’s Bilderberg.
