Thanks, Sen. Harris. But we’re going to need a whole lot more than politicians getting sick over these murders. Without the video, who was even paying attention?

I want to hear from presumptive nominee Joe Biden. If he wants to show me he is not the same guy who authored the 1994 Crime Bill, then now is his chance. I want to hear that the DOJ Civil Rights Division will be rebuilt with the best legal minds in the country and these hate crimes will be prosecuted and white supremacist murderers will go to jail.

Speak up, Joe. A lot of folks are waiting.

Just got notification from a friend that I’ve known since freshman year of high school:
Her 11 year old daughter has COVID-19.
My friend, who is immunocompromised- is freaking out.
They poo-pooed her , not willing to test, until they saw the COVID-19 TOES- that was the only sign.

It’s going to be a long next 3 weeks for them :(

  6. Liza says:

Agreed. How many more. Those white supremacists were hunting. They did this for sport, a thrill kill they thought they could get away with, making up a cock and bull about a burglary.

And where are the Democrats on these never ending violations of human rights? Where is Joe Biden? The DOJ is decimated, how are they going to prosecute this as a hate crime? This should be a MAJOR issue.

A Georgia man was chased, shot and killed while jogging more than two months ago, and his family is calling for justice.

Ahmaud Arbery, 25, was jogging in a Brunswick neighborhood on February 23 when a man and his son chased him down, telling police later that they thought he looked like the suspect in a series of recent break-ins in the area.

Wanda Cooper, Arbery’s mother, told CNN Sunday that when police notified her of her son’s death, she was told her son was involved in a burglary and that there was a confrontation between her son and the homeowner and a struggle over a gun.

“He was not armed,” Cooper said. She said she never worried about him jogging because he wasn’t bothering anyone.

Attorney Lee Merritt, who is representing the family, told CNN Sunday “the decision to rely on the citizen’s arrest statute is really a recent invention, prior to that they just simply said it was self defense.” Merritt says now the men are trying to use the law to say they were trying to stop a crime.

“According to that law, you actually have to be observing the crime or be in the immediate knowledge of the crime,” Merritt said. “The only thing they have ever said is … that Ahmaud stopped by a house that was under construction and he looked through the window. We don’t know if that happened or not, but even if that did happen that is not a felony that would invoke the citizen’s arrest statute that would make this allowable.”

AHMAUD ARBERY WAS ONLY 25 YEARS OLD

Ahmaud Arbery, a fit athlete, was out jogging near his home on a Sunday afternoon in Brunswick, Georgia on February 23, 2020, when two white supremacists saw him, got their guns, got in a truck, chased him down, pulled up next to him, shot him at least two times, and killed him right there on the spot. Ahmaud was unarmed, broke no laws, and did nothing wrong. He was only 25 years old when he died.

The attackers were Gregory McMichael, a former police officer and retired investigator for the DA’s office, and his son Travis. When Gregory saw Ahmaud running in his neighborhood, Satilla Shores, a predominately white community, he and his son immediately armed themselves with a shotgun and a 357 magnum, hopped into their pickup truck, chased him down and shot him.
