Scathing dissent from Justice Kagan:

“[T]his Court reverses that judgment based on its perusal, over a holiday weekend, of a cold paper record. We are a higher court than the District Court, but we are not a better one when it comes to making such a fact-based decision. That is why we are supposed to use a clear-error standard of review—why we are supposed to uphold the District Court’s decision that race-based line-drawing occurred (even if we would have ruled differently) so long as it is plausible. Without so much as a word about that standard, this Court today announces that Texas may run next year’s elections with a map the District Court found to have violated all our oft-repeated strictures about the use of race in districting. Today’s order disrespects the work of a District Court that did everything one could ask to carry out its charge—that put aside every consideration except getting the issue before it right. And today’s order disserves the millions of Texans whom the District Court found were assigned to their new districts based on their race. Because this Court’s precedents and our Constitution demand better, I respectfully dissent.”

It’s basically a mouthpiece for Donald Trump at this point. Congress is supposed to be a co-equal check on the president. People are resigning rather than stand up to Donald Trump. Even the bureau of labor statistics is supposed to be an independent data agency to show the health of the economy, we don’t even have the October jobs report. We see this over and over again.

If you thought the raw percentages looked bad for Republicans, this map is even more alarming.

In the Miami Mayoral race, Democrats erased the GOP’s gains from last year in Shenandoah, The Roads, and parts of Little Havana. Cuban precincts shifted 15–20 points to the left and Republicans were crushed in Anglo areas like Coconut Grove.

Last year, Trump nearly won most Brickell precincts; today, Brickell swung almost 20 points left.

    More analysis to come.

🚨 ICE/Border Patrol tried to kidnap a U.S. citizen in Minnesota.

In the video, you can see a woman desperately pleading with agents, trying to show them ID… even though U.S. citizens are not required to prove their citizenship to ICE. ICE agents are legally expected to know who they are detaining before putting someone in cuffs, not grab first and figure it out later.

    But that’s exactly what happened.

Moments later, agents open the door of their unmarked vehicle and pull out a man they had already handcuffed… a man who did nothing wrong… only to quietly remove the cuffs and let him go.

No apology. No explanation. Just a silent correction after an attempted abduction.

This is what unchecked power looks like… and it’s happening under an administration that encourages ICE to push the limits of the law. If they’re willing to snatch the wrong person in broad daylight… a citizen they never verified… imagine what happens when the cameras aren’t rolling.

SEATAC, Wash. — Immigration justice activists confronted airline employees at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Sunday night in an effort to stop the deportation of a medically fragile immigrant to the Philippines. Advocates say the man, 37-year-old Greggy “Kuya G” Sorio, could die if he is forced to travel.
Late Sunday night, Filipino immigrant justice group Tanggol Migrante told KING 5 they were able to successfully intervene and that the detainee was deplaned and taken back to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.

Sorio was brought to SEA Airport around 7 p.m. Sunday to be deported, after spending the last ten months detained at the detention center. According to activists, his health deteriorated while in custody. Members of the Tanggol Migrante movement say Sorio developed ulcerative colitis and a severe bone infection that resulted in the amputation of his pinky toe.
