Michael Dunn Trial – Day 2

michael-dunn-trial-1-020614Opening statements began Thursday in the trial of Michael Dunn accused of firing 8 bullets into an SUV filled with teenagers and killing 17 year old Jordan Davis over loud music.

Michael Dunn claimed he heard threats over very loud music and he feared for his life. No weapon was found.

CFNews13 JACKSONVILLE — Prosecutors said witnesses will testify that a Brevard County man on trial in Jacksonville intended to kill an unarmed teenager outside a convenience store after an argument over loud music.

Michael Dunn’s first-degree murder trial got underway Thursday, one day after lawyers selected a panel of 12 jurors and four alternates.

The 47-year-old software developer from Satellite Beach claims he shot 17-year-old Jordan Davis in November 2012 because he felt threatened and thought the teen had a gun.

    Hello,
Sorry, that I joined you guys this late, but I had to prepare myself mentally to go through this again, especially since it happened in Florida. Btw, you can look at Dunn and see racist all in his face and he is a die-hard racist at that.

  2. Ametia says:

Thanks for the post and commentary. I’ll have to read and watch the videos to get caught up on everything.

  3. Liza says:

Here’s something interesting. This is the website for the software system, Spirit POS, that is marketed by Michael Dunn’s software company Dunn & Dunn.

  4. Jury has been excused. Court is in recess until 9am tomorrow morning.

  5. Dunn could have minded his own damn business instead of trying to be music police. He should’ve shut up and left the scene.

  6. Next witness up Christopher LeBlanc. He’s the brother of Alyssa Leblanc.

  7. Court is back in session..

  8. Court is in recess..

  9. The kids weren’t doing anything to Michael Dunn. Loud music is not a threat. They had every right to stand THEIR ground against Michael Dunn.

  10. Just listen to this fool. He is bringing up dumpsters etc. Like they threw away a gun. He’s hoping racists are on jury & will buy his bs.

    • Liza says:

The phantom gun that was thrown into the phantom dumpster. That’s supposed to help Dunn because he wouldn’t lie to save his sorry a$$. I hate these child killers and the scumbags who represent them.

      • I’m so there with you. He’s playing hard to possible racist people being on the jury and hoping for an outcome like the past child killer. Not going to happen!

  11. racerrodig says:

Yahtc….to your 1:09 post. I have the same pistol but not nickle plated. It is a PT 92 Taurus, made in Brazil. It is a clone to a P92 Beretta.

It is advertised to hold 15 rounds in the magazine and you can add1 in the chamber for 16 rounds. However, it will actually hold 16 in the magazine for 16 + 1.

I believe I read there are 6 rounds in the magazine remaining and I’ll have to recheck this but I believe he fired 8 shots. One report says he fired 10 and one 8 to 10. I also read there are 8 rounds remaining in the mag, but he could have added any amount after the murder.

  12. Alyssa Leblanc’s 9/11 call being played.

  13. Next witness up Alyssa Leblanc. She’s a kindergarten teacher. Alyssa Leblanc was in the parking lot next to the gas station.

  14. Tommy Stornes is excused.

  15. These poor kids went through a horrific experience. My heart goes out to them.

  16. Young kids say “homeboy” to someone they hang out with/ associate with.

  17. I’m laughing at the defense. They have NOTHING but bash a kid for calling Jordan Davis his “homeboy”.

  18. So he’s going to put Tommy Storns on trial? Michael Dunn murdered a kid in cold blood. Tommy Storns isn’t on trial, ass clown!

  19. What does smoking cigarettes have anything to do with what happened to Jordan Davis?

  20. Here comes this bastard again…

  21. John Guy to Tommy Stornes: “When you called Jordan Davis’s name, did he respond” “No, sir.”.

  22. Tommy Storns: He never saw or heard Jordan Davis threaten Michael Dunn. He never saw Jordan Davis with a weapon in his hand

  23. Next witness up Tommy Storns. He was the driver of the SUV.

  24. Court is back in session.

  25. Yahtc says:

  26. Court is in recess for 15 minutes

  27. What’s SHOCKING is a grown ass man firing 8 shots into a car full of teen boys killing one of them over loud music.

  28. God, I hate this defense attorney. Just scum of the earth.

  29. They were boys out looking for girls and wanting to have a good time. Stopped at the store to buy gum so they’d have fresh breath.

  30. Next witness up is Leland Brunson. 18 years old, lives with mother. He was best friends with Jordan Davis.

  31. Court is back in session

  32. Court is in recess for one hour.

  33. Tevin Thompson is excused.

  34. Defense: What time DO YOU recall? Arrogant POS!

  35. Tell it, son. Take your time and don’t let this creep confuse you.

  36. IF the music was so loud how the fuck did Michael Dunn hear a threat? That dog don’t hunt, ass clown!

    • racerrodig says:

Exactly……and if they did have a stick, er shotgun, the instant he fired at them, they’d have blown him away…..beings it a shotgun at 5 feet and all.

2 Major issues that cannot be answered……How did you hear what he said and why didn’t they fire back.

  37. Jordan Davis didn’t get out of the car, mofo. The only person threatened anyone was Michael Dunn.

  38. Tevin Thompson: He could hear Jordan Davis gasping for air after he was shot.

  39. Just look at Dunn’s old ugly smug face.

  40. Michael Dunn hit Jordan Davis with the first 3 shots.

    • Liza says:

Must be why it’s murder one. He aimed?

      • He fired 3shots. Paused a bit. Fired more rounds.

      • Liza says:

Dear God. It is amazing that he only killed one person.

      • Liza says:

That is a hell of a lot of rage. Then he makes up the story about the imaginary gun.

Shortly after this happened, I read that he went back to Satellite Beach after spending the night in St. Augustine. He called a “friend” who met with him before he turned himself in. I can’t remember what the guy’s credentials were, but I remember thinking at the time that this is when they cooked up a story for the cops that they thought would get him off based on Florida’s SYG law.

      • Liza says:

I was looking for old articles that described Dunn’s actions in Satellite Beach and it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack at this point. But it is really important. His girlfriend said that he did not tell her about a gun. People are asking why he didn’t report the incident to the police if someone pointed a gun and threatened him.

We know there was no gun and until Dunn got back to Satellite Beach and consulted with at least one associate, there was not even a story about a gun. Dunn owned a software business, knew some people, and after he sobered up he knew he was in a lot of trouble.
So they came up with a SYG story, the imaginary gun that is conspicuously absent from everything Dunn said and did prior to turning himself in.

He is hoping for racists among the white jurists, that’s all it could be, because every single fact in this case supports a murder conviction.

    • racerrodig says:

He held the gun with two (2) count ’em 2 hands which is an offensive posture.

  41. Tevin Thompson: Dunn: “turn the music down. I can’t hear myself think.”

  42. Ametia says:

11 white jurors? Are there NO BLACKS in FLORIDA?

    • Liza says:

Ametia, good question. When I lived in Jacksonville (50s and 60s), there were a lot of black people. It turns out that the black population is 29.9 percent of Duval County. Blacks are 16.6 percent of the population of Florida as a whole. So, there is a concentration in Duval County which would lead one to think there should be more black folks on this jury. As I said yesterday, why isn’t there a black MAN or two on the jury?

  43. Ametia says:

Loved racer’s recap of defense’s opening statement.

    • Liza says:

I know, that was so funny. Defending the guilty is a dirty job but some scumbag always steps up.

    • racerrodig says:

Thank You I say humbly…..as I’ve said before, these clowns need to be slapped and even though I like to put a comical spin on it…..it’s the reality.

I have elected to refrain from any song rewrites until I see how the prosecution does.
