CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND SENATOR AND TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON THIS BOGUS CR.

What someone wrote their elected representatives:

Dear Senator McSenatorFace,

1. I do not think that the Continuing Resolution working its way through the House is a “clean” CR. I think that if Democrats vote for it and it passes, it will reward and encourage the lawless behavior of Trump and Musk and that they will continue to usurp the powers of Congress.

2. I therefore think that you should vote against this CR unless it can be heavily amended to include iron-clad assurances to the effect of: No deal unless Trump is forced to re-swear that he will quit breaking the law AND Musk and DOGE must be removed from any role in the federal government. Since I don’t think any such assurances are possible, even if such amendments are added to the CR, I think you should vote against this CR.

3. Regardless of my input, I request a response from you telling me specifically what your intentions are with regards to this CR as it is understood as of today.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Constituent McConstituentFace

🚨 The 99-Page Republican Budget Just Dropped And It’s Brutal

House Republicans just unveiled their 99-page budget, and the numbers don’t lie, it’s packed with cuts that hurt everyday Americans. Here’s what’s getting slashed:

🔴 VA Healthcare ⬇️ $15 BILLION – Less funding for medical services & private care. Veterans get longer wait times. 🇺🇸

🔴 Rural Broadband ⬇️ $50 MILLION – Internet expansion for rural communities? Not a priority. 🚜

🔴 Food Assistance for Seniors ⬇️ $100 MILLION – Cuts to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Seniors struggling to eat? Too bad. 🥫

🔴 Medicaid Hospital Funding ⬇️ $8 BILLION – Payments to hospitals serving low-income patients delayed & reduced. Expect closures in rural & urban areas. 🏥

🔴 Affordable Housing ⬇️ $34 MILLION – Less rental assistance for low-income families, veterans, & seniors. Homelessness? On the rise. 🏠

🔴 Border Security ⬇️ No New Hiring – No extra Border Patrol funding. So much for “secure the border.” 🤷

🔴 Cybersecurity ⬇️ No Increase – No boost in funding to combat China, Russia, & North Korea’s cyberattacks. National security? Who needs it. 💻 🇺🇸

🔴 WIC (Women, Infants, & Children Program) ⬇️ $1.5 BILLION UNDER REQUESTED LEVELS – Nutritional aid for struggling mothers & kids—not a priority.

🔴 Flood Prevention & Disaster Relief ⬇️ $500 MILLION – Less funding to protect red states from floods & hurricanes. Florida, Texas, Louisiana… good luck. 🌊

The bottom line: These aren’t just numbers—they’re real people losing healthcare, housing, and security. And yet, some in Congress will brag about this budget.

Ask them: “Which of these cuts are you proud of?” 🤨

GOP funding patch boosts defense and deportations, cuts other programs
Meredith Lee Hill and Jennifer Scholtes
Sat, March 8, 2025 at 11:20 AM CST5 min read

A seven-month funding patch released by House Republicans Saturday would add billions of dollars in spending for deportations, veterans’ health care and the military while cutting an even greater amount of funding for non-defense programs.

The measure, crafted by Speaker Mike Johnson in coordination with the White House, reflects President Donald Trump’s top policy priorities and heightens a confrontation with Democrats ahead of a Friday midnight shutdown deadline.

Trump on Saturday urged Republicans to back the legislation: “We have to remain UNITED — NO DISSENT — Fight for another day when the timing is right. VERY IMPORTANT,” he wrote on Truth Social.

House Democratic leaders have already declared themselves firmly opposed to the GOP-written stopgap. They spent weeks trading offers with Republicans to clinch a bipartisan government funding deal before House GOP leaders decided to pivot to the patch through September, which would give Trump substantially more leeway to shift federal cash.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut, the House’s top Democratic appropriator, called the funding patch a “power grab for the White House,” warning that the bill would allow Trump and his chief “efficiency” adviser Elon Musk “to steal from the American people.”

TELL THE TRUTH.

The Republicans’ proposed continuing resolution to avert a government shutdown has a bunch of poison pills.

Example:

It zeroes out the Toxic Exposures Fund to care for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances.

    Intro

Generations of Americans before us have faced and fought oppression, confronting forces determined to harm their lives and endanger their livelihoods while still forging ahead toward the unrealized promise of liberty and justice for all. Now, it is our turn to pick up the baton and show up – marching, striking, voting and protecting each other – for our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We have won fights against exploitation by a wealthy, White few before, and by joining together, we will again.
