Mary Franson, Minnesota GOP Representative Compares Food Stamp Recipients To Feeding Wild Animals

Remind you of anyone? *Hint* YOU BETCHA!  Cloning at its worst….

DELIVER US FROM THE MADDNESS — AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN BUT DON’T FEED THEM?

MAJOR FAIL!

Rep. Mary Franson compares food stamp recipients to animals and MNGOP pulls the video

The House MNGOP was smart enough to pull down the video, but dumb enough to put a camera in front of someone challenged in both brain and heart. They were too slow for HongPong on YouTube, who saved and uploaded it, with a hat tip to Bluestem Prairie where I found the video posted.

About 1:50 in, Franson read “this little funny clip we got from a friend”:

It says, ‘Isn’t it ironic that the food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.
Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to please not feed the animals, because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

*This bitch doesn’t know the APPROPRIATE government departments.  Agriculture Department does not tell folks not to feed the animals, Mary Franson.  Maybe you should consult the DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION, dear.  Gawd, my head hurts….

When are these GOP thugs going to realize that BLACKS and other POC know exactly who they are referring to with the “LAZY,  PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS, TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES.” Bulshit?

Should we expect an ad from Mary Franson soon using her best Christine O’Donnell voice stating: “I’M NOT A SCROOGE, I’M YOU.”

Feeding the meme: Mary Franson, “Box Turtle Ben” and the politics of post-moronic mean

After a “Sorry if you were offended” non-apology apology for repeating a tasteless conservative meme equating feeding poor people with feeding wild animals, Representative Mary Franson tweeted that she wanted a discussion about creating a culture of self-dependency.

Perhaps she’ll demonstrate how a three-year lifetime limit on receiving public assistance (federal law sets it at five years) will help those Todd County children aged seven and under stand on their own two feet.

Perhaps her defenders can supply boot-straps for baby booties.
But Franson isn’t alone in her love of equating The Other among her fellow creatures with animals. Indeed, as Bluestem noted earlier this week in Mary Franson to bring top conservative plagiarist to state office building free lunch for legislators, the gentlewoman from Alexandria, Minnesota, is playing host to a free lunch offered to state legislators by the Heartland Institute in the State Office Building.

Will buying their lunch make Minnesota’s lawmakers dependent on the Heartland Institute? I would certain hope not when it comes to pseudo-science surrounding tobacco policy. But I digress.
