Shalamar (/ˈʃæləmɑːr/) is an American R&B and soul music vocal group, active in the mid-1970s and throughout the 1980s, that was originally a disco–driven vehicle created by Soul Train booking agent Dick Griffey and show creator and producer Don Cornelius.[1][2] They went on to be an influential dance trio, masterminded by Cornelius.[3] As noted in the British Hit Singles & Albums, they were regarded as fashion icons and trendsetters, and helped to introduce “body-popping” to the United Kingdom.[3] Their collective name, “Shalamar”, was picked by Griffey.
Their first hit was Uptown Festival (1977), released on Soul Train Records. Its success inspired Griffey and Don Cornelius to replace session singers with popular Soul Train dancers Jody Watley and Jeffrey Daniel, to join original Shalamar lead singer Gary Mumford. Gerald Brown took over the spot vacated by Mumford for the group’s second album, Disco Gardens (1978), which featured the hit “Take That To The Bank“. After conflicts over lack of payment from Dick Griffey and Solar Records, Brown left the group.[5] Howard Hewett replaced Brown in 1979.[2] The group was joined up with producer Leon Sylvers III in 1979, signed with Griffey’s SOLAR Records, and scored a US million seller with “The Second Time Around” (1979).
This is why he was mocking the CIA….trying to throw folks off…

Wow.
I’m reading this and I’m not really surprised by any of it. Trump’s seething hatred for President Obama factored heavily into his presidential ambitions.
What is insane is that this man really is going to be the president. I don’t know for how long, but he is apparently going to be inaugurated.
Well, this will get worse.
PBO Farewell address thread I up!
See, this is why you don’t PHUCK with The Spooks.
They are not playing with you🙅🙅🙅
#Treason #Espionage
How can he be inaugurated? Are we a Nation of Laws or not? But watch whiteness work.
I am not ready to say goodbye to the President😢😢😢😢😢
I am not ready either.
I will always be grateful that we were blessed with such an outstanding President and such a deeply caring, kind hearted First Lady.

What the heck is going on with this FOX-erizing of MSNBC and NBC..?
I simply could not take even 5 minutes of Greta Van Susteren…

THE UNBEARBLE MALE WHITENESS
Did you have time to read the excerpts from New York Mag…
I realize it’s a really long read, but it’s instructive..
He’s just as petty and vindictive and materialiastic and greedy and just as wannabe as his father-in-law…
What’s that they say about how we end up marrying men just like our fathers..
I read all the of the excerpts, eliihaas.
CHIILING…We live in precariously dangerous times with the PLUTOCRACY, KLEPTOCRACY, HYPOCRACY, running amok I our country.
Democrats better up their game…Just not impressed with what I’ve witnessed so far..
This little, thin-skinned, racist rat must not be allow through..and only Al Franken seems to have come stripped of any of that fake ‘collegial camaraderie’ that only seems to favor the republicans, and ready to do battle …
So unbelievable watching this hearing…
Of all the brilliant legal minds in this country, impossible to believe that this marginally literate, barely can read, racist bumpkin is what’s on offer…
LOL…
HarperCollins said that it will stop selling a book by Monica Crowley that an investigation by CNN’s KFile found to have more than 50 instances of plagiarism.
The conservative author and television personality was picked by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council.
“The book, which has reached the end of its natural sales cycle, will no longer be offered for purchase until such time as the author has the opportunity to source and revise the material,” according the statement from HarperCollins.
Already undeservedly propelled her to professional heights she never earned or deserved…squeezed that book for what it was worth..
Now they need to reassess her so-called Ph.D…revisit whatever dissertation was submitted..
People who lack integrity especially in academia…anyone who has have the cojones to lift portions of original writings by others, and brazenly and arrogantly pass off and publish stolen material as theirs…should not be rewarded in any way..
Hi, eliihass. Yep, the privilege and luxury of being white afforded her the recognition and wealth.
MERITS, NOT SO MUCH!
Hey Ametia, more like mediocrity resorting to theft..
There’s already all sorts of blackmail, poisoning etc. on tap…
It’s Vlad’s specialty and the shallow, easily flattered, desperate to be liked buffoon, is the perfect rat for Vlad’s bait..
Jeff Sessions is No Champion of Civil Rights
by Martin Longman
January 10, 2017 11:35 AM
The Ku Klux Klan went broke and disbanded during World War Two. James Colescott, their Imperial Wizard at the time, blamed FDR (“the nigger lover”) and Henry Morgenthau, Jr. (“that Jew”) for orchestrating his organization’s demise. In truth, though, it was the Internal Revenue Service that came calling with a bill for $685,305 in unpaid taxes.
I want you to know that Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III had nothing to do with this. He wasn’t even born until two years after the second iteration of the Klan closed up shop.
When it was announced that Sessions would be the nominee to serve as Attorney General, the right-wing alt-right wingnut media was ready with their talking points, which were heavy on the idea that Sessions is the farthest thing from a Klansman that you ever saw and that he’s actually responsible for singlehandedly crushing the Klan to death. Even Erick Erickson got into the game, informing us that “The media wants you to think Jeff Sessions is some sort of Alabamian unrepentant racist, but in fact Jeff Sessions has a long history of fighting segregation in Alabama, seeking the death penalty for KKK members, and marching with civil rights leaders to commemorate and honor the 50th anniversary of the march at Selma.”
On that whole seeking the death penalty for KKK members thing, I’m having just a wee bit of trouble verifying that. You see, it’s a reference to the conviction and ultimate execution of Henry Francis Hays. On March 21st, 1981, Hays and two coconspirators kidnapped Michael Donald off a Mobile, Alabama street and lynched him. The United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama at the time was Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, which must have been a great comfort to Michael’s mother, Beulah Mae Donald.
At first, the investigation went in a very Alabama kind of way:
The whole junkie thing didn’t really fly because junkies aren’t known for hanging black people up in trees down the street from their mother’s house, and Michael didn’t use drugs. So, the District Attorney for Alabama asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation for some help. That investigation “produced no useful evidence, however, and it seemed that the killers would go unpunished.”
We’re quite a way down the road here and we still have not seen an appearance by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. We will hear now from his assistant:
There are two things I want you to take away from that blockquote above. First, the third iteration of the Ku Klux Klan was ruined by Beulah Mae Donald’s civil case which resulted in a $7 million judgment in her favor. She wound up owning the KKK’s Tuscaloosa headquarters. And an all-white jury gave it to her, too, which she didn’t expect.
……………..
Second, where have we heard that name “Thomas Figures” before?
Kushner going to the White House as an ‘ unpaid advisor’.
…………………
This is ridiculous.
Utterly ridiculous.
I keep on imagining President Obama trying to install Craig Robinson or his sister’s husband into a position of power in his White House.
sorry…I had to stop because I was doubled over with laughter at the preposterousness of it all.
And, the phucking bullshyt of him not taking a salary?
Don’t get me started on that obvious corruption.
HYPOCRACY, DOUBLE STANDARDS, CORRUPTION, GREED, POWER-HUNGRY, DECEPTIVE WHITE PRIVILEGED MEN
Start by imagining then President-elect Obama…and even now President Obama, making moves like threatening to ‘shake’ up Intelligence institutions like the CIA, FBI etc…the public outcry, pushback, outrage and fear-mongering would have been out of this world…
There would have been serious moves sanctioned by the invisible powers, to do away with him – folks, including many in the media, who would have been so sure he was colluding with the ‘Arabs’ to not only leave America vulnerable, but to completely destroy us..
Then imagine President Obama firing the old guy – an institution himself- who has been the presidential inaugural parade announcer since 1957…and replacing him with some hack supporter who has done a few announcing gigs on the side…
There would have been outrage for days and folks like Tom Brokaw would have been on every news show not just giving the historical relevance, but I insisting that this abomination was grounds for impeachment even before the swearing-in …
It’s safe to say that if this pattern keeps on, that most if not all of the current White House residential staff – kitchen, butlers, etc. – may all be out of work too..

Sessions failed to disclose oil interests as required, ethics experts say
“The fact that his oil is in a federal wildlife refuge means he should not be involved in DOJ policies concerning drilling or environmental issues” involving federal reserves, Potter said. “Clearly he should have disclosed the asset.”
As attorney general, Sessions would have a role in determining policy for the department’s environment and natural resources division, which has more than 400 lawyers responsible for enforcing pollution and other laws.
As a member of the Judiciary Committee, Sessions has been critical of past nominees who submitted what he said was incomplete information. In 2010, he spearheaded a letter to the committee’s then-chairman, Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.), arguing that an appeals court nominee, Goodwin Liu, was not providing senators with enough information about past articles he had written.
“At best, this nominee’s extraordinary disregard for the Committee’s constitutional role demonstrates incompetence; at worst, it creates the impression that he knowingly attempted to hide his most controversial work from the Committee,” the letter read.
Alabama records show that the senator leased “undivided mineral interests” to Chief Capital, a Texas firm, in 2015. The interests described in state records are located in Choctaw County and appear from state topographical maps to be located in the Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge

Quick Takes: Rushing Hearings on Trump Nominees
by Nancy LeTourneau
January 9, 2017 5:02 PM
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is trying to rush through hearings on Trump’s nominees before they’ve completed background checks and ethics clearances. As Norm Eisen tweeted yesterday, this is simply another example of his hypocrisy.
In case that is difficult to read, the image is of a letter McConnell sent to Reid in 2009 enumerating the things that needed to be completed before hearings were scheduled on Obama’s nominees – including background checks and ethics clearances. McConnell writes:
In consultation with our Ranking Members, we affirm our commitment to conduct the appropriate review of these nominations, consistent with the long standing and best practices of committees, regardless of which political party is in the majority.
* After hearing from Democrats about the need to slow down the process, yesterday McConnell suggested that he would move forward with the rushed hearings and that Democrats need to “grow up.” That elicited some A+ trolling from Schumer on twitter today.

Nepotism vs. Harmless Lies
by Martin Longman
January 9, 2017 5:25 PM
If you go to the New York Times today, you can learn that the president-elect will make his son-in-law a chief adviser despite nepotism laws that should preclude him from doing so, but not to worry because “the Trump team will muscle through — as it usually does.” You can also learn that there will be many hearings for Trump’s un-vetted, unqualified cabinet nominations, but the Democrats’ “complaints about the process may not resonate with the broader public, though they will surely continue.”
Overall, they devote about a paragraph each to discussing these developments, but surely you’re more interested in this extensive treatment:

Good Morning, Rikyrah & Everyone.
