It’s been 15 years since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, giving MILLIONS health care.

It’s been 8 years since trump said he’d replace it.

It’s been 5 years since trump told Fox News he’ll be “signing a health-care plan within two weeks”

It’s been ONE year since trump made the ridiculous statement he had “concepts of a plan.”

It’s been 11 months since trump has been in office.

ACA subsidies are about to expire, causing healthcare premiums to spike for MILLIONS of Americans.

WHY DON’T REPUBLICANS APPROVE A DAMN EXTENSION FOR ACA SUBSIDIES UNTIL THEY HAVE A LEGITIMATE PLAN FOR HEALTHCARE???

GOP Rep. Jeff Van Drew says an ACA funding extension will be excluded from this package, based on everything he’s seen and heard. In conference, “we saw that nothing was even taken seriously” by leadership from those who want that money to continue, he adds.

“I want to work with the speaker. I like the speaker. I respect the speaker. But, I mean, there’s a whole swath, a big group of members that are concerned about this.”

MISSOURI SECRETARY OF STATE SETS OFF ANOTHER LEGAL BATTLE OVER GERRYMANDERING

After the group People Not Politicians submitted more than enough signatures for a referendum to repeal Missouri’s gerrymandered congressional map, Secretary of State Denny Hoskins (R) says the map will still go into effect.

Hoskins told the Missouri Independent that the signature process will not stop the new congressional map from going into effect on Thursday until his office verifies the 300,000 signatures (only 107,000 are needed to put the map on a referendum for voter approval). This is despite precedent in the Attorney General’s office that laws targeted by referendums are frozen until the vote is held. Hoskins also claimed that he has the power to declare the referendum unconstitutional.

“I’m going to follow my attorney’s opinion and the attorney general’s opinion that explicitly states that the referendum does not take place until those signatures are verified by the secretary of state,” Hoskins said in an interview Tuesday with the Independent.

Hoskins’ statements will likely spawn even more lawsuits over Missouri’s new map. This week, one lawsuit filed by Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway (R) — which sought to block the referendum process — was tossed out of court. Another upheld the ability for the Missouri General Assembly to redistrict without new Census data.

Pay attention to how Kristi Noem gives a general thank you to one veteran and then a direct thank you to the other.

Word choice matters — and the Secretary knows that.

Congressman Seth Magaziner embarrassed her today, and rightfully so.

Meanwhile, Louisiana is being “invaded” — not by migrants — but by Border Patrol and ICE deployed for political theater. Hispanics make up under 10% of Baton Rouge. Our issues aren’t caused by people migrating here; our issues are caused by leaders like Kristi Noem spending our tax dollars targeting migrants instead of investing in Americans.

We should all be seeing clearly by now who these leaders value and respect — and who they don’t.

    From Politico:

Speaker Mike Johnson is facing another intraparty revolt — one that has nothing to do with health care, defense policy or pay for college athletes.

Johnson wants the House to vote on a bill next week from Natural Resources Chair Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) that would accelerate the production and delivery of domestic energy. For Republicans, it would fulfill a yearslong legislative priority — and for President Donald Trump, his dreams of achieving U.S. energy dominance.

But some conservatives want to speed up the federal permitting process only for fossil fuels. And they’re furious that Westerman’s measure, which advanced out of committee with bipartisan support last month, would ease the path for green energy projects, too.
