The music to O Come All Ye Faithful was composed by fellow Englishman John Reading in the early 1700s. The tune was first published in a collection known as “Cantus Diversi” in 1751. In 1841 Rev. Frederick Oakley is reputed to have worked on the familiar translation of O Come All Ye Faithful which replaced the older Latin lyrics “Adeste Fideles”.

Secret Service Responds To Suburban Mom’s Exasperated ‘Threat’ On Obama

A woman from the Chicago suburbs was questioned by the Secret Service Tuesday after an exasperating ordeal with the Passport Agency got her carried away.
“It’s not like I’m gonna kill the f***ing president,” said Sue Velezquez, 52-year-old mother of three, according to NBC Chicago, as she begged on the phone for her daughter’s certificate of citizenship to be returned in time for the girl’s wedding.
Velezquez and her family are all U.S. citizens, but one of the children was born during a family trip to Mexico. This has led to complications surrounding the daughter’s passport, which have mired Velezquez in a 19-month ordeal of paperwork and bureaucracy, the Naperville Sun reports.
That rant was enough, though, to attract some serious attention. The State Department worker she was on the phone with told a superior about the conversation, and the superior apparently reported it to the Secret Service.
The Service apparently had mixed success in its attempts to intimidate Velezquez:
A man who identified himself as a Secret Service agent called Velezquez Tuesday morning on her telephone, informing her he was standing outside her home on Palace Street in Aurora.
“I said to him, ‘Well, then you’re stupid, because I don’t live there. I live in Naperville. I’ve never in my life lived in Aurora.'”

“When (the agents) asked for my driver’s license, my hands were literally shaking. And then they wanted me to sign a medical release, and I said, ‘You can kiss my (expletive.)'”
She should learn to keep that little pie hole shut.
Her remarks alone speaks volumes about her feelings towards the POTUS. And what has he ever done to this woman? Why even mention the president? Another misinformed fool, ready to blame everything on the POTUS.
James Meeks: White Women Shouldn’t Get Affirmative Action From City

State Senator James Meeks, a reverend at a South Side church and a candidate for mayor of Chicago, was trying to talk about his education policy yesterday.
Instead, during a forum on WVON radio, he wound up making another round of controversial comments about race. (Scroll down to watch.)
Meeks was talking about the city’s programs designed to benefit minority- and women-owned enterprises, which mandate that a certain share of city contracts go to such businesses.
“I think that the word ‘minority,’ from our standpoint, should mean African-American,” Meeks said, as reported by FOX Chicago. “I don’t think women, Asians and Hispanics should be able to use that title. That’s why our numbers cannot improve, because we use women, Asians and Hispanics, who are not people of color, who are not people who have been discriminated against.”
Later, when asked to clarify, he said that the City Hall programs should only stop their set-asides for “white women.”
This is not the first time Meeks has raised a stir with some racially motivated remarks. A fiery sermon he gave at his Salem Baptist Church several years ago likened Mayor Daley to a “slave master” and called some black elected officials “house n*****s” who “are gonna fight you to protect that white man.”
Ya know he’s half right about white women benefiting from affirmative action. The fact is they have benefitted more from it than any other ethnic group.

More Bad News for Ex-Mayor & Ex-Lawyer Kwame Kilpatrick of Detroit: He’s Now a RICO DefendantPosted Dec 15, 2010 7:04 PM CST

In the latest blow to a once-powerful political figure, former Detroit mayor and former lawyer Kwame Kilpatrick, who is already serving time for probation violation in an unrelated obstruction case, is now facing new prosecution.
He has now been charged, along with four other defendants including his father and two former high-level city officials, in a federal bid-rigging case allegedly involving tens of millions of dollars.
Kilpatrick is accused, among other alleged misconduct, of coercing kickbacks in exchange for awards of government work. The alleged misconduct dates back a decade, even before he was elected mayor in 2001, to his days as a state representative, reports the Detroit News.
The case, which resulted from a six-year investigation, includes charges made under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
