A descendant of those brought over in the hulls of slave ships.
My family has been here since before America became America.
One of the craziest realizations is the past month or so, is that there are large groups of people who don’t understand that Black Americans ARE NOT IMMIGRANTS to this country.

That’s about us.
Our very existence in this country has always pushed it to attempt to live up to the creed that it put down in writing. It’s one of the reasons why we are despised.
And, everyone who is not a Straight White Male in this country, needs to understand that every inch of progress forward in this country during the 20th Century onward was made possible due to the Civil Rights Movement.

Other groups have ONLY HAD TO WORK since they came here.
There have NEVER HAD TO FIGHT for anything.
Because those battles were done before, BY BLACK AMERICANS, and the successes benefit all.
