Additional Background on the African American Veterans Monument WNY”

The Buffalo community has been talking about creating the first monument that honors all African American Veterans, and soon, this will become a reality. African American Veterans Monument WNY (AAVM) will be located at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park.

The design of AAVM will be a matrix that will serve as a timeline and a map of longitudinal coordinates. Twelve black concrete pillars standing at ten feet tall and three feet wide will be placed in a chronological sequence to represent the dates that each of our country’s 12 military conflicts occurred.

According to Warren Galloway, chair of the African American Veterans Committee and Veterans of the U.S. Air Force, folks have been talking about this project for years.

“The Erie County Chapter of the Links started with an exhibit that has recorded the names of deceased African American Veterans that lived in Western New York. From that project, the idea for a Monument was birthed and our committee was formed under the leadership of Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes,” he said.

” ‘Crowns’ is a joyous triumph, celebrating African-American music, culture”

Rap, gospel, blues, and soul — and that’s just in the first 10 minutes.

Regina Taylor’s musical “Crowns” is an ode to African-American music and culture, and under the direction of the playwright, the McCarter’s production is a joyous triumph. Boisterous, bold and ebullient, the show invites its audience to share the journey of its central character from understanding to appreciating to celebrating black history and culture.

“Crowns” returns to the McCarter where it premiered in 2002, slightly updated from its previous version.

  3. Resign @SpeakerRyan. DO IT TODAY! If you’re too cowardly to protect children from gun violence then you have no business in our government. #MarchForOurLives

  4. I love these kids. Don’t fk with them and think you’re going to get away with it. Not having it. They’re absolutely fierce!

    This is strategic planning…

First is the townhall in every congressional district on 4/7
Than another school walkout on 4/20
In a few months marches on every state capital
Maybe another March right before midterms on Washington
And starting clubs for poltical activism at schools and communities across

Here is one poet’s response last September upon learning that DACA had been rescinded by Trump’s executive order:
    Excerpt from page:

    Alan Pelaez Lopez:

“You are strong. This is neither the end nor the beginning. Yes, DACA has changed our lives, but it is also a crumb our community has received. We must know that when we defend DACA we must not defend it because ‘DREAMers’ deserve to be here, but because slave economies must end. Undocumented immigrants are used as slave labor. We were forced to migrate out of our homes. Violence against indigenous people has forced them to move out. Undocumented immigrants are indigenous, black, queer, trans, & resilient. Being undocumented didn’t just happen. We come from a place of scarcity and incredible possibility. This is not the end nor the beginning. Undocumented eloteros, domestic workers, graphic designers, writers, and construction workers have started their own businesses without DACA. We should look at them for leadership. Yes, let’s fight for DACA, & let’s fight harder for all of our community members who were never seen as valuable to benefit from the program. Let’s fight for my undocumented black 19 yr old kin in Atlanta who doesn’t have a birth certificate and can never apply for a status change. Let’s fight for my mother who has been in this country for 20+ years; let’s fight for my femmetor, who has been in this country for 30+ years and arrived at the age of 4 and does not have DACA; let’s fight for my colleague who has a 2yr old daughter whose life will change if she loses DACA. Let’s fight for each other, not just the ‘DREAMer’

Alan Pelaez Lopez wrote this important article in April 2017:
“10 Affirmations to Help Undocumented Immigrants Turn Panic into Resistance”

“I have PTSD, but PTSD isn’t rare. See, I come from a community of predominantly Black and Indigenous undocumented immigrants from all over the world, and PTSD is something that a lot of us struggle with.

“As (un)documented immigrants, we have been forced to migrate out of our homes.

“Some of us migrate because international corporations came to our villages, built factories, polluted our water, destroyed our ecosystem, and, therefore, eradicated our access to healthy foods and safe working conditions.

“Others come searching for refuge (from war, military invasion, and so on). Some arrive to ask for political asylum (for anti-LGBTQIA+ violence in their countries, murders against women, and so on). Others come because they were trafficked, and some come without the intention of staying.

“My point is being undocumented isn’t something that just happens.

“Undocumentedness is a painful experience rooted in oppressive powers that make living conditions so atrocious in one’s home country that those who are most affected have to flee – if they don’t die – and find a life elsewhere.

“Once we do migrate – most undocumented people migrate “legally,” and then lose status – life becomes even harder.

“Because we aren’t protected under the law, most of us are seen as cheap labor. Factories, farms, manufacturers, homeowners, restaurants, businesses, and so on want our labor, but only if we agree to be overworked, underpaid, and go uninsured.

“The immigration system isn’t broken. The immigration system created the “illegal alien,” because the US (as an empire) depends on our labor in order to continue to grow as a capitalist and modern society.”

Joseph diGenova has decided that he will not join the Trump legal team.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Trump is standing on really shaky legal ground if lawyers are running away from representing him.

“The Public Pulse: Ill-treatment of DACA recipients”

“To continue to allow the Republican-controlled government to devastate the lives of DACA recipients and their families — our neighbors and fellow community members – is a betrayal of the values that we claim to hold most dear as a country.

“The DACA recipients that I have had the privilege to know and work with are, to a fault, exemplary community members. To allow the continued ill-treatment of our fellow neighbors in this way, without speaking out and acting against it, is deeply destructive and crippling to the soul of our nation, our state and our city.”

Stormy’s previous lawyer and Cohen appear to be in cahoots ( I only say appear, because there aren’t enough coincidences in the Western World to convince me otherwise)

I thought, since Cohen came up with the lie that HE PAID Stormy that it would wind up with him being disbarred. THEN, this revelation came.
Yeah, this muthphucka’s gonna lose his law license cause he was messing with Dolt45.
